My journey began in Cape Town, where I went cage diving with Great White Sharks, did a tour to Cape Point, visited the wineries of Stellenbosch and explored Robben Island.
Then I joined a G Adventures tour for the next 3 weeks travelling up through South Africa, into Namibia to see the Fish River Canyon, Dune 45, Big Daddy, went sandboarding and quad biking in Swakopmund before seeing the wildlife at Etosha National Park.

thank you for visiting my beautiful country,Namibia,And thanks for showing people the real AFRICA,not the ones they show on mainstream media.
Agreed. Our country is peaceful and has so much to offer! Proudly Namibian.
It's why I watch nature documentaries rather than the news about africa, I want to see the good not just the bad
Who needs Netflix when you have Karl Watson?
Karl Watson and chill? 😂😂😂😂
I'd be totally down for that! ;)
😍🙏🏼 yes
Cant agree more he does even better job that them xx
m8 we need karl watson on netflix
I'm from Kenya Africa.....and I think I've had a better experience going to Namibia than going to Dubai....i loooove it!! We go there every Christmas!!! I think they Documented it wonderfully!!! it shows how Africa is truly beautiful!
I also visit Namibia for Xmas. From Nairobi too.
There is something that united me to África! I love these continent... Greeting from México... Im sorry for my english
maybe you was from africa in your past life ;)

Come and visit us ☺️
Never apologise for a for a language your mum never taught you. Just acknowledge that your English is special. So will my Spanish sound special 😁🤭
I remember watching this video like a year ago. I wanted to go to South Africa for years and last April the time was there, but for the first time I had no one to go with, no gf and my friends could not or did not wanted. So because of this video, I took G-Adventures as well. I will never forget this holiday, it was really amazing, the 17 days hiking tour from Capetown to Jo-burg. Shark cage, hiking, the big five, bungeejumping, the food, the landscapes, the never ending mountains, it was all worth it. Also did prior to my tour three day tours to Cape Point, Stellenbosch and Gansbaai, what a coincidence lol. Will watch some more videos of you to do some inspiration for my next destination :)
That's amazing! That 17 day tour sounds sweeeeet!
Dude, you didn't need a gf. Cape Town has beautiful women. I get your point though
Took my first lsd trip in Gaansbay 45 years ago...
Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries my guy it’s trash driving from cape town to joburg let alone walking tf😂
I am not African.I feel happy that it is represented in a positive way here
I recommend Namibia highly, stayed in same places in etosha and saw way more wildlife than he did
Thank you 🙏🏾. Our country is awesome.
Thank YOu a million times, lots of love from Namibia
And people say "African countries are poor"😒These countries have the poweful african culture and beautiful landscapes. Gob bless Africa 🙏 Next time, try Cape Verde 😉
Danni Hjøllund Karjaälainen There are poor parts of Africa and the media choose to focus on those parts.
just shut up...ignorant person. you just jealouse because you cant go there!
Do you know Cape Verde? Ma country still not know by alot of persons worldwide as alot other island nation
@@weetbix4497 You are correct. Africa is beautiful and one of the best places to visit. but to deny it's poor? Also some countries are richer than others(South Africa is far richer than Tanzania for example)
My dad took me in South Africa last christmas for 3 weeks. Skydiving, hiking, safaris, swimming in the ocean.... so many nice memories
I live in Namibia 🇳🇦 Happy that you enjoyed it here💯✨😁Come back soon💃🏽

Trying to inspire people to learn about cultures one by one!
I'm surprised that Karl doesn't have millions of subs.. He definitely deserved more recognition for sharing to us professional videos of his travels!
Thanks very much Darren :)
I live in South Africa, Johannesburg. My grandparents live in Cape Town. Your video is making me nostalgic, yet I live here lol.
Wow Namibia looks amazing! Definitely have to go there one day😁✈
Our country is amazing. Please do come ☺️
Ok dude
YOu are welcome to visit Namibia.
beautifull deserts
I'm South African and am definitely looking forward to visiting our neighbors from 🇳🇦. We share a lot and have lozi people who also share language with 🇿🇦 Sotho, Sepedi, etc.
Karl i really believe you have one of the best travel documenturies/vlogs of UA-cam.
Keep up the good work ! Never stop travelling (and filming it ofcourse) ;)
We're moving to South Africa in 9 months!!! I'm so excited to explore the entire continent and go to all the places of my ancestors!!!
Sheri Brooks welcome, whereabout are you moving?
Did you ever move there?
Oooh how did it go if I could ask.?
If you moving there to get away from racists in America then South Africa is the wrong country for you bud.
Awesome👍
My country Namibia😍😍

