Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this beach life vlog for 2024! We have a timeshare that is on the beach we get it for one week out of the year and it is a pretty affordable vacation for us! We look forward to it all year and love spending the week at the beach house! I love to share with you life at the beach, which usually includes lots of sunsets, the food I make, and the outfits I wear! You know, the important stuff! Your outfits are great, and you look great in them. Bleach your white top and then hang it in the hot sun, and the stains should be totally gone. The kids walking in the fluffy sand in the morning is so cute.Thank you very much for all the food, and sunsets with us.

As a kid my parents rented a cottage on a lake (Michigan here) with 2 other families for many years and it is some of the best memories! It's a lot of work, but your kids will remember this forever!
We live in the Midwest. We have been to the beaches a few times. I prefer to watch the water vs. getting in. 😊 I enjoy it when others share their vacations. I am so happy to see you cooking real food even on vacation. It can be so easy to run out and pick up take out which adds to the cost of the trip. Making sure your spatula came home and putting it in the sink was good!

Strawberry pretzel salad is an old time family favorite! I swore up and down after my grandpa died (it was his favorite) that I would not be making it again, but I found myself craving it, and my family missing it! I secretly enjoy eating it for breakfast too 😀But here are my tips to make it easier (because it's a pain in the butt!)
Tips for the Crust: The pretzels can be crushed ahead of time, and kept in a Ziploc or tupperware. I use a food processor to make the entire crust (one less dish to clean). I always use more butter then what any recipe says, it's important that the crust is solidified so that it doesn't crumble in the process of adding the layers!
For the cream cheese layer, its important that the cream cheese is room temp, and the cool whip is thawed! The crust does need to be slightly cooled, or completely cooled prior to adding this layer. The crust is pretty forgiving though, and I have left it out for hours before finishing the rest of the dish.
For the strawberries, I always lay the fresh strawberries down on the cream cheese layer first. This ensures that there is an even distribution of the strawberries to Jell-O. For the Jell-O, I follow the quick set instructions on the box. This eliminates some of the sitting around and waiting time. Hope this helps if you decide to make it again!

For your pretzel salad-you also have to make sure that your 2nd cream cheese layer covers the pretzels COMPLETELY!! You can’t have any holes down to the pretzel layer. Otherwise, the jello runs down into the pretzel layer and makes the pretzels mushy. Letting the layers cool some helps too.❤
Making sure the Jello is set before putting it on top of the other layers will be a game-changer for you. I recently made it when the Jello was still watery and the consistency was totally off. Definitely try it again. It's one of my family's favorites

I live in the Coastal Plains on the Texas side of the Gulf Coast. It is not as tropical as the Florida side. But the birds, the waves, and the sunsets are beautiful. Oh, and the dolphins are so playful. I love the beach!

Definitly have to chill each layer of the jello salad. Its our favorite. I also learned I must ladle the jello in very slowly and carefully or else you upset the cream cheese layer.

That strawberry salad is delish. Make the recipe with the frozen in syrup strawberries and you will like it much better.
