Anthony Bordain is dear friend of the Vietnamese people. Thank you Anthony and we hope you’re enjoying a big bowl of Pho each morning in heaven.
💔♥️
😢
Vietnamese food, according to Mr Bourdain, is the best in the world..I believe him😘😇🙏❤️
I luv vietnam
It hurt a lot when he said, “life is good.” I wish he stuck around for long enough for it to become good again for him. RIP Bourdain.
You actually believe he killed himself? Do some research!
3:24 "Damnit it's good to be alive". I wish Anthony could have had a few more days of that. RIP.
If I woke up and went back to time in early June 2018, I would tell him to quit his cnn job and move to vietnam and don’t look back
You cannot encourage people like Anthony Bourdain who is French American borned in the United States to remain a joined regular French colonist.
As a Vietnamese, I love this episode so much not only because of Anthony himself but also because of the level of production. I can even hear the traditional music in the background. What a show
I’m not Vietnamese, but I enjoy watching Anthony over there. He seemed to love it. This is a good episode.
"There's a link, a bond between life, family and food in this country. And I cherish the moments I have here".
Thing like this quote hit so much harder now that hes gone. Its pretty awesome to be able to have been alive at the same time as such a person
I lived in Southeast Asia for close to 15 years. Spent the bulk of that in beautiful (gorgeous!) Indonesia. About 8 of those years were spent living out of a tent, riding my bicycle with all my belongings strapped to the back. Had the great fortune of seeing every country in the region. Towards the end of my life there, I finally made it to the one country that had evaded me until that point: Vietnam. Cycled in from Yunnan, China and made my way down to Danang via the Ho Chi Minh Highway. Really lovely ride.
I made a plan to spend three full days exploring all that I could in Hanoi. By the end of 7 days, I pried myself away with a somewhat heavy heart. It’s the loveliest city I’ve ever seen. And for my money, it has the best food in a region chock full of amazing cuisine. It is the best of the best. I’d return in a heartbeat if only to have one more meal.
I don’t know him personally, but watching his videos made you feel like he is your friend. Love the guy n his show. Rest In Peace Mr Anthony Bourdain
For someone who was born in ‘89 can I just say that these old videos are so comforting. Such a different world back then.
I cant imagine how all of the people that have done shows with Anthony feel when they watch these videos. We all miss you Anthony and the world wont be the same brother. God rest your soul.
que grande perdida, un hombre tan sabio y con una mega personalidad,la depresion es terrible!
He's gone but his legend will stay forever.
Every time I watch Anthony Bourdain I cry
Same here.
Thank god I’m not alone
Tony Bourdain is my favorite food commentator. He is more sincere, genuine than most of others doing the same thing. It's so tragic that underneath all of this kindness, openness to other people and their cultures, lurks a permanent depression which ended up taking his life.
Hanoi is my birth city but I never knew it and don't plan to. My parents escaped to Saigon in 53 and took me with them.
Anthony was a sincere and genuinely cool guy. Very thoughtful of other people and awesome.
@@mojogustavo336 Breaks my heart he wrote a lengthy apology email to his first ex wife of many years asking her for forgiveness for hurting her and causing her pain. He was struggling for many many reasons 😢
@@iraidushka depresion por la ex mujer? o seria por las drogas?
It wasn't the depression. It was his horrible b**ch girlfriend CHEATING on him and rubbing it in his face by going on TV with the she was F ing. Then she LAUGHED at him being upset by it. It was too much for him. She has suffered no consequences, she's a murderer and an evil POS.
I love watching him.
23:10 props to the producers for using actual vietnamese traditional music and not some generic asian/chinese soundtrack
I still miss Anthony every day 😞😭. He was the best!!
3:24 shatters my heart every time. You experienced the best of humanity but also glimpsed into its abyss and the abyss looked back at you. Be at peace chef. It was an honour meeting you.
Anthony eating Pho shatters your heart?
@@Jon....... Not at all. Just focus on what he says.
@@bluemountainagantuk I did. I found it ironic, not heart shattering.
@@Jon....... That's amazing, thanks for sharing!
That line hit me as well. Rest in peace & memory eternal.
Finding these older shows is great. He always did love Vietnam the most.
"Can you see why I love it here?" I can, I can see you love your friend, Linh :-)
A look of happiness hiding a dark depression. You are missed very much Anthony.
If you feel dark, speak up. If you feel alone speak up. If you feel like there's no going on, please, please speak up. The loss left behind is immeasurable. The sorrow is indescribable.
In today's times it is ok to speak up.
R.I.P. Anthony. You are missed more than you could have ever known.
If you have something to say about the Clinton's.. Maybe keep it to yourself.
muy hermosas tus palabras, ❤
Thank you for posting these videos!!! These are treasures to all of us!!
So glad you're enjoying them, Charles! You can also stream them for free on the GoTraveler app on your TV and phone.
Yes I agree. Anthony was such a treasure. I love traveling with him during the plandemic (oops). TY so much sharing this very cool, treasured man.
@@joanneanderson6535 yea oops shut up. What was the plan then give me an explanation. No one ever does they just keep spouting plandemic without explaining.