aaah i remember those days when you could travel........
I absolutely loved this. I'm from Namibia, so it's really great seeing my country being represented like this. And even I sometimes forget how beautiful and special it can be. I'm looking forward to episode 2.
Roxane Bayer am from Namibia too
WHITE PEOPLE IN NAMIBIA WILL PACK SOON ...WATCH OUT
@@decoloniz_afro A white man did this fantastic documentary, not you (FYI I am not white). Why don't appreciate and say thank you to this man for showing Africa's wonder's to the world!!!!
Great video mate (as usual) we love how you document the tour bus properly and show what it's really like to go on an organised tour like that. The guides seemed great, the food seemed decent, and camping outside most nights seemed to be the coolest part. Can't wait for the adventures and action packed scenes in ep2!
yeah this is amazing!!! i actually suggested Botswana to the guys for series 3. love this and also can't wait for the next episode. keep it up xx lina
Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries now I see😁 thank you!😊
Two of the best traveling channels on youtube awnsering each other. Big up to you both !
cheeky ;)
id love to have a sit down with with mate, fascinating
Africa is such an interesting country
Country😂😂😂
Idiot 😁
Africa is a continent with 54 countries bro and is very beautiful compared what they show on media from cape town born never left there
It makes me sad that travellers only go to Cape Town when visiting South Africa - we have many many other beautiful places aside from CPT.
That's true, but I also feel like they go there because it is South Africa's tourist attraction. I feel like maybe they go to Cape Town cause it's the most well known place in South Africa among many foreigners, but I still wish they could travel a lot more around South Africa too. But I'm really happy that he didn't only just show the Safari side of Africa or just the poverty like many other people do.
As a Capetonian I think that Cape Town is mediocre compared to the rest of South Africa...
Yeah, where's the love for my city, Durban?
@@shelldonalexander989 I live that side and also get annoyed when they don't come this side💔😂
As a South African, loved this video you been to places i havent. Title a bit misleading haha. You should have visited Kruger, Drakensberg, Karoo to have said 'back packing thru S Africa'. Definitely more to SA than Cape Town and i love CT lol. Loved this all the same now i will go look for some other of your travels 🍻
Brilliant travel film! We watched both parts while being travelling abroad and it was more entertaining than watching movies or Netflix. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work!
I love when people come here & see how magical it is for themselves. We have many problems but if you look at our history & where we are today its nothing short of inspirational. I think you did a good job of capturing the spirit of africa & her people
Thanks :)
i was in south africa for 3 months, cape town in january 2019, those musicians at hout bay were still there! Best trip ever!
I am now crying watching your footage. This is so beautiful, there must be no words when you have all this brilliant wild life in front of you !
Namibia is really beautiful to go there, cool
Oh man! Glad to see Antoni still doing his thing. He was our rad driver in East Africa w/ G (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda). PS. Great filming style and content man- totally brings me back. Asante sana!
Thanks 😊
Best vlog about Africa that I could find on UA-cam! Thanks!!
all of the other vlogs only showcase the poverty corruption in the worst countries in Africa. Its good to see a vlog thats purely on site seeing and having fun in the more stable countries
your videos are always wonderful, I never miss one. I definitely wanna go to South Africa now. Greetings from Italy!
Beautiful vid, I'm from Namibia and all get to see what the country has to offer. getting excited to tour my country.
Great to see you back mate, and your work is better than ever, thank you!
Great as always Karl, just yesterday I booked a 73 day safari from Nairobi to Cape Town so this came along just at the right time!
Wow !! A real African adventure !
I did a similar tour but from Vic falls down to Cape Town. I liked doing it this way because you start off in the culture shock of Zimbabwe then can relax in Cape Town after a safari.
Are there anything like this Europe? Just asking...
I like this man! He shows the real AFRICA!
Enjoyed watchin this.. thank you for visiting my country Namibia
One of the best docs on SA and Namibia thus far!
Ive seen a lot of mountains in my life but there is just something so intriguing about Table Mountain, its almost hypnotic.
I relived my trip to Namibia watching this vid! Thank you for that, nice vid :)
great music for a South African tour, gives it that home feel
Absolutely breathtaking video. Thanks for showing how beautiful Africa is! Your editing is so good, felt like I was there too.
beautiful beautiful beautiful--endless adventure.. fun and laughter!!!
..i believe i'd already watched this..but still it amazes me--..everything is jz awesome..even the driver..co driver--who also were the brilliant chefs and all the good guides--african people are awesome--as well as the dara (am i right) tribe--can't wait to see the part2!
..GODBLESS gorgeous karl and thanksooomuch!!!
I’ve never been to Africa and am planning to go next year. This video made me so excited!

