Last league I was using this and it was horrible. I kept running into mobs that removed my flasks.
I don't play RF much but I really like Pohx, and even seeing and hearing the changes of the RF gem change and the initial clip(s) of him a bit perturbed about the RF change; I always knew he'd come out on top. This man has such a dedication to his baby that they could nerf it by 99% and he'd still find a way to come out on top, that's how much faith I have in the man to make RF work.
With mana RF existing, I was more excited to see what Pohx will do with it, rather than what the gem is itself.
What an entertaining pod cast. Really enjoyed you guys feeding of each others energy on this one.
this is great , love hearing the indepth explanations and explorations . funny to hear pohx say " this is an entirely new archetype for me " after playing every righteous fire variant imaginable . that there is still so much design space to explore in one skill is impressive

19:40 As someone who loves harbinger. I have been doing blue wildwood and havent seen any fracturing orbs but i have seen a massive uptick in annul shards. Id normally see 1-3 every 3-4 harbies. Since running blue empower ive seen multiple harbies drop 10-12 annul shards. Best so far was a double harbinger map that gave me a totally of 19 shards + 1 annul orb.

I started playing PoE because i saw a clip of him playing RF and i thought it looked really fun so i gave the game a try with one of his 5+ hours build guide on youtube and have been playing ever since.

Phox always is able to find a alternative way to make RF good.
Huge way for hierophant to get awesome QoL (from experience) is the Flame and Flesh combo "Time of need" with zealot's oath allocated. It's actually so amazing because nowadays it brings you to full ES every 4 seconds (along with the additional removals). Highly recommended. Really refreshing video gentlemen!
How are the es regen charms for mana / es build?
You'd probably rather take Inquisitor's Sanctuary and take a charm for 2 second linger. It'd be way more consistent than Time of Need and both options are very cheap.
LoL, Phox had cleared the atlas and had done 3/4 pinnacle bosses on the 23rd hour of the league. At this time I was still in act 7 with an EA champ. He knows what hes doing, hes doing alright.
If you decide not to run Legacy of Fury, it's possible to use Ralakesh boots and Inner Conviction to get a more multiplier from both power and frenzy charges. That depends on whether a later version of the build depends on Traitor and flask sustain. Though charms can also help with flask charges. I guess minimum charges would also work.
Charges can also enable Void Battery as a replacement for Indigon if you aren't getting the super high bonuses in the 1000%+ range.
Conviction of power ascendency + skyforth + void batteries would also be an option to synergize with conviction of power. The downside is es regen investment + leech … -> shavronne revelation in right slot ?
2 great streamers
1,5 million tooltip RF is insane in the first week of the league.
I played moderately-invested RF in 3.21 and reached about 1 million tooltip RF ("Deals ~1000000.0 damage per second" in the skill description) and this damage was enough to farm just about any content in this game except the very high end stuff. I comfortably farmed Simulacrums to wave 30 and if it happened to roll +80% fire resistance on wave 29 or 30 i would simply exit and open a new sim cos that Kosis would not be dying quickly. I was able to Delve to depth 475 which has a significant life multiplier, you definitely feel this HP hike compared to normal level 83 content. Could propably push it to 500's but I got bored with delve.
In softcore trade this new Mana RF can become a pretty insane endgame build to strive for. Atm im LA metaslave farming currency in Heist. Tailoring and Tempering orbs feel extremely common compared to previous leagues, I tend to get 1-2 per grand heist. I also found one of the new rings that i sold for 8 div and bought myself a Hyrri.
I havent had time to get started on the league yet. This talk hyped me a lot! What would be a fun starter (Doesnt have to be the best, but fun) for SSF you guys think? Anyone doing anything interesting?
The energy shield and evasion mastery increases evasion even more.
The whole triple-empowered rares sounds like the lake of Kalandra's archnemsis 2.0.

I've played a handful of leagues over my POE carreer, I'm still very much a noob. But I've been playing RF for the first time this league (started a couple days ago) and I'm really happy with the build compared to all my previous builds. The start was slow up until I got RF and after that I basically melted through the campaign and white maps with basic crap gear mostly.
I was a victim of the mushroom man, can confirm that thing was cracked out of its mind.
I had some league mecanic empowered, and (Yellow beast) essences that legit had more life than Uber elder, did hit like a truck and, well there was 2 of them because at least one was shrieking. Had to have somebody come help (and it was only in a t10 map mind you)

These podacasts are especially great this league due to all the new T.gems allowing so much build diversity. Love seeing all the trial and error discussed.

I was under the impression that Pain Attunement didn't affect dots with the "spell damage applies to damage over time" mod. Is mana RF different?
the mana RF has the line "Modifiers to Spell Damage apply to this Skill's Damage Over Time effect", so it scales with Spell damage
Yes, it gets scaled by spell damage unlike the normal one.
@@sperakhan7637 Historically this hasn't worked for Pain attunement specifically though. Like it doesn't work for wanding skills with the same verbage.

It's different gems and they scale different, but they're technically the same skill with how they act.

I am playing Vaal Ice Shot Deadeye right now. I like the kill speed but I am thinking about a steamroller type character (melee). What build should I look at That has a highish kill speed and is tanky?

Coruscating Elixir is why I'm hesitant to play another build like this, there's mobs that can drain your flask charges or prevent you from gaining them and while yes it's somewhat rare to run into these and you have that massive mana pool I've still died to that stupidity. Still will be interesting between Pohx, CaptainLance and onemanaleft to see what the build's final form will be like and how many mirrors deep.

Very suitable for new players. You have one of the best guides out there plus you don’t have to press one dozen buttons and can focus more on game mechanics. Just use Inquisitor version, not the mana stacking hierophant. It’s much cheaper and tested.
If you have Carpal Tunnel RF is _very_ easy on the hands since it is a “1 button” build.
It also makes a good league starter. The Life RF version got nerfed at the high end (yellow+ maps) but buffed at the low end (when you are still in the campaign).
Mana RF is hideously expensive but scales up VERY well.
Choices are good. :-)

I'm fairly sure that Pohx knows enough about mana stacking and RF to figure all this out on his own.

I've empowered as many maps as possible with blue.... they never once have "shit out currency". They really do play a different game than the rest of us. - made in jest. Not serious.

Life rf is better than ever. They removed the flat fire so only now it gets scaling from life. Went from 35% of your life to 70% but lost the flat. 😊

last season my RF alone was 6m+ since the change it lost 5m just in RF I just checked it in standard.

what was your build? if you scaled it with levels, now those only give aoe
Yes, they have removed the base fire damage from the normal version of the Gem. Before you would scale that base fire damage with lots of gem levels, but they removed it. They are talking in this episode about a new transfigured version of RF that scales off your mana and spell damage.

All the complainers on the forums when the patchnotes came out saying RF is dead, just self snitching how bad they are at the game. The literal creator of the build says it still is fine.
What they actually said was life RF was nerfed, lul.

He has 11k energy shield, so run energy blade and Arcmage support and your Righteous fire becomes righteous lightning, as you can feed your RF millions of base damage from energy blade.

We all knew this parch was experimental , i think removing the base dmg is ok just increase the percentage life to dmg so we go back to the old school tanky rf builds
