I think WL Toys should sell the Roller Version of these Buggies. They are a Very good platform to develop RC Projects.

Hi , I had all the same issues , new , Dumbo transmitter receiver , new 3900kv motor and 60amp ESC , new up graded metal spur gear cogging gone , until the battery get low .
30 mph , is standard for the bushed on 2s out the box and 40 mph on 3s if you want to risk it the 124018 brushed is one of my favourite RTR , that why I bought the brushless , to be fair to bang good they gave me a partial refund , after weeks of emails , alot of hours to make it right , but it run great , not put a 3s in it yet as it I plenty fast on , 2s . Great content pal cheers

I just spent $160 on a new 124016 and got the version 1. I’m so disappointed that they are still selling v1. I even asked the eBay seller Helidirect and he said he just got them in a month ago. It was for my son too :-(
No no! That is wrong! That is a defective product. Contact ebay and inform them that due to it being defective that the company made a fixed version 2 and get your money back! Terrible they are still selling them and make sure to give helidirect bad feedback.

Hey john i got a question, i got a brushless kit for my wltoys 144001 and it has the worst cogging problem ever. What sensorless motor would fit in it? Id like to try the motor before the esc to see if its just that. And also what about a servo? The one that came with the kit is trash. Its been sitting around for too long and i just need help from someone thats not a complete ass. Thank you for your videos!
Hey John, Are you breaking in the motor before testing? And are the esc's on the brushed motor versions programmable at all?
Hiya. Not on the brushed ones no as from experience with the WLToys, there is no real benefit. I will keep it in mind for the next test though. 😊👍
Hi John. Great vid. I almost bought 4 of the 124016 before I came across your site. Do you have any idea when you will receive the upgraded version? I'm going to hold off until I see reviews of the upgraded version. Am curious to know if they are using a new motor mount as their video shows installing new motor with a 19T pinion without any modifications. Keep up the good work
Good morning. I am glad you did not buy 4 of the 124016 in its current state. You would have been really disappointed. The version 2.0 has been sent out but when it will arrive I am afraid I do not know. As soon as I receive it, I will put the version 1 up against version 2! 😊👌 Sorry for the late reply. 😧

I got the 124018 and my remote doesn't works well when I change the Trim the car gets faster and the wheel changes at the same time and when I Change the TH D/R the car changes the wheels instead of getting faster I don't know what to do
Is it possible to like reset the car ? Would help alot

That is weird that the 018 is slower than usual my 018 and 019 did 54/55 out of the box.
I know. Same as the brand new 144001. That's why I joked that have they made them slower. All of my 144001's hit 55-60 out of the box so weird for sure.
@@JohnRobinsonRC i'm wondering if there is more grease in the new versions that might slow them down? older versions had hardly any in there as you know John, what else could it be.? slower batch motors perhaps.?
maan that's terrible to see that cogging and transmitter problem over and over on these models, wltoys should never have released these brushless models before extensive testing however good to read that they are "upgrading" or amending with next same version buggy+ 124017.proof will be in the pudding so to speak..should be a recall on the old models in my opinion...thank's for the comparison John.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Ironically by upgrading it they have admitted to being at fault....? They should ship out the new electronics to those that have the original car.... 👍👍😎
@@JohnRobinsonRC hehehehe yeah pretty much..yes that's a good idea ship the "new upgraded electronics" as a good will gesture not admittance of guilt. all in all geez it was very easy to avoid this damage to brand name situation, just test models in real outdoor life before release and faults will show quickly geez not rocket science..
For sure. Testing was not done on these cars at all. That's clear. They could easily send it to me and I will tell them exactly what is wrong. 😁😁😁🤣🤣😂
@@JohnRobinsonRC hehehehe i bet you could, why not hit em up to be pre release field beta tester, i think wltoys need that safety net in place..i know probably not the platform to whine about things like that but i just don't get wltoys thinking and i like some of what they brought out "i own only rc's from them atm", how can it be so HIT and MISS ,i don't get it..
I did have communication with them but they deliberately sent a 144001 out just before prerelease of the promised 104001 and then they started getting funny with me. It's a shame as you say because they desperately need external testers.
Their brushed models are fine. Brushless has been a disaster and considering their size of company, there is no excuses..... Money talks more than customer service but its so narrow minded. I have gotten so many messages here and privately on Facebook saying they will never buy another wltoys again. Quite Frankly I understand why.
Hey John ...it's sad to see what Wltoys cars has come to ...you would think they would take the hint ..cogging ..speed and inferior engineering...it's sad to say I'm getting to the point of settling with and maintaining the cars I've got and say .. Nada .. to any new products ...therefore finding a new product to invest my money and energy ...it's sad but 🤔😖 John has shown us ✌😁👍
