Nice review. I liked that you checked the metal thickness. Interesting assembly technique too. I’ve seen a lot of guys drop them in from the top with an assistant. These are reportedly coming up on sale for $199 again on a parking lot sale. Thanks for enduring the heat for this assembly and thanks for sharing!
$189 right now until march 17th. Really considering getting one.
I have the white one and the white Yukon nine drawer workbench. They look beautiful in my kitchen and my computer repair room.
The white works very well for gourmet, cooking, utensils, and machinery, especially if you’re a DIY Baker or barbecue like I am
Just bought a series 3. I had to call a friend to help me lower the box onto the cart. Didn’t even think about laying it down and sliding the box in and bolting it in.
You also didn’t think about taking the drawers out
If you're unlikely to disassemble in the future, put red loctite on the fasteners. I have several HF carts that in time have had the fasteners loosen after a lot of use.
Yeah, these were on sale @ $199 for every color in my area last weekend. Encouraging to see pre-covid prices again
Great review!! For Black Friday 2023, Harbor Freight has these on sale for $189!! Seems like a steal at that price.
+1 Against the adhesive spray. Think ahead when you go to replace that liner pad. The spray and overspray are a pita to clean up. I used small squares of double sided tape at each corner and that worked fine for me.
If you're light on the adhesive spray, it cleans up pretty easy with some acetone or brake clean. You don't have to coat every inch, just enough to keep it from sliding.
Similarly built to my Sunex slider top 3 drawer cart...
14 gauge legs and 16 gauge drawers..
Castors are similar too I've never had a problem rolling...👍
They're very solid once they're full of tools
love mine. upgraded the casters though, highly recommend that upgrade.
Love mine too. Did the same with the casters.
@@tuesboomer1623what casters did you go with?
@@Ctjkaa I think I ordered mine from Rockler when they were all on sale. I upgraded to 4 swivels, same diameter as stock. Bases were different size, will have to re-drill 2 holes each eventually, but for now it doesn't need to move anywhere so it's on the 'when I get to it list'.
I purchased this in yellow for 180 and something bucks during a sale. It looks good. Does what I need. Was a little bit of a pain to put together but manageable doing it alone. The one thing I will say to prospective buyers is that those drawer locks suck. When the drawer closes all the way the cheap waffle style lever is difficult to slide to open the drawer. The drawers are not ball bearing drawers and don’t close easily without some effort. Also, the top doesn’t always close all the way, and when it is closed it activates the drawer locking mechanism. The good news is that you don’t have to push the drawer all the way in and activate that drawer lock. I am happy to have it as an addition but I don’t think I would pay full price. Worth the $180 though.
I would love to get one of these at some point, but I can not spend the money anytime soon. Thanks for doing a review of this, at least I got to see it being setup.
Great review and assembly video especially since this is the cart I’m looking at purchasing! I think you are the only other person other than me that has and still uses that Ridgid 12v palm impact driver. It’s one of my favorite tools and I wish Milwaukee would come out with an M12 Fuel palm impact driver as well! Come on Milwaukee we know you read these comments…lol! Great review again my friend!
The white looks awesome but I keep thinking of my greasy hand prints that will constantly torture my ocd 😂
I’ve had Milwaukee toolboxes craftsman toolboxes in the US generals, the best one I’ve ever had
I love my series! one difference is the drawers are only latched when the lid is down.
Great tip on the mats ! Took advantage of the HF one day Christmas sale and bought one for 189 bucks, they didn't have one in the store but ordered me one and it should be here Christmas week. Picked up the folding tray/shelf for it too. $227 OTD for everything. Murdered out Slate Gray ! Pretty hard to beat the set.
Mine is white as well. Parking lot sale for $199!!! I wish I bought two!!!
I just got a slate grey one yesterday for 229.00
Just pick one up this morning for $189. You said you had something special coming for this cart, did you ever release that video? I did A quick search of you video's and I didn't see anything yet.
WHAT IS THE MODEL TO RIDGID TOOL YOU USED I NEED ONE
Just picked one up for $189 at the black friday sale.
Only downside for myself, was the casters didn’t all swivel
Easy fix they sell swivel casters
I got mine a few months ago at parking lot sale $200, worth every penny, much better build quality etc. than the usual suspects. Personally i do NOT like/use the drawer locks with respect to the individual drawers, i disabled them just put a screw in the gap, fully reversable. Also... I am adding another set of swivel wheels for ease movement , exact same as the other pair so ill hae 4 locking swivels. of course i have other ideas planned... SFMF
Took me way too long to realize the lid has to be open to unlock the drawers lol. I’ve never had one before so idk if that’s standard or not wasn’t mentioned in the instructions. Made me feel dumb haha
Do the drawers lock when you lock the top part or do they stay unlocked
They lock
Being made in China or Taiwan, wouldn't the metal thickness be metric, not speed in gauge? I have the 4 drawer version, it is very well made.
I wish we would find these in Europe, seems not be available around here :/
These are only sold in the USA through Harbor Freight. Wish we could help you out. Thanks for watching.
Would using the box only without the legs part be viable or does it mess with the rigidity of the box not having those legs bolted to, and supporting the sides?
The top of the box is wider than the drawers, so it wouldn't really work without the legs. They do also clamp everything together to make it very ridgit.
I would ditch the casters for roller blade style versions. They glide so much better than any other casters available and replace the cheesy lock cylinder while adding a thicker fabricated pawl latch instead of the super soft one that comes with the cart.
which ones did u get?
@@jtrane2011 Too many years ago for me to remember. It's more important to get the ones rated for the weight they will have on them. I can tell you not to go too large if the base is small or it will tip over easily. The surface of the casters makes a difference too when it comes to the heavier items. most will be fine, but it's something to think about when making your decision.
These are great also for locking up the cookies potato chips and snacks to keep the grand kids from getting them 😅
Hospitals and clean rooms you have to have white or stainless only.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Funny enough US General and Snap-on tool boxes are built to the exact same standards so I'm half wondering if they come from the same factory. 🤔
that would be pretty funny.
Considering snap on sued harbor freight, I'd doubt it
@@masoncampos7043 Alright Mr. Knowitall if you don't believe me then go to your closest Harbor Freight, find there tool boxes and one of them should have a sign hanging from the lid that compares their boxes with Snap-on boxes. The only difference you're going to see is the price.
@@masoncampos7043snap on sued because they were using the same factory and wanted to be the only one using that factory.
I have one of these. It's nice but the machining was terrible and it was delivered with a lot of shipping damage.
Bought one today for $189.
I have 5 of the 5 drawer carts in my shop 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I did the no cut double stack mod to mine, I love it, works awesome!
why are they $270??? i paid $150 for mine years ago that i use every day at work
Joe Biden and the Democrats inflation.
Bidenomics
Inflation and thats series 2 they will be coming out with series 3 soon too
Yea…years ago
Inflation buddy Where have you been ?
Nice review , dosen’t compare to my heavy Kennedy box w lifetime warranty , but for about 35% of cost not bad .
Why is he yelling???!
Huh?!
Replace those liners. They are as thin as tissue paper. Use thicker ones.