@@Slayerx2010 Tf are you on about?
I hope Anthony Bourdain was not killed.. how come they don't have the photos of this particular incident They definitely would have seen, shown, thought to do so with a man like Anthony Bourdain at the time
Anthony did always seem happier in the East and South Asian places
bourdain really made me proud of my culture and ignited my curiosity. I try and savor every dish my mom makes and learn from her
My daughter visited Vietnam. She was very impressed with the kindness of the citizens and she LOVED the food!!!! Hopefully, I can visit there one of these days. Additionally, I must say that the food at the Lin family looked absolutely DELICIOUS!!!
I agree, I was born in Vietnam and Tony made me really want to go back and visit. I had no interest prior until he said he’d pick Vietnam if he could only live in one place
I hope you have been learning your Mum’s cooking. If your Mum is a good cook, then lf she is happy to teach you to cook the good food, that is one of the MOST precious acts of love she can give you!
Anthony, you are truly missed!
Because of Anthony I am going to Vietnam (Hanoi) in two months. I've wanted to for years because of the way he talks about it.
Good to be alive... u said it Tony... we love n miss u
I just blasted into tears when he said that.
@@emjd2009 hahaha
Miss you Tony. Which year was this shot? Vietnam/Hanoi has changed a lot in 2022. Tradition is slowing being replaced by the phone generation and modern nuclear family culture. What scares me is in the next 50 years, will we still have the loving grandmas cooking family dinners? The uncles riding bikes 200km from village to meet in the city? The unannounced cousin showing up at your place middle of night? The family bonds across multiple generations? Time changes everything- let’s see what it does to Vietnamese spirit. Sometimes, the future is not the best.
Possibly early 2000. Looks like it anyway
I miss Anthony Bourdain Rest In Peace. I grew up watching No Reservations as a child.
This is literally what I used to watch all the time
Every episode is authentic and beautiful! Nobody's ever done it the way he did. U can almost taste the dishes he describes. Fantastic.
I am good with the rat with MSG. They put MSG into everything.
I didn’t realise he had been doing this for so long. What I find amazing - and encouraging - he got much better looking with age and silver hair.
man i miss him. He is and always will be treasure to us foodies!
They are an odd friendship, he’s so tall, him short, one Asian & one Westerner. He was the only guy that I loved watching him eat Vietnamese food and love it. Rip, AB. Miss your shows. ❤️💖♥️
His love for the people and the food of Vietnam is so real. We lost a good soul. RIP A.B.
Anthony Bourdain sure seemed like a cool person. I am surprised he died in that manner. Because he seemed to have an appreciation and zest for life. Salutamu Anthony!
This the most remarkable video. He was so less cynical than a lot of the older ones. Had forgotten about these. It makes so happy to see his early years
i can see why you loved it Tony...
There will never be another Anthony Bourdain, you know, his charm, wittiness, snarkiness, friendliness, good manners when the occasions called for, and most importantly his kindness, being big or small, words or deeds, he made good, lasting impressions to so many who were fortunate enough to have met him, known him, and loved him. The one that is coming close second, but can't replace Anthony is Gary Butler. Gary possesses all those aforementioned qualities, though not as fluid as Anthony, but Gary loves food and people & always eager to travel for food & trying new dish. I miss you, Anthony Bourdain, but Gary is curing the emptiness of your absent. RIP.
I think tgis is one of my top 3 videos. You can see how really passionate he is about their cuisine and aopears he is in his comfort zone. Even dressing up in a suit. You will be missed Toni!!
Love the food of SE Asia!!!!! Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma.
As well as East Asia. Korea and Japan.
I love this episode. The way he describes Vietnam like an old girlfriend really resonates with me. I've been traveling for most of my life, but the feeling I had the moment I first stepped off the plane in Hanoi instantly changed how felt about traveling
Two of my most favorite things in life, Tony Bourdain and Vietnamese Food! Cảm ơn! Miss and Love You Tony :)
Even though I never got the chance to meet you you’ve always been there for me. Rest easy Anthony.
I loved Anthony and his love and sincerity for all cultures around the world he will be truly missed
Tony, we miss ya! More than you can even imagine. But watching this video, along with the others, for a minute, you forget that he is gone. So this is very bittersweet.
Oh Anthony! I miss the Joy you brought to Us. Your voice continues to keep your spirit alive.
Anthony Bourdain is still the best food UA-camr. He doesn’t need to try hard to entertain audience. Just natural charm and passion. I’ve seen this episode many times and still not bored. RIP
Anthony bourdain was a sweet soul wish I would’ve met him. I never got to visit my parents family I love the food!
Miss Anthony: the show is never the same without him
I heart breakingly miss this man, Anthony Bordain....his views & philosophy makes me a better person......
Thanks again for posting these videos, after reading the book and listening to the audio, it’s great to actually see Lin. As he always does, Tony keeps us surprised no matter the way you tune in.
Gone but never forgotten, one of the true pioneers in food/cooking tv shows, right up there with the big legend names like Kieth Floyd, Marco Pierre White, and Martin Yan, to name a few
Always irreverent … but never boring, still miss Tony. He has inspired many of my beloved foreign travels. A true ambassador of the world!
