My wifes got a 2007 Astra Elite 1.8, with 110k on the clock. It actually drives like its still brand new. They seem to be built really well. Heated leather seats, and the Opera sound system is really loud !.
One of the prettiest hatchbacks of all time.
Shame about its dull interior
I have the 2008 Astra Elite 1.6
Nice Piano black interior
(With the orange 🍊 text on the dashboard set to the lowest light level ) 😂
Just enough to see it
Old Skool 90’s led (lcd?) on that screen 👍
My 2006 Astra SRi 1.9 CDTi 150 with 153k miles still drives absolutely perfectly. Great cars. This model was where Vauxhall really left behind their crap quality reputation. Think of the VW Golf Mk5 that came out the same year as this Astra H; the Mk5 Golfs are absolute rust buckets (on all arches) with lots of problems with injectors on the diesels. Now have a look at Astra H's on the road - no rust and 1000s of them are still running perfectly.
I bought an 07, 3 door with 90k miles on. I have done a few bits and bobs like wheel bearings and a service and I absolutely love it. I'm doing a bit of sound too now. Mine is totally stock What a gem.
The rectangular indicator stalk are designed so that you can use a single finger to push them forward and backward, on a round stalk it is impossible.
The high beams are changed by pushing the lever forwards for high beams and backwards for dipped beams, that way you never have to look at the instruments to know which light you are driving on.
This requires a flat surface so that the finger does not slip off.
I have an opel astra GTC H with 3ton Kilometer. Thats much. I had the engine and clutch replaced myself and the car feels and drives like new. Great cars
I have the ecotech 1.6 petrol 5door with 80k miles on the clock , the engine is almost factory clean, runs spot on. It'll pull 80mph down the motorway effortlessly so have to keep an eye on that speedo! Talking about speed mine only does 100mph witch i find greatly strange! It pulls really well right upto 100mph but then instantly hits a wall. Anyone else find this?? Could be electronically limited perhaps, Its a well built car for the money mine is standard but recently fitted a jvc stereo and omg the audio is better than the standard cd30 head unit. I think i got real lucky with this car purchase as i brought it second hand for £450, and i was worried that their would be something wrong , but everything checked out 🙏 and my interior is mint!!! I've owned many cars since i passed my test , and this astra is the best one I've owned so far. I count my blessings with this car considering how many second hand cars with so many issues and mine has litrally none! 👍
American here. I find these Astra H models in all the body styles to be beautiful, sharp cars.
My son had a 2005 1.6 four door breeze he owned it from new when he sold it had 160.000 on the clock it was starting to run ruff I put this down to only have it serviced every two years I now own a used 2015 1.6 diesel Astra J which I very happy with it has covered 52 thousand miles now the biggest thing I like is the average mpg of 58 mpg and 76 in sixth on the motorway my car gets serviced when the computer tells me so
I agree with the point on reversing visibility and the indicator storks I’m glad it’s not only me. The other thing that could of been better is the functioning of the gear box but I do love my 2010 SRI 1.6 3Door 🔥
I have a 2007 Astra 1.8 with 250,000 km, still drives better than most cards I tried!
Nice to see they are still on the roads and maintained
Seems like an underrated car, it's crazy cheap used (here in France) has the premium / sport look. The interior is a bit of a letdown IMO especially when compared to its exterior design, it's okay, deutsche designs have always been "uber serious" anyways.
Heard diesel engines has loads of issues and could potentially explain the low price on the used market.
Think I'm gonna grab myself one of these, from 1600€ to 3500€, there are a variety to choose from
Sweet I have a 05 model 1.4 with over 240,000km drives like brand new
King Cobra that’s good man. Must be well maintained
i just bought astra1.4l sri 5dr and pick up on saturday, happy it lasts .
Dont lie
Mine have 150.000 km 05 model 1.4 and it is in almoust brand new condition, inside and outside well , i m very proud of this old car ... i want to buy a new one but i don t want to sell it ... is very very cheap to maintain and run this car...
@@Archeros88 wait, so you have one 150,000 miles? Please I need your opinion, I just bought one ysterday at 126k, do these cars last for that long as in past 200k?
Loving the reviews
Cheers dude!
How much fuel does this opel use? What is its fuel consumption?
