I just drove 3 hr round trip to pickup a Black lower roller 44 and upper. Get it home and pop the box top off and see that the lower roller has 2 nasty dents in it. No surprise, this is my 2nd US General Pro box I have owned. The first one I bought many years ago when I lived next door to a HF store. I got it home and the lower was mashed up also. No big deal when you live close by, I returned to the store and swapped it for another lower. I sold that box this morning because it was too small. Then I opened the 44 inch top box....No dents in this one, but the entire box is covered in overspray....Not just the black either, I mean the handles and all have body shop overspray on them and the leading edge of the lid looks like a votech orange peel convention.....Its bad, it feels like sand paper. Now keep in mind I know what to expect from HF boxes as I own one. The finish on this new series 2 box is sloppy, and covered in overspray. So now the store is transferring another lower in for me hopefully tomorrow. So I get the joy of driving another 3 hrs with a box trailer on my suv, and burning another 40 in gas and 10 in tolls to pickup another lower. I am not even sure I wanna keep the sloppy lookin upper at this point. To make matters worse, I dont have a toolbox now since I sold my old one.....The one that had a perfectly smooth finish, and no dents.........Word of advice for ANYONE considering these boxes.....OPEN THE BOXES AND LOOK AT EVERY PIECE YOU PLAN ON BUYING BEFORE YOU PAY AND TAKE THEM FROM THE STORE. So you dont end up dealing with this bs too. I am not hating on HF, I loved my old US General Pro box, but BOTH times I bought boxes from 2 different HF stores the lower boxes were dented. A box has to have a smooth finish on it, or you never gonna be able to wipe it down easily after work sessions.

I bought this set, it has everything you have here except the top box I got it for $300.00 on our local Classifieds! I’ve been watching the classified’s for months and I finally snagged it! I agree. I started buying out a series 1 that I thought was a series 2 because I was planning on buying a piece at a time, but it made me mad so I took back and bought the whole series 2 set at once.
I made it myself. 2 of them actually, the other for vise. One with 4" square tube and the other I-beam. Both have flat iron on bottom, cut to fit, and the top 6" channel iron. One with an 18" wheeler wheel and one with 18 wheeler brake drum.

Yesr. Will do. I recently moved and have moved it from my house to storage to new house. Now waiting for shop build to move again. Will post a review once in shop with box and moving it as well.
It was returned because it was an 18" (series 1)deep cabinet. The blue one is 22" deep(series 2). Upon that return I decided to get a complete set so I wouldn't run into that again. Blue was rhe only color they had rhe full set of in stock at that time. I believe it worked out better.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Bottom section main box had prethreaded holes top and bottom on right side. Left side I just did the bottom but I'm pretty sure it had some for top but I didn't take any drawers out to put them in. I figured with the weight in them it wouldn't go anywhere.
Sorry for the late reply. It's holding up nicely. All drawers are still working well and I haven't done any maintenance on them. Have had condensation on the shop floor many time but the toolbox stayed dry.
What's the exact length of the new Series 2 with both end pieces you have. I have the old original matte end without the end cabinet and want to see if I upgrade that I can fit the whole thing into the space I have. Thanks in advance for measuring for me.
Yeh I don't know why. When i purchased it i figured it was just in the pictures because they didn't have that on the display models either. I take it yours does have them?
@Andrew Lopson I couldn't find your reply on here Its just showing in my notifications, but yes I removed the big box off the pallet alone. I used a floor Jack to take the box off the blocks and hit them out with a 2.5lb hammer. Let it down, did the other side. Then carefully put one side one the ground off the pallet, then the other making sure it didn't tip over.
No it did not. Honestly I didn't look to see if there were mounting wholes to bolt them together like the sides. I have loaded/unloaded onto a trailer assembled 2 times each and haven't had a problem with it trying to come off.
I believe the total cost was around $1500 I bought some pieces and then returned them so they just deducted that off the total so not exactly sure. They did have a sale on the whole set just before Christmas though
Nice. I've been thinking of that similar setup but with the 72 inch wide bottomand was thinking a second of the short cabinet you have on the left on the right as well. Will it fit on either side?
Put a floor Jack between pallet and box in between the wheels on the left or right side and lifted it off the pallet, then took a 2lb hammer and knocked the wooden blocks off.or made them real loose. Lowered and did same thing to opposite side and was able to pull wooden braces/blocks off. Then picked up one end by hand and set on the floor from the pallet and then the other side ensuring it didn't tip over.
Great video! I have a question. What is the height of both tool boxes combined from the floor to the top? Or how tall are you? I'm kind of short so I'm trying to figure out if this setup would work for me.
Sorry took so long to reply. I'm 6' tall. From ground to top of toolbox with lid open is 4' 11 5/8". With lid closed height is 5' 1 1/2". To top rollout drawer 4' 8 5/8".
Yes, all the sides are universal. You can have the door on both sides or just either side as well as the toolbox side add on. You can even buy 2 x 44" boxes and put that side toolbox add on in the middle of the two 44" and have one long one.
There are 4 bolts that bolt in from underneath. Take out the top drawer of the bottom box to access the holes. Helps to take out the bottom drawer of the top box, too.

