- Are you interested in becoming a helicopter pilot? If so, there are several important factors to consider. First, you must meet the age requirements before applying for the proper certification to become a helicopter pilot.
According to the FAA, you must be at least 17 to obtain your private license and 18 to get your commercial license. The main difference between the two licenses is that you are eligible for payment with a commercial pilot license. In addition to being at least 18, a commercial license would require you to have your private license, keep up to date on the FAA medical exam, possess 150 flight hours, and pass written, oral, and practical flight exams.
To become a pilot at Maverick Helicopters, you must have your commercial license and a total of 1,000 flight hours. For more information, please visit: • Helicopter Pilot Fligh...

I'm going to be going back to school to get my rotary-wing license do commercial flight any advice I plan on using my VA retrain
Retiring from Indian army. Is it possible anyhow that i can grab a job?
Hi, my name is Jorge. I’m an Army vet and currently working as a Paramedic but thinking of a career change. Do you have any advice on how to become a helicopter pilot in California?
Hi Jorge, this is awesome to hear. One thing we recommend is to do a Discovery Flight to see if flying is for you. You can then research flight schools in your area. 😀
What are the costs to become a commercial pilot?
It varies depending on how much flight time you need. From private pilot all the way to CFII expect between 90 and 120 grand.
You have to retire at 65 though.
True. But many pilots start flying at 18, which is a long time for commercial pilot work. And even though the retirement age is 65, you could still fly privately. 😀
True but no one will hire you after 65.
I am 33 and am in Germany i am thinking to become a helicopter now is it too late ???
Is 31 too late to start?
Not at all 😀