In latinamerica had come as chevrolet, that vauxhall/opel, Astra, when Opel, since 1982, works with Vauxhall in UK, it used to work with GM and Chevrolet, since 1997, the Chevrolet Astra CD, as we know here in LATAM, it was very popular, specially in Brasil, Argentina, Colombia, it was a good car, good devices, it had worked well, it used to be a popular car, here.
Thank you Liam
I have a 16 plate with 100k and it drives like it did straight out the factory

Is there a usb or way to connect your phone for music? And is the sound system good?
I’m wanting to buy a 2006 Astra 1.4 sxi with 220km on the clock and I might just do it because of this video !
Darragh Whelan be careful as you might come across a Sh*t tone of maintenance costs. Make sure you go for a test drive where you can drive up to 120kmph
ArmaganREVIEWS will do thanks!
ArmaganREVIEWS is there any major common problem that I should watch out for in particular that you know of?
Darragh Whelan not to sure but watch out for rust. Make sure to check underneath the car etc. For common problems check Astra forums - sure there’s some.
Selling my 1.6 5door the one with the body kit on.. and I'm really sad to see it go. I've looked after it and it has definitely been a good and very cheap car to own. I did just want to put z20let in it but gf not into that😪
Am looking to buy one, but an automatic variant. How reliable is it?
Wouldn’t buy an automatic given it’s baso GM underneath
@@ArmaganDemiral Thanks for that
Does it have an aux input in the car?
I think it might just be the sri
No it does. I've had SXI and Design and they both did, I think they all might, maybe bar the bog standard spec(s)
Better off getting a Bluetooth connection for your 12v socket about £10 from amazon and you've now got Bluetooth hands free.
It depends on what year the Astra is, if it's manufactured before 2008, then it doesn't have one, if it's 2008 onwards it has one, I've just purchased a Astra 3dr hatchback in October last year, and the aux input is located near the handbrake.
@Clifford Charles i have a 2007 1.6 3 door sxi astra and it comes with an aux socket just above the handbrake.
Its not the best place tbh as you may go through multiple aux cable leads with them breaking as your elbow will bash against it accidentally sporadically causing it to eventually break after having to fiddle around with it to get to annoyingly play
How do you check the engine temperature on these as they don't have a gauge on the instrument panel?
Turn on radio, press and hold settings button till it beeps (approx 10 secs), then press BC button and scroll through menu till you see OT , this is your temperature gauge , it should eventually reach a max temperature of approx 108 degrees, this is normal. You can turn the radio off and the temperature will stay displayed until the engine is turned off.
Hope this helps.
Shall we talk about the interior trim rattles. Chocolate M32 gearbox and the horrendous clutch judder that plagues these cars. I have one and I love it but I'm just waiting for my flywheel to self destruct and cost me a fucking fortune
I had the 1.6 sxi lovely car but spot on with the gearbox and clutch judder lol
Just got the 06 model 3d 1.6 hatchback
Does it have AUX
Auh tough question but I think it might do? 🤷♂️
@@ArmaganDemiral only from 2007 - 2010 has, near the handbreak
Vauxhall zafira b got a stopwatch
This is in Crewe
Yes it is
Great cars
Nic video thanks but you need a dead cat on your mic 😎👌🏼
Ahah this was a old video, audio is way better in recent vids
114,000 miles isn’t a lot at all
U sure pal
@@ArmaganDemiral ya man
I mean for an Astra it is as reliability I here for them is dogshit
Can i buy a 2010 vauxhall astra manual? Any advices will be appreciated.. Thanks
Yes you can buy one but no, it will most likely depreciate
@@ArmaganDemiral thanks for the reply.. It has got 75k km on it.. Price is 2000 pounds
@@Saif-xk1qm that’s pretty good value for 2 thousand pounds
@@ArmaganDemiral thanks..any idea about the fuel efficiency for a 2010 vauxhall astra manual?
@@Saif-xk1qm depends if you are getting a petrol or diesel dude
Can you connect your phone to play music?
I think you will need one of them AUX ports
For how much did you buy the car
It’s not my car but I’m assuming it isn’t much due to mileage. Maybe 2k???
ArmaganREVIEWS less than 1k id say for the petrol engines
Diesels are a more around the £1500 mark
07 plate is worth 700 to 900 depending on miles
