I have never met the man. I have read his books, watched his shows. I have found myself hearing his voice while events are unfolding in my life. He is my spirit animal. I miss him every day.
I wouldn't go that far lol
_" I have never met the man [but] I have read his books..."_
Unlike far too many books printed today Anthony wrote his own. The words you read were written by him. Many times you will learn more about an author from his written words than you will from a face-to-face chat. You met him by reading his books.
I feel you, this man inspired me to become a full time nomad and a slow traveler. For last 3 years I've been living out of suitcases and enjoying every bit of it.
that's sad
@@remote3652 how do you make money? i romanticize with these lifestyles and never understand how i make stable enough income to support them.
Having noodles late night with an ice cold beer with your friends is one of the greatest pleasures in life and it makes me happy to see this episode wrap up the same kind of way. I really miss you tony. You gave us an authentic window into the wonders of food and culture around the world but you also showed how special food brings us all together regardless of culture.
I couldn‘t have said it better.
Never had friends surprised i haven't done an Anthony Bourdain
The word legend was meant for this guy. The world is a less interesting place without him. RIP big man you inspired my travel adventures. 😢
Yeah this world's not as cool as it was I agree still hurts
Please keep these alive. This is Tony at his best.
Thanks OP!
He had a crude charm that was always welcomed!
These are just incredible to see after reading the book many years ago, what a trip...what a man. Miss him terribly, and this earth is far worse off without him in it. Rest in paradise Tony.
The sausage part was legendary. Tony is the best!!
Hi, I'm Tony Bordain and I'm a roadside sausage addict.
I like the way Tony always went to the smaller spots and more unknown parts ;;) RIP TONY
His producers picked the spots and he just went with it. *Edit* His producers and fixers
@@blackadder155able He studies his spots 2 of them where i live specifically The Delta and Houston he comes to the same spots everytime he was around or in town with or without the producers as well. HE KNOWS GOOD FOOD AND GOOD PEOPLE
That's why his shows were always good.
Kinda the opposite of Guy Fieri
@@runswithraptors facts sad but tru
Rule 1: Get the hell away from the hotel as quickly as possible
*jogs out of hotel*
The beginning of this particular video is touching. He really felt that way. Beautiful poet, beautiful soul.
I never met him either, but somehow I felt I knew him. I really miss him.
Growing up, Tony was usually on the TV in my house. I think I learned more about different cultures from him than school ever could
Love this comment!👍
Hands down the best food shows ever made. Thanks for making me smile man.
Only celebrity death that shook me... I miss my road sausage addict. These cooks tour episodes are severely underrated.
"Dreaming of food while eating food..."
I often engage in this activity
That makes you a connaisseur my friend , bravo
Thinking about what I want to eat next while currently indulging in what I was thinking about the day before.
I’m the same way. I try to eat healthy as much as possible and then I break down and eat the most unhealthy things just because I cannot get them out of my head
I hope he knows now how much the world loved him. You are a legend, Tony. And you are sorely, sorely missed.
Cooking TV shows will never be the same I find myself rerunning his shows all the time sadly missed :)
This was the TRUE Tony before CNN
Anthony hurrying for the sausages really made me chuckle. Men need their meat!! Live this man. Gone too soon my friend. Hope to see you on the other side.😉🧚♀️😉
Dude, papaya salad is the best! And nothing beats a good street BBQ sausage. 😎
Som Tam is a favorite. I make it back home in Canada. Minus the dried baby shrimp. I can't believe he said its the best but didn't say its name or what is in it ... lol
What a cool job he had but I fear it was too lonely for this very engaging man. Gone too soon. See ya on the other side.
You hit it right on the nose!
I like this man full of love for the simple human everywhere. We needed more tonies on earth.
Miss you Tony, love that I can always come back to your awesome shows. You were one of a kind!
I like how he snuck in some Sartre. True genius
I do my best to channel this guy when I travel. See everything, taste everything, meet interesting people amd experience their perspectives on life.
Love the culture and people of Thailand, especially Chang Mai. Thanks for everything Tony.
Chiang Mai.
cooks tour is so much fun. pacey punchy funny
roadside sausage really is the best, but it's also the wurst...
Hahaha 🤣 😆
When ordering the papaya salad you can specify exactly how many chili peppers you would like them to use to arrive at your perfect "heat" level. It will usually take several attempts before you get it right. Most Thai people use many more chilis than I do.
This is why I love tony this is incredible
Heroic content rest in peace
Miss you so much
no one does shows like how he did.
The Man
The Myth
The Legend
The World misses you so much, Tony!! You left us way, way way, too, too soon!! You still had more to show us and teach us. You were here for a short time but accomplished so, so much. It says so much when the world mourns 😢😢your passing. You had a gift for storytelling, that's for sure! Now, who can and will tell us stories? I will always forever miss you, Bro!! ❤ You passed a day before my Dad in 2018. May you be resting in God's arms. ps- im sure God is eating way better now!! 😢
Chiang Mai is one of my favorites for sure.
The food is great, the people are friendly, and the pace is relaxed.
Woah, never knew this show was so artistic
We miss you Tony 😭😍😎
He really has it in for the Denny's Grand Slam, doesn't he! 🤣
Damn, those roadside sausages look SO good!! Damn Tony, we miss you so much...
