spark has even less proj speed, cause u didnt include ashes i think but its not that major
Mana. Specifically reduced mana cost from alt gems like divergent inspiration/anom trap and mine dmg, boot enchants that gave 18% reduced mana cost, helm enchants that gave mana reservation efficiency etc. While not build breaking it will require more effort to achieve the desired numbers and that means less power somewhere else in a build. Trap, mine and I think CoC forbidden Rite took major hits.

They did not. Almost everything we know so far (no lghdtv gems) got nerfed in core. The problem is people read only half of the note for specific skill. For example TS - "Quality now causes the skill to Fire +0-1 secondary Projectile, instead of providing 0-20% increased Projectile Damage AND +1 SECONDARY PROJECTILE FROM ENCHANT". That's 20% increased projectil damage nerf. For a lot of skills they swapped old quality bonuses to one of old enchants.

Extra projectile is another entire hit. And every hit does multiple dozens of millions of damage.

Imagine Spark working like Firestorm currently does: A massive lightning strucks the targeted location, shooting out x amount of spark projectiles around it.
I really hope at least some aura/buff skills get transfigured: losing reservation efficiency on helmet enchant is quite a big hit for aura focussed builds
Vortex got me interested with Cold DoT Elementalist ? Since it has a cast time now wouldn't it affect the builds as well?
One of the only builds i can think of that can still probs use kaoms spirit is armor stacker. Due to the armor and evasion mastery regenning based off 1% of the armor every 4 seconds, which is alot at 1-2m+ armor.
The big thing about gem changes is that it's hard to call them buffs or nerfs as long as we don't know how the new alt gems are gonna work exactly. What are their stats, how easy or hard is it going to get the ones you want, and so on. The rest though, classic nerfs & buffs.
Its a nerf. By making the alt gems.drop from fking labs. ITS A HUGE FUN AND BUILD VARIETY NERF

You can get tf gems from literally 33 level lab while before you would need to wait for Heist cu cks to farm, on top there is 300 alt gems - Lab have 100+ only. Also labs gonna be complete by everyone up to 4 times (4 tf gems for everyone), not to say about those who gonna farm them for 2-3 minutes run. Turn on your brain mate.

Hunter Quiver can have 20% global chance to poison, so it is a nice alternative way to approach poison spellcaster, especially if you go for +3 bow for lvl7 enhance+empower.

Do we know if all alt qual gems will be gone in standard too or are they just legacy?
The eradication of mana reservation helmet enchants, including heralds, could be significant for a lot of builds. They're really chipping away as much mana reservation until one aura or herald will be the norm again, that's my prediction. I guess that's not a bad thing, it's always been very clunky, we probably won't see any of that in PoE2 anyways.

every lightning damage should still have a chance to shock, right? despite the arrow tooltip
i think mine/trap throw speed nerds are really impactful too, making mines and traps way more clunky to play

I think Kaom's spirit is now only for armorstackers and armor + ev Champ builds that can stack upwards of 500k combined armor + evasion. At this number, the mastery for 1% of ev/armor regen as life every 4 seconds does give you solid amounts of rage. Armorstackers in particular can still reach 50 rage regen per 4 seconds.

I know Power Siphon isn´t very popular, but it´s kinda dead for wander single target now. The extra projectiles will work in forbidden rite stile (shoots extra to nearby enemies) not as extra added like now. SST losing the phantasmal quality for crit multi scaling is a big nerf too.
Well, fortunately there is still hope that Transf gems will make them be closer to the what state we have now (Copium)

@@madhatten5123 I thoght about it but Barrage has a low effectiveness of added damage. Maybe the replacement of P. Siphon + Barrage sup for Barrage Skill + best Dmg support will make up for it.
P siphon with qual stacking you can get like up to 60% crit multi per power charge, seems like it still has potential with barrage support but I'm not sure.

No alt quality gems and no helm enchant is a neft to all builds. They sayd trasfig gems are supose to make up for that and more, so we have to w8 and see.

forgot ralakesh impatience. discharge dead. all endurance/brutal charge stacker have to use farruls fur again. ontop they just killed the boots for every other build as well. every power charge stackers who self cast used this as well because it allowed to use inner conviction and malachais loop. so pretty much all power charge stackers are dead (another assassin nerf :)
Loss of Anomalous HoAg hurts poison spell casters that are not Assassins. Might have to go for 1 or 2 Medium Clusters or Dendrobate over Lightning Coil now.
E: Oh you do mention it. Had expected it to be a big enough thing that it gets it's own section haha.
Im betting the transfigured version no longer summons an agony crawler but gives extra poison chance, possibly giving additional bonuses from virulence stacks