No sir. Its heavy enough and sits inside the lips of the bottom box. Even with the top empty, drawers pulled out no problems. The only thing input bolts on was the locker
@@bradleydunford4350 I love it. I believe it was a good investment. Now I only get to use it maybe every other weekend but no problems at all. Nice. I've been thinking of that similar setup but with the 72 inch wide bottomand was thinking a second of the short cabinet you have on the left on the right as well. Will it fit on either side?
Yesr either one will fit on either side. So can have one or the other or both of one kind.
Nice box is it stable after all your tools put in?
Yes its stable. No rocking or anything. I also dont move it.
Could you tell me exactly how you went about getting the 44"x22" box off the pallet by yourself? Thanks in advance.
Half a forest for all that cardboard. Hope it got recycled. Beautiful toolbox. I'm waiting till the big boxes are available in the lime green color
Looks good
Great video!
@@jamestijerina2787 it's okay! :) Thanks so much for the helpful info !!
Looks nice, does the door on the locker reverse for the other side?
Yes, all the sides are universal. You can have the door on both sides or just either side as well as the toolbox side add on. You can even buy 2 x 44" boxes and put that side toolbox add on in the middle of the two 44" and have one long one.
@@jamestijerina2787 I know the cabinet itself will fit on both sides I'm just wondering if the door is reversible on the cabinet
@@sparky0288 ohh got ya. From what I recall no. I will be home tomorrow and give you a 100% answer
nice job
Appreciate it
does the top box sit on top without moving around or do you have to attach it somehow?
It has like 1/4" lip on both sides and back. No movement what so ever since I've been using it.
I guess the 44" is different than my 56". thanks for the reply and keep up the great videos!
@@lsturbointeg sorry to hear that. Appreciate it
There are 4 bolts that bolt in from underneath. Take out the top drawer of the bottom box to access the holes. Helps to take out the bottom drawer of the top box, too.
lol your the first guy to receive his pieces with no damage
Strongest woman ever. I could not evrn lift that a few inches
I'm not going to lie...I'm jealous
Tour?
Coming soon. Downloading video tonight, then just edit. Running a little behind huh, lol.
*It's always nice when our Wives let us buy something.*
Good video. Next time take the draws out to lighten it up.
Yeh good idea. I'll be sure do that if I ever move, lol. Appreciate it.
@@jamestijerina2787 I picked up one of the previous generation hanging side chests. That damn thing was almost 200 lbs with the drawers in. About busted a nut carrying it down to my basement shop.
Nice.. I'll do the same because HF didn't let me take their forklift either. 1 man job from my truck be to the ground in the rain and mud :)
@@andyprairiedog Oof. I bet that was a heck of a dang workout. Luckily I put all mine on a utility trailer with a ramp. Used the moving dollies so it wasnt near as bad as yours.
You know you can take off the drawers and it weighs about 2/3 less
Lol. Yeh I guess I got to excited and didn't think about that. Sometimes you have to look at things from outside the box. Next time def. will come out.
Just wondering what is the total height on that thing
don't know about the rest, but I do know that the bottom cabinet weighs just shy of 400lbs.
Did you bolt the top down to the bottom box
No sir. Its heavy enough and sits inside the lips of the bottom box. Even with the top empty, drawers pulled out no problems. The only thing input bolts on was the locker
@@jamestijerina2787 ok thanks how do you like the box I'm thinking about getting the 56" top and bottom box and a locker
@@bradleydunford4350 I love it. I believe it was a good investment. Now I only get to use it maybe every other weekend but no problems at all. I've left some drawers, that were filled with tools hang out for a week and still works fine. Kind if jealous now they have so many colors but I'm happy with my color choice
@@jamestijerina2787 yeah I like that the 44" the drawers open all the way and the 56" don't but I think I would run out of room with the 44" box
Im looking at a red one just like that
Their nice toolboxes. I heard some series 3 are coming out soon. Not sure what changes are in those.
Of course they'd be 10mm. That's the one socket I can never find!
Lol, this is true. Never fails.
Uh...take the drawers out? Lock the casters??? Maybe gloves??? How about lifting straps?
What did you end up doing with your other one? Sell it?
yall r funny, what did you do with all the garbage n cardboard lol!?!?
Lol. Well I burned it all but the styrofoam. I threw it away.
Nice
what was the total price for all 4 boxes?
I want to say 1200 to 1500. I bought 2 red pieces and one was a different size so I took both them back and paid difference for the other two. So in guess you could say unpaid for the box in 3 payments
Is that the 56” box?
No sir the 44"
Not a fan of the big storage locker on the end, much better value with the drawer end cabinet you also have on left side, lot of money and wasted space to hold welding helmet and coat.. nice us generals they rock
Could've taken the drawers out, then shown the wife how smart you are.
If my wife would be complaining like this, she would have got beatings
