It's time to find out: Boyar VS Teutonic Knight | Age of Empires 2

Which one do you think is stronger? The Elite Boyar of the Slavs with the high melee armor and hit points, or the Elite Teutonic Knight of the Teutons with the huge attack damage and the extra melee armor of the bonus of the Teutons?
What are you thoughts on them?

The TK is no doubt more powerful, but I get better return out of the Boyar because it's more effective against monks and siege weapons.
My favorite strategy is to garrison TKs in a castle after crenellations so they can take out garrisoned rams with ease (unless they come with Jaguar Warriors or Samurai). But in other scenarios, I think the Boyar wins. Teutonic Knights are target practice for ranged units even after getting a faster walking speed of 0.88 TPS.

The recent buff makes the TK ridiculous OP and cost-efficiency over most other infantry except Samurai/Jarguard and monsters like Obuch or Urumi. The original TK was already excellent in melee combat as an infantry unit and they still decided to buff its combat stats instead of sacrificing some for a bigger mobility buff

TK is by no means op, in matter of fact they are generally VERY useless.

@@andreassandsmark55 They are useless against range and siege units like most other infantry except some weird ones like Huskarl, Woad Raider, Eagle, and Gulam. In the traditional context of infantry like melee fighting and destroying buildings, they are beasts. You know they are OP when they can trade cost-efficiency even with the heaviest cavalry unit by raw power instead of relying on the ridiculous amount of bonus damage

@@andreassandsmark55 Thats all based on the fact that the aoe 2 meta has been dominated by Cavalry and Archers for 20 years. If the devs changed the game to accommodate Infantry more, Teutonic Knights would blast off the charts alongside Urumi, Legionaries, Jags and Sams

I mean yeah, you went for total resources and the Teutons won hands down anyway.
But since both Slavs and Teutons have insane farming economies the food cost can be entirely ignored. Slavs farm faster and Teuton farms are cheaper (allowing more farms maintained pro lumberjack)
And comparing only gold costs only, the Teutons would even totally wreck Elite Boyars with just castle age Teutonic Knights.
The Teutonic Knight just is an absolut melee beast. Sad that they are so very useless apart from quick castle defence.

the worst about these exanges, are the cost amount that are not even equal, as the boyars are so much more gold intesive than the teutonics knights, with the teutonics cheap farms behind
