- STIHL 2022 Press Day. Featuring the BRAND NEW MSA 300, BGA300, AP500s, PROCOM, HEXA CHAIN and more!
I was fortunate enough to be invited to the STIHL 2022 pro press event. A fantastic opportunity to hear about all the new kit from STIHL and get hands on with it too.
It really is fantastic to see how far battery technology has come.
STIHL has enhanced its battery offering with the introduction of the new AP 500 S, the most powerful AP battery in the STIHL range and the first to feature power laminate technology.
Designed for use with any professional STIHL AP System tool, the 36V AP 500 S features innovative flat power laminate cells instead of traditional round cells, helping to double the service life of the battery up to 2,400 charge cycles and ensuring a long working life of up to 10 years.
What’s more, the AP 500 S boasts a 20% higher capacity and increased operating time with all STIHL AP Systems tools for only an extra 200g of weight, ensuring professionals can use STIHL tools for longer whilst keeping the overall system weight to a minimum.
The AP 500 S is the only battery compatible with the new MSA 300, STIHL’s most powerful cordless chainsaw for professional users. In addition, the new battery can also be simply integrated with STIHL Connected, the smart fleet management tool, to easily monitor total discharge time and location of the battery.
Like all STIHL batteries in the AP System, the new AP 500 S can be used in all weather conditions and has a charge level indicator via the four green LEDs.
STIHL’S MOST POWERFUL CORDLESS CHAINSAW
The new STIHL MSA 300 is the most powerful cordless chainsaw in the AP System. Suitable for felling, cross-cutting, snedding and processing, the MSA 300 offers forestry professionals, arborists and landscapers plenty of power for taking on larger cutting tasks.
Powered by the new AP 500 S battery, the MSA 300 is recommended with a 16” Light 04 guide bar and .325” RS Pro chain for fast cutting. The recommended cutting attachments are identical to the popular MS 261 C-M, with a maximum recommended guide bar length of 18”.
The MSA 300 is compact, well balanced and features STIHL’s anti-vibration system for comfortable working over long durations. Other features include a captive nut on the sprocket cover, an adjustable oil pump, durable die-cast magnesium components and an air filter to aid effective air cooling.
Also featured in this model is an LED digital display for active user notifications, showing the operating mode in use, the status of the chain brake position, the on/off status and even temperature warnings to prevent overheating.
Three operating modes limit the maximum chain speed, helping to match the performance to the task at hand and extend the battery run-time. Eco mode limits the chain speed to 24 m/s and is ideal for cutting smaller logs, while the highest performing mode features a 30 m/s chain speed ideal for felling cuts and fast working.
The MSA 300 is compatible with the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A, plugging directly into the control module to collect valuable data such as run-time and operating speed history. This data syncs to the user's smartphone and informs the user exactly when maintenance tasks should be completed, improving efficiency and helping to reduce machine downtime.
STIHL’S FIRST BACKPACK CORDLESS PROFESSIONAL BLOWER
The new BGA 300 is STIHL’s first cordless backpack blower for professional users, offering high performance and a significantly less disruptive sound thanks to its innovative STIHL Noise Reduction System.
With a blowing force of 26 newton, STIHL’s new BGA 300 cordless backpack blower is the most powerful in the STIHL cordless range and features a high air speed to ensure even wet, heavy autumn leaves can be cleared quickly and efficiently. The new cordless blower is powered using STIHL’s professional AR 2000 L or AR 3000 L backpack batteries.
Thanks to the STIHL Noise Reduction System, the BGA 300 produces fewer high pitch frequencies often associated with cordless blowers, meaning operation is much more pleasant and less intrusive for bystanders. Thanks to this, the BGA 300 is well suited for use in noise-sensitive areas such as schools, parks or around public amenities.
The maximum blowing force can be selected from three power setting options via the selector switch, allowing for efficient energy management and longer runtimes. Boost mode may also be selected to provide maximum power for the toughest clearing jobs. Furthermore, the new cordless blower features an LED power display and cruise control function to enable simple energy management and comfort.
For the optimum blowing angle the BGA 300 boasts a curved nozzle as standard, and the blower tube length can easily be adjusted to meet different requirements and operating situations. A straight nozzle is also available as an accessory.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
I wish Stihl would bring out a power bank that all our AP batteries could power.
