It’s pretty sad and ignorant if anyone gave them a thumbs down but I don’t see a thumbs down on this video. These guys are great human beings on top of what they did for music. The world needs more good people. I just watched the speeches from Chuck D and LL, and they were incredible. Chuck is brilliant in general and LL is an amazing and smart dude. So much respect for these 2 legends and they’re the perfect dudes to honor the Beastie Boys.

I am a total Hip Hop head, I grew up with the Beastie Boys and I can't watch this without a lump in my throat. The best and worst day of their career at the same time. Rap music would not be the same without them.
I remember Ad Rock saying after MCA died that he had us fooled in the best way. I remember the emails from Oscope asking people to pray at the same time at a certain hour all together and send healing energy. I think at the time of this ceremony, we were all in disbelief that he'd actually die. He was so positive and forward thinking...it just seemed impossible at that moment. Miss his voice in the world so much!
I'm a dad of three kids ages 10,11, and 13. My job as a dad is to guide, disciple my children to be impactful adults, also exposing them to culture, art and music. You best believe the Beasties boys are on that list for real Hip Hop. RIP MCA!!
MCA always has the most eloquent and insightful things to say. So many years later, listening to his acceptance speech still makes me tear up. We were so lucky to have him and beastie boys 🫶
Its brotherhood. I spoke at my drummers funeral. No tears, never choked up. The car ride home I had never cried so hard in my life. Its just human nature to take over and allow you to do things you didnt think were possible.
This band has been the one constant throughout my life since I was old enough to make my own music choices. I've seen many bands, and I've enjoyed many bands but for 35 years there is only one group I hear every day, one group I just cannot resist singing/yelling along with...literally any time they come on. I have raised 4 kids, and when I'm dead and gone my kids will still smile and remember me being stupid any time they hear these legends.
Hundreds of people are watching this hiding or not even try to hide the tears in their eyes. No wonder. And so I ask myself even more how could Mike and especially Adam H. manage it not to cry while reading Yauch‘s lines ? Must have been hard for them. My deepest respect.
' I'd rather be a hypocrite than the same person forever' -Adam Yauch That's wisdom, right there. Can't take it, make it or fake it. Cheers. Thanks for the music.

Miss you guys 🇧🇪🙏 In Belgium your where and still a great gang, growing with you, living with your voice, your Powa! The sound of NYC, rushing and grooving all around you,
I remember being in junior high when licensed to Ill came out and I was like whattttttt. Then I remember being a freshman in college when check your head came out and I was like what?!!!! Now they’re Rapping AND playing their own instruments?! These guys are absolute legends.
I would argue that without these three guys, hip hop would not have been the success it has been to this day. I would also argue that their music is so incredible, it will be shaping the future of hip hop for generations before we all even catch up to where they were.
I saw Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza 94. I just remember thinking after watching them do Watcha Want, Sabotage, and Gratitude. How the heck is anyone going to beat that? Well Smashing Pumpkins were under whelming and Billy Corgan was talking about how he had sex and was a rock star and his band was pretty much asleep for their set.

A little kid in norway in the late 80s put on their record in gym class and became a hero!! Love them then, now and forever! Thanks for your hard work ❤️
God this makes me cry. Rest in paradise MCA.
Adam Yauch was pure class!!! RIP MCA rest easy 🤘♥️😎
I wore my license to ill cassette out!!!! Still know all the words to Paul Reveere. I always loved MCA's voice. RIP
3 MC's and 1 DJ!!!!!🥺 now 2
I saw the Boys with Public Enemy back in 1987, the place was hoppin bangin and rockin!!!
Mike D gave his kids the best nicknames lol hilarious! Damn I miss Adam. He left behind a daughter and wife and mother and two cool ass brothers! AD rock and Mike D.
probably my top 3 band of all time..and i am a metal fan
RIP MCA, I still miss you, thank you for my early teen years! To those of you thumbs down. Have some repect for them.