Haha I remember growing up in Toronto Ontario high as shit and wondering around finding new places to eat. Some of my favorite memories. And yes, I was a pot Head with the munchies lol
He is my hero
He is the best of the best of all we miss you Anthony.
That family was smokin out, dippin, and piggin out. Sounds like southern Louisiana lol
getting me through it. thanks anthony
Crazy. When I was in Chang Mai i popped in here just randomly off the street. Had no idea it was a great spot. Food was awesome. Was at Aroon Rai in 2018... Awesome
Those sausages looked like would be pure fire on a piece of French bread with a tiiiinnnyyyy squirt of mustard.
Not really, Issan sausage are not like western sausages tastewise. These are heavy on the aromatic herbs and spice. Earthy and herbal. Sub the bread for sticky rice and the mustard for nam prik. 👌
Damn, this show was good.
There is no doubt on the papaya salad. Every tastebud lit up! Oh south east asia how I miss thee.
Love! The fact that he says.. as a cook, not the Chef!! Huge difference!.. Chef's would know. Great Writer @ story teller YES! good cook? Maybe.
Lol his reaction to the papaya salad after his suspicions about the thing
A Penfolds wine bar sign at the noodle place. Strange and wonderful indeed!
we miss you Chef !
I mis u n love u My
Idol rest in PEACE
MAY GOD BLESS UR SOUL
3 Ads before I can watch video
Way to go youtube
You know, I like Denny's Grand Slam breakfast!
Bourdain should have left his hotel in Kaysersberg, France.
Epic
Dammit Tony!!! We sure miss ya.
So many interestings things about this Man He choose to leave at the top of his Game. Who could fault him
Any Thai people: At 4:50... is that Yam Sam Krob? Looks like fried fish maw and cashews... my favorite dish... hard to find these days.
Tony did not kill himself, he went "Bamboo!"
In my life I have two kinds of getting lost .one is I made a wrong turn somewhere I've never been I make it into an adventure if possible . The other kind of lost is I know exactly were I am but no one else does. On the second kind my phone is definitely off.
RIP 🙏🏼
Sorely missed
I'm ready for some droppings! 💋
Madness 😂🫨
These keep barging in my recommendations every day and I love it.
Watching stuff like this makes me want to quit my job move to Thailand and retire. God that would be insane if I actually did that. Still though....
Go for it!
I did it, so can you! But I have a Thai wife so that makes it a little easier.
RIP 🙏🙏🙏
George gave me my very first job at that exact numero uno I was in charge of the bread and tortillas and "nacho" was a homie from high school 😱😱😱
“I have no idea what’s on these signs” *standing in front of a 711*
RIP Anthony
ahh thailand, the last frontier for adventure
Damn it!
His “thoughts” and narrations are reminiscent of Bukowski….he TRULY was ONE of a kind in his own right
At 10:44 Tony identifies 'sweet basil', but in Thailand it is known as 'Holy Basil'
don't ask me why.
can anyone watch these episodes without eating or drinking? ive been trying for years but still cant
I hear an olympus point and shoot at 16:52
So sad! If only…..😔
“There’s absolutely nothing bland about Northern Thai food…” So basically, what he’s saying is, “Sorry British people but you probably wouldn’t like Thai food because it isn’t bland” 🤣
No Durian allowed in the hotels or airplanes!
it is the King of fruits! looks like a solid white custard, stinks like a latrine,
and tastes like slightly sour milk. That doesn't even do it justice, it's a great fruit!
A challenge to his sobriety such as it was, off the road gastronomy , enriches but can also overload the balance the epicurean disdains .
Lol u talk gay
Is hinting at his suicidal patterns
Does anyone know the song at around 5:36 mins?
every song is made by the network
I just love the early 2000’s aesthetics. Corny and cheesy all at the same time!😂😍👏
Roadside sausage addict hahah
in a way i wish i could
he did it justice!
Road side sausage addiction is not a joking matter
Looks great can’t eat the shrimp
"Roadside sausage addict", that can mean many things.
Rip
One word: 'Sausages!'
I wonder how many times that all the world food travelers had bacterial intestinal infections or worse ?
Thats the risk of discovering amazing food
Tony on great form here. I think he liked the Far East.
I hope he burned that shirt. Love you Tony!
A road-side sausage in Chiang Mai put me and my girlfriend out of action for over 24 hours.
I would of loved being lost with him
He had everything to lose
Lol, how many breakfasts did Tony have? I don't know how he does it, and where the food all goes since he doesn't gain any weight. I'd turn into a little porker if I ate all that.
I really want to overcome my aversion to the smell of curry, but I can't seem to. Anyone know a curry sauce so delicious, which also doesn't have a pungent smell, that I should try?
Just make it from scratch. Onions/garlic/tomato/paprika/turmeric. That way you can decide how much to put in or what not to put in. Can always add some water too
@@Gorre022 Good advice. However, I should have been more specific: I rent out a second floor of a home and the man (aka landlord) who lives downstairs (where the kitchen is) is obsessed with me so I avoid him at all costs.
I am looking for advice for a common curry sauce found in restaurants. Thank you for the suggestion though.
japanese style curry is generally a lot more mild than most indian styles..you can find roux cubes for the gravy
There are soooooooo many different curries. Not all of them get used with coconut milk: it’s possible that the curry in coconut milk modality is what you’re not liking. There are sooooooooo many different combinations, I bet you’ll find some that you like in the future 🤗