I’ve got 2x AP200,4x AP300 & 1x AP500 batteries but have to buy separate power banks and generators.
With all the new battery generators and power banks in fashion it makes sense to be able to utilise our AP batteries .
Husqvarna better step up their game, especially with battery management. I like how stihl is giving users actual solutions for managing batteries.
Great to see some efficient charging solutions 😀
What solutions? 10 to 15 minutes cutting with AP500 on my MSA 300 and I am out of a over 400 Euros battery. The machines are great the batteries are not up to the machines I have AP200, AP300, AP300S and AP500. And machines I have, MSA 300, 220C, 161T and 135 Trimmer.
Seems like a fantastic day mate ! Great footage ! That battery saw seems to have some serious power !👏🏼
was great fun. As you know - These press events are a great opportunity to get to know the teams working behind the scenes. Really get to appreciate all the hard work that goes into bringing machines to market. 😀
@@TheFullyChargedGardener yeah totally agree pal! Almost easy to forget home much of a team it takes to make a brand work well 🙌🏽 look forward to seeing the machines on your channel mate 😄
Great video mate. Looks like you had a good time. I’m looking forward to seeing the new products next week at the road show.
😀 Was great fun. You should definitely have a go with the new battery saw! 💪
@@TheFullyChargedGardener I may take my kit with me 😃
Looked a very interesting day, some nice new kit, i take it that is a multi battery charger.
Cool goodie bag
👍👍
😀 Some very cool kit.
Good stuff Andy. Some nice looking gear coming out mate. Enjoyed the Vlog style too 👍🏻
Cheers for watching 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener i know you will talk about the electric backpack blower, I want to know more about it I live in California and want to know when will it be available here
Excellent. Look forward to full reviews of the new kit. So much excitement over key ring and USB stick 😂🗝️
🤣 Gotta love a goodie bag
The 300 and the 220T are sick
Cracking video. I'm off to the stihl fully charged road show demo day next week, hopefully have a chunk of this kit on display. They Clearly pinched yer name for it haha! 😅
Awesome!!!!!! 💥😁💪💪💪💪🌳🌳🌳
I have the Stihl MSA 300, 161T, 220C and the TRIMMER 135. The machines are great unfortunately the batteries do not match up with machines in particular with MSA 300 and with 135 Trimmer, 10 to 15 minutes in full power with AP500 on a log using about 80% of the blade and I am out of power and on top of that the battery got hot and takes about 20 minutes for the 500 charger to cool off the battery so it can charge back again. Hope Stihl come with some kind of discount so we can buy more batteries or with a better battery.
Sending my full support gdblesss 🙏🙏🙏
Seems like you had a great day with some tidy kit….can’t believe they gave you honey😂 well jealous. Looking forward to getting my hands on some of this gear.
😀 Was good fun! The honey was an absolute score! Honey on toast for breakfast the next couple weeks 🎉
Very Nice video Looking forward to seeing more of that Thanks again
Will have more videos on the kit soon 😀 Thanks again for watching. Much appreciated 👍
Hi, quick question, would you size the stihl jacket up or down or does it fit true to size? What height are you and what size did you go for? Thanks, don't want to be sending it back! Looking forward to the chainsaw review ....
I find the jackets fit true to size. I’m a 5’9” short arse, so I wear a small. Might be worth visiting your local STIHL dealer to try on a STIHL jacket in store, just to be sure. Hope this is helpful. 👍
Great, thanks! None in store unfortunately..
Great insight 👍🏻
Cheers chap 👍
Great video 👍
Thank you for watching 👍
Ooooh! BGA300!
Dying to see how it compares to the Br800!
Just to manage your expectations. It does not have the same power as the BR800.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener I've just found the details. I see their force specs are the same as the 200 but I'm guessing the velocity and volume is the change plus a little bit of the 'All will be revealed in the next episode!'
Cheers man.
Feedback: Your videos are great on my phone but some how appear very contrasty on both my android TVs.
The chainsaw looked awesome 💪
An impressive amount of torque! 💪
Haha Graaaack up bro, great vid
Thank you for watching 👍
Well stihl do seem to be upping it year after year, that chainsaw review when it happens will be nice to see.
