Thanks for the great review! I currently use a few of the XT2's and I'm not super impressed with that system. I get a lot of error messages... BUT, most of those issues are Sync Module related. The fact that these don't use the Sync Module, makes them very attractive to me!

I got 6 XT2's around the house and are really impressed with the system. When I got it I was wondering what's the reason for the USB A connection in the hub - would this be for local recording?
Another thing, is there a way to boost the connection between camera and hub to help fix weak links?

Is the unit compatible with the Amazon Fire Cube?
I hope I can actually take the base off because I got a window bracket for it that sticks to the window and I just push the camera in and it's attached to the window real cool, but the stand is still on it looks weird. I'll look closer hope it does come off. I also am having a problem with it syching to my wifi network, it wants to connect to a Blink network that is not secure? I'll have to call support for help I guess

I added a few of these to my existing Blink XT system. They integrate perfectly (with NO fees) and the motion sensor works much quicker because the camera is plugged into power and doesn't need to wake up before recording. The XTs always miss the first 2 or 3 seconds. The Minis record 3 seconds before any action appears. The only downside I've found is they will not provide real time video for more than 30 seconds. You have to constantly click on the "Continue?" button to see a live feed. So anywhere I want a live feed I use Netvue cameras instead.
Thanks for the post and I agree with you about the quick boot-up and am also frustrated about the 30 second viewing limit. I'm hoping that Amazon will eliminate that issue with a firmware update. I understand why they do it for the battery powered units but it's not needed for these since they have a constant power source. Rick

I need an answer for when it says "looking for camera" and it never connects. I've tried repeatedly to get it to connect and even bought a 2nd camera just to see if it's malfunctioning. It connects to the temp connect but it doesn't detect my wifi network even though the modem is less than 5 feet away. Sorry, just need some advice

I have the same cameras shown in the video. I ordered a three pack. One camera arrived in one box & a 2nd box arrived with two cameras in it. My issue is the box that has two cameras, only one of them has a serial # on the back so I was able to set that one up. I the other camera from the two pack is plugged in with blue & green light but the app wants its serial # to set it up. They are corded cameras with no batteries inside. I know the one with batteries inside you have to remove the back cover the see the serial # inside. These do not open up. I also get "live view failed". When I'm downstairs, I can't see the camera upstairs & vice versa. 1 gig internet connection & have a wi-fi booster on the first floor which is midway between the internet network access device in the basement. But internet is not the issue because there is never red lights.
This would be a great way for children to check up on an older parent. If they do not get a motion notification at certain times it might be time to check on grandpa. A livingroom or kitchen would be a good location

To update viewers of this video blink has added Extended live view which quoting from the website allows up to 90min of live viewing without user intervetion note this is only avaliable for the blink mini wired and floodlight wired
Also I'm currently in the process of buying a blink sync module 2 not the hub Rick is talking about I think but it's pretty much a device that let's you attach a USB storage device for local storage no subscription required

How do I add my Wi-Fi address? It keeps trying to give me a blink unsecured address
Viewing multiple cameras would be an app/website update and not a firmware update. The camera would be producing only one feed. It would be the responsibility of the app/site to display video from multiple sources. OK, perhaps the hub would need appropriate firmware. The app/site wouldn't need to have continuous feed from the cameras either, only a heartbeat to verify the camera is still there. Only when there's motion would it be prudent for the camera to send a feed. That's pretty much how security DVR software works.
Dan, thanks for the post and sorry if I was confusing but I think both the app and the cameras would need the update to be able to "handshake" with the app. Clearly the app would be responsible to display the various cameras but the camera firmware would also need to be updated to work with this new schema. Either way, it's a simple bit of programming to make this possible and I'll be a decent coder could make a bit of coin developing an app that did this with the ring (and Wyze) cameras. Stay tuned as I'll have more clips posting soon. Rick
@@Dronevalley I agree the camera could be enhanced to send out heartbeats, but in order to be recorded, the camera already has to transmit when it sees motion. All the app has to do is display what the camera is already programmed to transmit, but from multiple sources.
Hi Rick - I think you are great giving so much detailed info and realise you try to do this in the minimum amount of time, but some of us aren’t technos and would really like you to slow down a little. I feel exhausted by the time you have finished as you speak so quickly and total concentration is needed to take in all the points. I’m from the UK so maybe where you are from thats how everyone speaks🙂 anyway, you helped me so thank you.

How can you reset password I bought mine at Best Buy but Amazon is trying to get me to sign in to a account with them but I don’t want to I just you 3 for around house I’m disabled and can get a hold of my live in Aid when I need I fell the two weekends ago had to call 911 I’m lucky to have some of my mobility but I’ve been told by the Im going to lose it but enough about my memory isn’t the best I for got password and I’m trying to find a way to reset put I think someone else most of had connection because I unplugged it but the Motion detected would come on one we went to around in the house scary right so I unplugged all now what I do to try and them right to down load to my cloud Im disabled trying to save a dime

motion detection is inconsistent
Barron, the camera uses a detection system that is based on PIR (Passive Infrared) and is looking for the barrier between hot and cold around your body. It is VERY sensitive when you walk across it's path and less so when you're walking towards the camera. For the best detection, try and position the camera to catch motion in front of it from left to right or right to left and you'll be in better shape. I hope that helps and thanks for the post. Rick

WHOA!!! PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND SIMPLIFY!!! Nerds don't need all your information. They will open the box and know how to set it up without your video. Simple average people (like me) need a simple 1. 2. 3. demo. All the other info can come later. Pretend you are showing an 8-year how to set up the camera. And one more thing. NO ABBREVIATIONS. SAY THE FULL NAME OF ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. EINSTEIN wrote his books with simple words and short sentences. Please do the same with your videos