I’m not even a huge fan and I fucking love the Beasties. The world misses you, MCA.
reppin NYC till the break of dawn, they deserve a place in the city
I listen and watch these guys and just think about theyre every guy I went to school with. Doing what they love and having fun with it and blessing the rest of us wanna bes with their talent!!
I’m 48 old and Beastie Boys were my favorite band forever ❤
That takes a lot of guts and courage God bless everyone who knew Adam
Amazing live...4 sets in one....hiphop...funk...punk...hiphop.....the longest and greatest concert I've been to.
I just finished Beastie Boys Book and I pray that even one person reading this goes and buys it.
If you are a fan, it is ESSENTIAL.
I couldn't put it down.
Even better if you listen to it on Audible!
Well deserved. Beastie Boys rock! 🤘🤘🤘
I love they give so much props to their influence. I think most hip hop fans would have loved to grow up in New York throughout the 80's and 90's
I am a total Hip Hop head, I grew up with the Beastie Boys and I can't watch this without a lump in my throat. The best and worst day of their career at the same time.
Rap music would not be the same without them.
These guy blew walls down..by being outspoken and fresh..with rhythm energy and smarts
rest in peace MC A!!! your voice will live on forever in your message!
RIP MCA, love the beastie boys and always will
Beastie Boys are legends of rock and rap!!!!
How they kept their speeches together while their band mate was dying I have no clue
Its brotherhood. I spoke at my drummers funeral. No tears, never choked up. The car ride home I had never cried so hard in my life. Its just human nature to take over and allow you to do things you didnt think were possible.
maybe they had cried their tears in private and were cried out
Respect to mix master Mike and MCA. We live the beasties
This aired on HBO, one day after MCA's death
Yeah it was sad
Marty G Still can’t believe he’s gone. Rest In Peace brother Yauch 💔

I remember.
"Rest in Love and Music MCA!!" ❤🙏💯🎵
Hundreds of people are watching this hiding or not even try to hide the tears in their eyes. No wonder. And so I ask myself even more how could Mike and especially Adam H. manage it not to cry while reading Yauch‘s lines ? Must have been hard for them. My deepest respect.
' I'd rather be a hypocrite than the same person forever'
-Adam Yauch
That's wisdom, right there. Can't take it, make it or fake it.
Cheers. Thanks for the music.

👍
Fixed. Words matter.
well deserved and i love how they said that no artist can sample their beat. they were so fun, creative, and talented. all played instruments, all rapped, and beats were sooo crazy good.
When they came out I heard a voice in my head: THE BEASTIE BOYYYYYS ARE FINALLY HOOOOME! R.I.P MCA.
Miss you guys 🇧🇪🙏
In Belgium your where and still a great gang, growing with you, living with your voice, your Powa! The sound of NYC, rushing and grooving all around you,
Cried my eyes out.
Beastie boys for life
10 years ago this made my dads day, he fucking loved beastie boys growin up
rip brother
I remember being in junior high when licensed to Ill came out and I was like whattttttt. Then I remember being a freshman in college when check your head came out and I was like what?!!!! Now they’re Rapping AND playing their own instruments?!
These guys are absolute legends.
My childhood. I miss MCA so much you guys 😭💔
I would argue that without these three guys, hip hop would not have been the success it has been to this day. I would also argue that their music is so incredible, it will be shaping the future of hip hop for generations before we all even catch up to where they were.
Good music, really good. Great ? Nah. Not possible when you sample so much of other people’s music.
when I was growing up they were everything to me
Adam Yauch, humanitarian and musician. RIP
Nice shout out to Jonathan Richman and the Modern lovers, one of the best records ever made.
Absolute legends❤️ most favourite dudes to pic up a mic and rap, rock.. shit do whatever they wanted to do and did it so perfect! Mix Master Mike is the MASTER and wearing a Nuclear Assault T-shirt.. gotta love it! Haven’t seen this since this aired and of course tears are flowing again… RIP MCA💔
