Kmart in Australia started as a joint venture between US KMart and Coles (an Australian supermarket chain) but Coles eventually bought out US KMart's share.
I have read and watched YT videos about 'natural' aquariums where the detritus is left in a tank to breakdown and be absorbed into the sand substrate to become nutrients for the plants. I suppose this would only work if the detritus load was light.
My cories and khulis rotate the substrate in my 12 gallons. Only tank I have detritus issues with is my shrimp tank. But I just vacuum the substrate. I just have to wait till babies get bigger so I don't accidentally siphon them out 😅
6:42 hold up! Y’all still have K-Marts?! All ours closed 😂

Yeah Aus Kmart isn’t nearly as good as the one you Americans had but it’s still great

This definitely does work in large or heavily planted aquariums where the chance of an ammonia spike is a lot lower :)