Anomalous minion speed being gone is a big nerf to wardloop. It can only be replaced by 2 extra to dust jewels so basically losing 2 jewel sockets.
Ele hit and wild strike, what are their fate?
Dont forget prismatic burst, the 3rd prismatic skill that lost its threshold jewels
I can't play in the end game where the wealth is. My rig won't run it. Maybe it could if they would allow me to eliminate audio and visual pollution.
So I have to grind it out in lower areas to amass currency and trade for it.
Aaaand now my gems and builds are gone.
Why?
quality is gonna be insanely broken. ashes + enhance 8 (enhance 5 + 1 to all skills + 2 support gems) -> 106% quality on lightning conduit for example would mean you get 21% more damage per 5% of shock effect. You can get up to 115% shock effect in theory. meaning the quality alone would get you 483% more damage in a 2 link.
Playing for the first time and i chose Enki's Lightning Conduit; i thought shock ist capped at 65% with 249% ailment effectiveness? The maximum i ever see ingame on mobs is 65% too.
@@Bahzur There are also sources of +flat max shock. I don't recall how exactly, but i remember it being 115%. Could be wrong though. It is def more than 65% though. Don't know how applicable it would be to actually build around, was just throwing out the numbers.
New lightning conduit quality is additive with the 21% more damage per 5% of shock effect on the gem (at gem levels 27-30) rather than being a new separate more multiplier. 20% quality to 106% quality will be ~58% more damage at 115% shock. 50% quality to 106% quality will be only ~31% more damage for an Enhance 8 if you're already using Ashes.

Tornado shot change is a straight up BUFF, previously it was IMPOSSIBLE to get more than 4 secondary arrows per little "tornado" you fire (with helmet enchant), now you can do gem quality shenanigans to get that number to maybe 5, 6, or even 7 secondary projectiles. We lost +20 proj damage, which is so common on the tree anyway. Straight up buff in my book.

i hope there are a lot of transfigured gems that do what the alt quals did, like the shockwave totem cold conversion quality, now my shockwave totem build is dead cause the cold conversion will be gone

I’m still not sure how I feel about no more helm enchants. Like I don’t get too much time to play and I actually hated farming lab for enchants. Now it’s even more important to run.

Time of need is huge noob trap. You cant use unreliable regen for anything at all. Simple math will help you evaluate that it is very unlikely that you get hurt at the exact momement where you would benefit from the regen.

Unironically; last leauge I took 3 ascendancy notables on my Guardian because nothing else fit what I was doing; and it was literally better taking 2 minor nodes than Unwavering Faith.
Kaom's spirit nerf was truly insane, 100 too 300 was too heavy of a nerf imo
There were actually a lot of sneaky nerfs that no one has talked about. Just like the mana leech.

If these don’t get a trans gem then this archetype is gigs nerfed.
Discharge aswell. There were builds that got to 95-100% Chance of not removing charges, which is now nowhere near possible anymore (mainly due to missing lab enchant).
I am really disappointed by the uninspired nerfs (for e.g. Spark) and most likely the Transfigured Gems/Normal Gems not even being close in replacing Lab enchants in most cases.
It all comes down to the new gems, if they're all pretty bad than these nerfs will be very noticeable next league where you will not have the borrowed power from the new ascendancies. But for now its fine (copium)

I think that accuracy stackers are ok. GGG changes 2 accuracy mastery and 1 mark mastery from inc accuracy to more accutace (40%. 50% and 50%). This 3 mastery gives a total 1.4*1.5*1.5= x3.15 more multiplier (so it's x3 flat damage and x3 attack speed - that gives as nearly x9 DPS). We lost inc dmg from gem quality, but we still have inc damage from helm and bow.
I think that accuracy stacking will be even stronger this league
But those masteries are conditional, so they shouldn't affect your character's stats, meaning you most likely won't get any benefit from them sadly.
@@Alterpexsis Pob say's that they will affect and they will give u dps. One mastery gives u accuracy at close range (then u play meele it's almost always), one gives accuracy agianst unique enemy's and last against marked enemy's. So the only situation then last two mastery doesn't give u accuracy is then u fight with white/blue trash

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing beyond my fundamental background of playing way too much Diablo 2. (from 2000 until like 2011) So most of this stuff, while very crunchy and tasty, means little to me in an operational sense.
Time of Need on Guardian should still be perfectly fine. Remember that Minions don't give any leech and Time of Need gives more than 5 vitalities worth of regen per second on average.

The loss of boot enchants will be rough. Over all we lost a bunch of power. %reserv helmet enchants alone are such a big hit.
Its all just nerfs in fancy packaging.

You're basically losing 1 extra hit on average - which probably means its lot worse. I think "Bow" tech is now the only good version to rely on since there is even more than need while spark had before - now just right

is there any quality that ended as a buff? because the more i looked, the more i saw nerfs. for example, righteous fire lost its burning damage and got range, which is good, but its so small, you wont even notice unless you are using something that boost its quality.