Great in European media they say only about wars And no water in Africa but is beautiful place
thats the case for most of the upper countries in Africa , but a one , we are recovering.Countries like South Africa and Namibia are leading by example
I watch ALOT of travel documentaries/vlogs but that was seriously the best hour i've spent on youtube since you released your Everest base camp trek vid' 4 months ago.
Thankyou for letting us see other parts of the world through your eyes, your hard work is greatly appreciated. Cannot wait for Ep2!
Wow man this is so professional in the filming, editing, narration and flow. I don't see how you dont have a legit tv show. Great camera work, keep it up

GREAT TIME IN BIUTIFUL MOTHERLAND OF AFRICA...........GREAT CONTINENT N ITS PEOPLE..........
Your documentary is top notch brother, keep it up, love from India🇮🇳.

This was way better than what I expected, Cape Town looks incredible was always on my list but then the Lando trip looked sooo cool. The dead trees place was just jaw droppingly stunning.
Photographers dream some of those locations
MASIVU AND ANTHONY! Oh shit :))) I was on a trip with those from Kenya to cape town. Man, you lucked out getting to have those guys around. Glad to get to see them again
Thank you for showing off my beautiful birth land (Namibia) and homeland (Cape Town).
Cape Town has so much to do and explore from.
Namibia is just so unique and best explored road trip style, no rush and take it as it comes. African sunsets are just incredible
I did this exact trip with STA travel 4 years ago. Still the best experience of my life ❤️🌍
I am really glad that you produced this documentary. I am Namibian and I lived in the UK for year. For some, the perception that they have about Namibia and South Africa is not entirely correct. However, this video does show a different side for both countries.
Well I'm gonna have to go to Africa now
book with our travel tour pliz
This was really beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😊
The Kenyan tours guides made me happy. Kenya 🇰🇪 to the world. uuuuhhhhuuuuuu!!

Dude thanks for opening my eyes about the sharks, this breaks my heart and I hope I can find a way to help😭
Just want to say me and my girlfriend have really enjoyed all the videos you have done , we have watched all of them . 5 stars bro , excellent work . All the best with the channel . Very professional
Omg I think you went with all the same tour companies I did probably because we stayed in the same hostel too Cape Town is the best and the garden route of course I loved it and love the video too reminded me of the good times I had there x x x
Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries I would I'd recommend it so much, so many amazing places along there I only spent two weeks doing it but could have easily spent a month just doing that santos express in mossel bay was the best place to stay whilst there staying in a train listening to the ocean was the best as well as free breakfast lol x x x
Cape Town is the great city. So amazing!!
I did this amazing trip in february. Even if i wasn't there at the same time as this video was made, it brings back a lot of memories. I love seeing Masivu and Anthony again, they are the best tour guides ever. And ofcourse the Lando, gotta love the Lando! Thanks for this great video, keep up the good work!
Excellent video Karl! They honestly keep getting better and better. You have such an honest take on what's going on and your cheeky humor makes the whole experience pop. Thank you for making the much needed Africa video. It's surprisingly hard to find any backpacker videos in Africa that are long form. I can hardly wait for ep.2. Cheers!
Great to see you back Karl. I've missed you. I binge watched your whole travel series a few weeks ago after the Budgeteers finished in South America. This was wonderful as usual. Can't wait for part 2. Stay well xx
Amazing! Your travel happiness made the day a lot more positive, thank you!
Hi Karl, I haven't enjoyed myself watching travel vlogs as much as I have yours! Your adventures are right up my street! It was very nice of you to share your travel experiences with us! Thank you.
Also, can I point out that those trees in the Namib desert are called Skeleton Trees....They are dead remnants of what used to be a lush forest. The white part is called Deadvlei which means Dead Marsh, and is a salt pan.
Anyway, thanks again, and greetings from Kenya...Hope you make it to East Africa soon! Great job and keep safe on your next adventures!
Thanks very much Nimu 😊
Amazing bro! I did the same route last year. Africa is beyond amazing.
Karl Watson, you are truly amazing and a legend. Seeing these places again brings back many memories for when I was there. Thank you for this. Hope to do some traveling with you in the future!
thank you Karl and all that made this happened. This has to be one of the best videos on experiencing Africa. Keep on traveling, Wanderlust forever!

You my friend deserve more than a million subs. You have my respect. I love your craft
This is really really really beautifully made. Thank you for this wonderful video of also Namibia and it's beautiful country side and awesome people. I am Namibian and live in a town near Etosha. This makes my haert burst with pride. You are do talented. This video showed so much more then the other videos I have seen. Wish you have also met the Owambo, Herero and Bushman tribes. Just love all Namibia's cultures and nature sites. We also havevthe biggest underground lack, a big meteorite and lots of conservation sites like cheetah, vulture, lions rhino. Although the rhino places are very secret because of pouching reasons. And the best of all Namibia is a country full of positive, smiling, peaceful people that is very friendly. As you already know. You already met a few guide along the way. Thank you.
Are you Jewish? I'm wondering how the Jewish people of Namibia are doing :)
