@princessmariposa828 a steak and kidney pudding would traditionally be steamed here in the UK. I bake em because I prefer a crust on the pastry but it's not how they're supposed to be cooked. And the other guy is right about pudding in the UK, there's many types of pudding that are completely unrelated apart from the name. "Pudding" is also interchangeable with "dessert" in many places here too. Often when i was growing up, someone in my family after a meal would ask "what's for pudding?"
@twatnosher for proper use of "the Queens English" , maybe yes. Many places, especially farther north, don't exactly speak "the Queens English" and have lots of phrases, sayings, names for things that would leave the rest of the country baffled.
I had a mouthful of breakfast cereal ( morning time here ) and almost lost it , watching Kay eat her pudding and say 'It's VILE ' LOL !! Love you Kay and thankyou for my early morning laugh . 😅

Hi Kay, me and my auntie love your videos so much , this is her recipe for tuna surprise she would absolutely love it if you made it for her, love you!!!!! Ingredients: * 2 cans tuna * 1 can (200g) sweetcorn * 200g pasta * 2 tbsp margarine or butter * 1 onion, finely chopped * 1 tsp lazy garlic * 2 eggs * 1 can cream of mushroom soup * 2 tbsp mayonnaise * 200ml milk * 1/2 cup peas * 1 tbsp lemon juice * 1 tsp thyme * 1 tsp parsley * Salt & black pepper * grated cheese * Paprika (optional) Method: 1. Prepare the Pasta: Boil the pasta in salted water. Drain and transfer to a large baking dish. 2. Cook the Base Mixture: * In a large frying pan, melt the margarine over high heat. Add the onion and lazy garlic, cooking until softened. * Stir in the eggs and the tuna, cook until scrambled and set. * Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. 3. Make the Sauce: * Add the mushroom soup, mayonnaise, milk, frozen peas, sweetcorn, lemon juice, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper to the pan. Stir well to combine. * Simmer the mixture gently for 10 minutes, allowing the flavours to blend. 4. Assemble the Dish: * Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked pasta in the baking dish. Toss lightly to ensure the pasta is coated evenly. 5. Top and Grill: * Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the top. For added flavour and colour, sprinkle a bit of paprika on the cheese (optional). * Place the dish under a grill on high heat and cook until the cheese is melted and golden. 6. Serve: * Garnish with a little extra parsley if desired and serve warm.
Kay, you didn’t use enough suet, and the pudding needed to be steamed not baked. The kidneys need to be cooked last as overcooking will make them rubbery. Too much pastry in the ramekin. But a good effort. Can you make a suet chicken pudding. Much the same as the steak you just done but use chicken, mushrooms and onions. A white wine sauce. You could use the chicken soup or mushroom soup. And to steam you need a large pan half filled and the ramekin wrapped in tin foil. Put into the pan and cover with a lid. Thirty minutes. You will need to top up the water, use boiled water out of the kettle to keep the temperature up. .
Was waiting for a thumbs up, as she always does even when the end product isn't that good, but I was blown away when she used the word vile... and no thumbs up... I sense improvement. Good attempt though.
This is STEAK & KIDNEY PIE suet pastry is lovely if done correctly can be baked or steamed you over work the pastry to much water and excess flour upset the recipe balance a dusting is sufficient not half a bag full!!!! meat and kidney cooked to death as usual so that's going to be tough why didn't you cook in water with onions then made the gravy from the water? that bloody frying pan 🍳!!!!! trouble is you cut corners so expect horrible results 😊
Hi Kay. So exactly what part of the supermarket would you find suet? The only place I could find it is in the pet product aisle. Used as wild bird food. Is it safe to use that?
A suggestion for you Kay. It looks like you’re using an electric hob that takes a while to heat up. You’re best off setting it to the level you want it at then waiting 5 to 10 mins before adding anything to the pan. That way the pan will have reached temperature before you add whatever you’re cooking in it.
Do you actually like anything that you cook as you don't know i don't like pastry kay don't do it then lol wowzers hahahaha come on kay you silly sausage

Please, Kay, watch a video on how to make one. You still haven't cooked a steak and kidney pudding. Next time, please do some research on the dish in question 🙏
Oooooo Kay, as a Yorkshire girl who has lived in Ireland for 25, I miss all the lovely comforting dishes that you serve up. I don’t care what you think of the pastry, I would have eaten your portion as well as my own. My stomach is growling now 😢 love you loads from Ireland xx
Kay steak and kidney pudding Is supposed to be steamed not put in the oven so that’s why it should take a long while at least an hour to cook as it’s a steam pudding not a pie that goes in the oven and posture was definitely too thick, but other than that it was fine. It would’ve been cooked alright if you’ve cooked it for longer and you steamed it..💖🐩🐩💖👍👍🕊🌈

Hello Kay, it was me who asked you to make this. Thanks so much. Great job. Love your videos!

Why is it all over the cooker and the wall
Did you not see how much it was spitting? That prob why it all over the wall, lol.
The only reason the pastry was horrid was because it was raw. Raw pastry is dangerous to eat!.😮
So much rolling, so much flour, so little skill. Come on Kay, you've made pastry and cooked meat so many times now.
