    Lol I was sitting back this afternoon thinking about how I was going to approach the reinstall on the evo x. I'm doing the job by myself as well. I found your video and it was pretty much step by step the same as I had pictured in my mind. I guess great mind truly do think alike...lol. some people make things harder than they need to be. Work smarter than harder.

    great video man, i just got my evo all done and tuned with my new exedy twin and fp red and made 430 whp on the dyno jet, very happy all that hard work paid off as im sure yours will too, my evo trans install was also on my garage floor and i didnt have a cherry picker, i just had a harbor freight trans jack and nearly killed myself attempting it on my own , then i had 2 other people help and we got her done, i had the same issue with not being able to fully mate the trans to the block before starting in some bolts but i just did the same as you did and guided them the rest of the way in, youre completely right this job on the ground sucks ass, i sure as hell wouldnt do it again unless im able to perform it on a lift, my only concern is how youre going to get that rear mount bracket back on, i was able to get my trans out and in with it on, so i feel you may have created another obstacle for yourself, just and opinion from my own personal experience, i admire all your videos, i have used them as a tool for a lot of my work i performed on my evo 9, expecially the ones with the timing belt and cams, you definetly go over some really important details that can make or break you, eventually id like to make a channel with good informative videos like yours, awesome work man, keep it up

      an FP red would be sweet! Sounds like a nice set-up. I already installed the rear motor mount and it went fine. Took about 30 minutes. But yes, i probably should have bolt the rear motor mount plate back on the trans before putting it up in place but i never though about it.

      Boosted Films yea I know the evo 9 turbos make great power too, i was at 376 whp on my stock turbo on pump gas before the oil seals went , that’s why I upgraded my fp red which made me have to upgrade my stock clutch to the exedey twin, I’m still on the stock manifold just because I didn’t feel like spending another grand lol, the fp red ball bearing is expensive but so far i feel like I got my money’s worth , great spool up, and sounds amazing , and my power band is nice and smooth, all things that a good turbo should do👍

    I learned the hard way and now remove the radiator :/ It is so easy to damage it trying to install the g/b. Two years on and the thrust bearing has been ripped apart, so it's under the car again :(

    Just did this last week and it really is brutal. 1 jack under the oil pan and two under the transmission trying to wedge it in with a prybar...
    Next time I'm probably just going to drop the subframe I think that will save a lot of time and anger.

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  5 років тому

      Dropping the sub frame adds in issues with the steering rack, that's why i didn't touch it.

      I was thinking the same thing..took two days to drop my transmission with one jack by myself

    Hey hope your day is good, wondering what are your thoughts on this, @9:50 I popped the tob in and after I attached the sc I'll push the clutch pedal and the slave cylinder will pop back out

  • @ophv1998

    I was wondering about that throw out bearing! No problem to get it out, and it went back inn smoothly, the “click” came and I shoved the throw out bearing all the way from the left to the right (standing in front of the car looking under the hood) now mine just don’t won’t to go back now and is “lock” more in place than it was before removal. Is this normal? Should it go back with the slave cylinder on? Didn’t manage that with hands power tho!
    It would be nice if you showed how the throw out bearing was moving after the “click” mine was stuck in the middle only going towards the clutch not all the way out 🤔

    How do you put the shaft back into the trans/tcase? Does it simply slide in with the help of a rubber mallet?

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  5 років тому

      Yup. That works. Or use a slide hammer to tap it back in.