He was so brilliant, so respectful to the world.
I love how it's old school
Love these Antony bourdain videos , thank you for bringing them to us, And so sad he is not with us in Person, a beautiful guy , rest in peace, and thank you for leaving us all these interesting insight to food and life " God Bless tony "" Brian Margolis falls church Va
I watched numerous episodes of Anthony Bourdain and I find his open-mindedness to the culture and people of the countries he visit to be so welcoming. I also spent extensive periods abroad, in lesser developed countries, and I find having the same mindset as Anthony Bourdain made the food, and the food experience, so much more enjoyable. I also find the people in those countries treat me so much better, as friends, and not as customers.
I would not put this place high on the list for travel but Anthony made it a must now. I will go there in honor of these great people and AB
What a beautiful video showing the gastronomy of Vietnam. A beautiful country with beautiful people.
I discovered how much I love food and different cultures when watching his show on Travel Channel.
Try as I might, the gut wrenching reality of how this man's journey on Earth ended makes these old episodes hard to muster. Tragic to most, beautiful to others.
so amazingly beautiful ❤️ those women outdid themselves
RIP Mr. Bourdain you were everything to the world. I miss you more than the Queen.
Miss this legend, can't think of a celebrity I have actually cared more about their loss.
This kinda made me sad when he talked about the snail soup. When my dad was dying, I told him to make up a last meal for my parents last Anniversary together. The ONLY darn thing I could NOT find was snails! But my parents had a great last Anniversary together any way. ( Yea, I couldn't afford the Dom Parion either lol, they had to settle for cheaper lol)
The big difference is not with whom you sit there to enjoy your food...it is where you will go after the meal. A sense of belonging is much more important than the meal...it doesn't matter how fancy the food could be.
Miss you dude dearly!!😥
He was so happy there 😭
I miss you Chef. I hope you're eating well in the big table in the sky. RIP.
3:32 "dammit its good to be alive " .. ( at this moment). Life. Fleeting. RIP
What a beautiful episode...thank you for sharing. RIP AB
Glad you enjoyed it, Thomas!
3:24 still gets me
Yes thank you!
Thank you for everything you gave us Anthony Bourdain!
I We Miss you here!
Wherever you are sure you are blessing
This specific episode is very close in editing, commentary, and aesthetic style to parts unknown it's evident he loves Vietnam.
Yes, he loved Vietnam. Thanks for sharing, Bob!
U always show the greatest respect 4 ever missed ,🙏❤️ Migwech 🔥
Sweetened condensed milk coffee is one of my favorite things
So miss him, thank you for posting these!! RIP ANTHONY!! 😥👃
Your shows warm my heart Tony, and make me yearn for travel and new foods again
He always recognized the local places that you may never see if you did things like normal Americans do things his deep appreciation for the hard work that went into these no shortcut fuel of the people sort of places are all about it was a humanitarian bridge of sorts for him uniting us under the great umbrella of elevated beasts
Anthony looked good and happy. I am glad he had this visit with Linh.
AMAZING GRACE HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SEND A WRENCH LIKE TONY, I ONCE WAS LOST BUT NOW IM FOUND, WAS BLIND, NOW I SEE. CALIFORNIA LOVE TO VIETNAM. 😎🎭✌
Wow !..,that coffee looks like motor oil..,i would love a cup !
_"Wow !..,that coffee looks like motor oil..,i would love a cup !"_
It's actually very easy to make. Most Asian supermarkets have Trung Nguyên brand Vietnamese coffee (the most popular and most exported) and the required phin filter for little money. Plenty of videos on YT on have to make it. Very good served with sweetened condensed milk over ice. FYI Vietnamese coffee is all robusta so its pretty high in caffeine.
@@brian-beeler sounds like a cup of heaven with the condensed milk. We are
Addicted to it because of nectar cream and chocolate snowballs in New Orleans... soooo good.
@@joshuagumpert8910 they do the same in jamaica. the condensed milk and blue mountain coffee is incredible
Thanks for reup the clip of legendary chef!
Anthony your a gem ❤ dearly missed
Thanks for posting this
It really hurts my heart to hear Tony say “it’s good to be alive…” because I wonder how that became not the case. RIP Tony.
Beautiful memories
GOLD God speed Tony
They knocked down a lot of shots. Anthony Bourdain seemed to be holding his own--so to speak.
This guy is very good. He should be working as a Chef. I'm sure he'll be very famous one day. :)
Maybe one day!
I miss him!!!
LOVE!!!
We all need a friend
Legend
This duo has such good vibes
But don't be fooled. Linh is an agent of the communist govt. He's there to make sure no one says anything freely to Tony.. and sure Tony doesn't say anything that the party doesn't approve of. Lihn is not a good guy. Say something wrong and you go to re education camp
Miss you around Tony. You are gone too early.
So nice 👍
Nice episode! I miss Vietnam
Eat some well today with fresh bread
He figured it all out before it began. 😌
This episode 🥹❤❤❤❤❤
So sad.
I loved him as a person and love his shows.
I missed him so much