Ball lightning getting base radius is huge cause a lot of BL damage comes from messing with overlaps
Bane now gives 1% curse effect with 1% quality. That's insane. Temp chains with 75% slower rate is back, so poison got a huge buff here
Many other ones too. Especially for lesser used gems

since kaoms and heatshiver got nerfed its a bit worse, but they are still probably the best skills in the game

I'm still trying to make sense of everything but their commentary of "making gems much stronger" doesn't seem like the case for certain gems, TS and Scourge Arrow. And SA wasn't in the best place to begin with anyway. The way GGG lately markets their league changes doesn't come off as genuine - "we're combining everything into gem's quality to make them powerful"
I would argue that kaoms spirit now is in a more balanced place now. Sure you dont have berserk as any random build now. But as e.g. CF champion you can easily skill the armour evasion burst life regen and still get like 12 average rage regen and 18-20 burst rage regen. Is it worde than before? Sure. Is it entirely dead for some builds? No.
its 1/3rd the amount of rage it used to give, and that's not counting builds that have regen with numbers that arent divisible by 300, which is most of them. ALOT of rage lost that way. is it still useable? sure, but dont expect it to be good. because it wont.
in other words, its no longer something most builds will think about using, only very specific, builds will. so congrats on diminishing the viability of another unique.

One major "nerf" (more of a bug fix) was for ralakesh boots. Pretty much seems like it gets rid of the interaction with discharge builds.
Yeah, "counting as maximum charges" doesnt leave discharge any charges to remove as far as i understand

Chances are most of the alt quality gems that people used are still in the game. It's the useless one that got reworked. If GGG knows what they're doing.

With the new alt gems it’s kinda wrong to call gem changes a nerf. New alt gems could be stronger than old ones, they could be worse.

heatshiver was overpowered but no build that used it was overpowered that is the main thing. its just the main piece that made allot of builds work now its gone and gone are all the builds that used it.
its not good for a unique to prob up so many builds. GGG mentioned they will do so number adjustments in Ascendendies and gems in the future likely to even out extreme imbalances these gem changes will bring. But mark my words, this is a massive late endgame nerf by like 50% powerlevel. Floor went up but the cieling came crashing down.
Frost blades was doing like 480 million damage on a min/maxed build. Thats not broken?
@@Seelenverheizer why not? that's the whole point of uniques in PoE. since 90% is complete trash nobody uses, because the game demands so much yellow crafted stuff.
if anything, uniques SHOULD be build defining. that's what make them useable in PoE in the first place.

@@finalfragment8432 I can read a path of building just like a content creator. Kobe was playing top end frost blade builds over a year ago. Its one of the best clear skills in the game the problem it has always had is single target. Heatershiver solved that so you take one of best clear skills in the game and solve its weaknesses. The only thing bow builds really have on frost blades is raw speed. You my friend are a sheep if you believe what you see on youtube more than what you can see with your own eyes.
I suspect there will be a transfigured spark that always poisons and has 100% conversion as well. But i do agree its a massive nerf.
I played spark to mid endgame (200div invest build) Inquisitor and i must say the power already wasnt there. Its limited in map and league choise, tankyness is subpar and overall for the investment i could easily get a much better build. I wouldnt touch it with a 50 foot pole.
I wonder how many people agree that iLvL 83 Sanctums are easy content without a specialized/optimized build and uber expensive relics.

Love that healthy attitude of "it is what it is" with the changes. Like, whoa, sorry you guys can't just play the exact same thing. To me, that's the beauty of this game, is thinking through things and creatively working through how to get something to it's highest potential. That's what keeps poe fresh and alive!
Indeed, I was new to the game and like it so far but since they killed the build that i learn to play and have no desire to invest Time to learn a new one, i just leave this game.
I might try poe 2 but that is all.

Besides for really Tanky map mobs i don't think that Heatshiver really got a big nerf, same dmg on bosses since they can't get frozen
They can be frozen. It just sets them to the minimum action speed. If you freeze a boss, you can just hover over their health bar and clearly see it.
As someone considering playing PoE for the first time I don't really like seeing shakeup nerfs like this. I'm someone who gets pretty attached to builds, items, setups etc I enjoy so when they are nerfed it's incredibly frustrating for me. It's something I consider before picking up a game, how likely am I going to be stressed and frustrated by the devs "balancing". So what would people recommend, is it still worth it? I tend to use the best performing builds as well because I enjoy feeling powerful and that's the most fun for me
If that's the case, you will have plenty of stress and frustration playing this game. Being attached to a build in PoE is like being attached to a character in Game of Thrones or Squid Game.
There is a caveat that helps somewhat, if there are other powerful and fun builds(even though I'm kind of picky)I can move to instead and feel good while playing then that can help me move on since I have zero interest in playing a weaker version of something I was playing before. PoE has been around awhile and I've seen the crazy skill trees. So while I don't like being forced to switch. If there is a lot of fun and powerful builds to experience, then that helps.

Melee got fucked. Like, in multiple ways. Alt quality CoC in Disfavour was 50% more damage without any of the downsides other melee DPS gems had with the 10% less ASP. That's literally the single best melee DPS gem with that axe.