Some cool new kit. Hopefully I will be able to get the Saw review out soon. Thank you for watching
@@TheFullyChargedGardener Stihl has been lagging on the battery tool front for a few years now. I thought they had given up.
Good to see they have stepped up. I'm interested in the climbing saw as I have a Makita 36v which is fine for most tasks but is lacking in power and the battery doest last long once you start doing some serious cutting.
I struggle to understand the point of the Stihl connected thingy
It is great for tracking the true runtime of a machine. This can be great for ensuring that maintenance tasks are done at the correct time, also great for fleet management if you have lots of machines.
The connectors can be placed on just about any machine, not just STIHL.
When are the open days on
I think Stihls battery tour has finished for this year. Your local STIHL dealer will have plenty of kit on display to have a look at.
Great video!
😀 Thank you 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener 👍👍
Husqvarna all the way for me stihl has a long way to go to catch up to them 30 years experience in the landscape business.
Each to their own. The world would be a dull place if we all chose the same. Thank you for watching 👍
Hi the new ap 500 s battery compatible with the ap 300 s equipment.
Hi, yes it is 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener hi, thanx so much I wanted to purchase the kma 135 r combi and didn’t want to spend the money if they were going to make a new product just for the ap500s s batteries no video on that ,that I saw maybe good video?
@@pedrosantos6472 Great idea for a video - Thank you 👍
Enjoy the reviews. However after investing nearly 2000euro in chargers batteries and engines I don't honestly believe battery equipment can touch the reliability of petrol when in the field going from job to job...yet. Interested to see how the new charging systems help with that. But 3 brand new ap300s batteries last about 45mins of hard strimming and then I'm stuck for the day....unless I do a fuel mix...love the lack of vibration and noise but I don't personally think these systems are a viable business alternative for self employed gardeners at the moment. I wish they were and hope they will be. Love the content though.
Have to see what the AP500S run time is when it goes on sale.
Looking at the stats, blowers and stimmers using cord, slaughter the run time on the 300s. I appreciate guys like you who buy this gear as you are financing the further development of battery power. Hope your business prospers.
When it comes to covering large areas with Strimmers and blowers a backpack battery is a must. Unless you have access to a power point, where you could charge and cycle batteries through the day.
It is amazing how quickly the technology is moving forward 😀
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
Yes it's still a stretch financially to get this stuff.
I have an EGO commercial trimmer and a backpack battery holder. I've just got a 10ah battery and it makes a big difference in run time.
I can go non-stop for over 1 hour on full power. The reality of using it (stop-start, slow-fast etc.) gives way more than an hour of use and more than enough time to do most jobs.
I haven't actually emptied the battery yet before I needed to stop.
You can make your own "fuel" on site. Have run 100 % on solar power since May, on my car. 1-2 person working with battery lawn movers etc
All.good having this fancy machinery but when you can get a hs82t with 30 inch blade that actually does job is rubbish! Who wants a back pack on at top of a ladder or hedge when swapping between long reach and short one!
Thank you for watching 👍
Tool porn😍
Looking forward to seeing your reviews on the new kit👍🏼
😀 Thank you for watching, much appreciated 👍
60 degrees cutting edge for the chain? hmmm not sure about that one.
? 25 degree angle when sharpening.
Guess what if you're pushing the battery saws there's no need for the expensive head sets 🤷🏻♂️
Bit of a con from Stihl that those who have already brought the batteries and chargers now need to go and buy new batteries and chargers after only a few years.
What about when working at height with a ground crew?? Saves shouting, safe communication.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener them headsets are relatively cheap not by Stihl but personally I do some very high trees and personally my preference would be a battery saw and shouting or talking to the ground crew as not only can the ground crew hear you but also other people, everyone can hear your warnings, people shouldn't be under the tree you say?
In real life you can't legislate for stupidity.
The new batteries will work in existing AP machines, and the new AR batteries use the same adapter
@@billycrotty4102 lots of large tree crews all wear headsets to communicate.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener right?
I don't.
You look like the people who drop leaflets off and charge about 2 grand to cut an apple tree down in all that Stihl clothing.
I will take that as a compliment 👍
