I defenitly think that these videos are probably the best travel videos you can watch, and not just the Japan series I mean every travel video that's been released, I discovered this channel around a month ago and I don't think there is many vids I haven't watched now, the narrating is what separates it from other travel videos. I think this was the first time I've actually been excited for a yt video to come out! Keep em coming!
Boys, I'm gobsmacked. A fantastic mini series, superbly shot and edited, and you've summed up in a couple of hours why I love Japan so much, and keep going back. It's an incredible country that you never really appreciate until you experience it first hand. Safe travels gents.
Haha your loose plan of just walking down different streets and diving in to random bars proved to be the best strategy! Those guys giving you the free Universal tickets really summed up how welcoming and awesome all the locals are over there - they really helped in taking this latest film to another level, absolutely loved it! And then on the other hand when you tried to wing Mount Kōya it didn't quite work out unfortunately, but that still gives people watching this a great idea of how they want to travel and how much/how little they want to plan...every travel series you do is so useful, inspiring and entertaining. 5 stars. Keep on with the travels boys! Enjoy Australia Karl :)
The people... The scenery... The whole experience... It all seems so incredible. I am constantly in awe about the kindness that the locals bring. The environment can be a concrete jungle, a seaside view or a snowy town in the hills. It really just impresses me. So very glad I'm heading to Japan in September.
Brilliant film-making, Karl! It was highly entertaining and beautifully shot and edited. I got emotional hearing about your heartfelt assessment of the country that really seemed to resonate with you. Though I'm Japanese-American and from New York, I feel the same way whenever I visit my relatives in Tokyo - I never wanna want to leave Japan. You got yourself another UA-cam follower, and it's not just because of how well this doc was put together, it's your warm personality and heart you put into your passion. Keep up the fantastic work!
My girlfriend and I arrived in Osaka last night - I'm watching this at 7am waiting for her to wake up! Can't wait to get out and start exploring - love the documentaries
I lived in Japan for 3 yrs 22 yrs ago, in Osaka. I totally fell in love with Japan too and its lovely to see Japan has still got that same appeal. Japan is one of the best civilised countries I've ever been too. Had a wicked time, made loads of good Aussie friends, had great parties, and beautiful places to visit. It totally brought me out of my shell. But all them yrs back, there wasn't many Japanese that could understand or speak English
Man I have no idea how you dont already have at least 500k subs by now! Your videos are really good and get me very interested in backbacking. The quality of the videos are also really great. Keep up the good work!
So many people have told me that they love Japan and from everything I have seen it looks great but nothing has convinced me more than these videos, especially the end of this video, that I need to go! Good work!
ive been to japan in march for 3 weeks, and your litte talk at the end makes me just emotional man! i totally feel what you are saying! it's an amazing country to visit, you are part of their world and they accept you, they are happy that you are there without them wanting to get as much money out of you as possible. cheers Karl!
Thank you Karl and James, this was the best documentary by far. Japan will definitely be on my bucket list. Such an amazing place with the most warm and humble people!
After watching your videos I always feel this sadness, as if I'm coming home from an adventure because your videos always make me feel like I'm there right alongside you guys. I've been following you for years Karl and they just keep getting better, so inspiring! Who's coming to Japan with me? :)
You sound just like me when I left and I was only there for 7 days. What they say is true “ From now on I will compare every destination with Japan” I personally had no idea it would hit me that hard and I still think about Japan almost every day 3 months later. 😢
Ok part 2 just proved to me Japan is just as epic as I always imagined. And your closing summary firmly established that point too. Osaka looks so cool, as well as Kyoto 👍🏻Soooo want to go there now
The guy who gave you free Universal Studio tickets pretty much summed it up. Omotenashi which is Japanese hospitality. Thoroughly enjoyed the documentary/vlog. Personally been there twice. Will definitely go again.
What an amazing couple of episodes that was. Can't believe how much i wanted to keep watching. ♥️ Thanks for these amazing videos. I hope you get to goto japan again!
That's my Saturday night out on the town cancelled then!! Loved the first part...look forward to watching this with a few beers same as I do with all your vids!!
this is without a doubt one of the best travel documentaries i've seen. It really gives me a feeling of how Japan is and as i'm planning a backpacking trip there my self this has given me loads of new ideas! after seeing this documentary i have fallen in love with japan even though i have never been there. Thank you, and keep doing what you're doing!
Loved it👍 The scenery the hospitality the sense of adventure and open mind that you take with you wherever you go is what makes these vids so spacial and so unique. The respect you show to culture is an absolute credit for a young man. Well done Karl appreciate this so much.
I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching ep. 1&2 of this documentary you made. Karl and James, you guys are fantastic at what you do. I really felt like I experienced this with you. Thank you for letting me travel my favorite country in the world!! Looking forward to next time!!
I love James in your videos!! He comes forward as a very quite shy person, but actually he is the crazy one and the star of the party! Big fan of your content, cant wait for your next travel videos
Had a few beers on a Friday night loving this channel. Seem very chilled guys and great editing. Not dwelling on any one scene for too long. Hope you keep these up as much as you can. Cheers 🥂
I went to Japan for the first time in 2014. I have been back a futher 4 times. I plan on going next year for the rugby world cup then the 2020 olympics. It is without a doubt my second home. I am glad you enjoyed it :)
loved the 2 episodes. Going back to Japan for trip number 3 in November and this video has helped get me pumped again. It reminds me how amazing Japan is
This is probably the best mini-series / trip you’ve filmed so far. I think it helps that I’ve been to Japan, of course. Easily my favourite UA-cam channel too as you’re not, as far as I can tell, trying to be his big fancy celebrity or blatantly trying to grab sponsorships. It’s refreshing.
Thought this was one of your best yet, Karl. Just fantastic. Felt really connected in this documentary. Congratulations. And thank you for the inspiration to travel!
Yo, Karl and James! I just finished watching your Japan VLOG and what can I say(?), made my heart jump and melt. You guys inspired me so much. I was here because I have been anxious about my upcoming Japan trip next month. Your vlogs game me ideas. Thank you so much, man! I see myself in you guys. To more adventures!
Hi Karl, I just finished watching Ep 1 and 2 they were great! I never thought about going to Japan before until now. You made this tour so interesting and fun. James is a great side kick to your travel as well. The people there are so nice and happy which really makes for a fun trip without all the panhandlers shoving things in your face trying to sell. Limited leg action, but it looked a little cold for shorts most of the time. Keep your legs 🦵 up for the next trip. 🤓 Thanks again for a wonderful experience.
What an epic journey!!It makes me wanna get to Phnom Penh airport and get on a plane to Japan.I'm a fan for life...'cause you deserve credit where it's needed. Can't wait for the rest of your cool life to appear on the screen. May your travels be merry 😉
Awesome video! Glad I stumbled upon it. I'm going to Japan in September for a month as well and have all the same locations picked out as you guys. After watching the end of this I may extend my trip another month and go north. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing this great video! I'm glad I found your channel. Subscribed. By the way, the guy who is taller than others 5:03-5:09 is the mayor of Osaka City.

"It's hard to get lost if you don't know where you're going." Epic line! Story of my life. Greetings from Osaka.

Yeah looking forward to exploring once I recover from the flight in a day or two. Watching this while eating breakfast at the hostel.
osaka seems much more fun than tokyo or am i wrong?

Ditto, so much more enjoyable than most the tv travel shows
