I found that a dark sleep mask helps me when I'm in a strange place like a hotel. It tells my body time to sleep. -- I drink 8 ounces filtered water when I first wake up, then another 8 ounces within 30 minutes. -- I already do stretching as taught by personal as well as online physical therapists, which greatly reduces my fibromyalgia discomfort. -- I definitely believe in the gratitude thing. As a follower of Christ, I believe it is taught for a reason. I pray as well, and meditate on Scripture. All good! -- I switched from sunscreen and block to sun shirts (long sleeves) and wide-brimmed hats. -- Very good video, for sure.

Thank you for sharing your stretch routine. I was a good "stretcher" until I suffered injuries in a serious MVA (at 65 mph). It took a few visits with a good massage therapist associated with a good chiropractor who I also saw for adjustments immediately after the massage treatments that released all the tight locked up muscles that 2 years of PT had not touched before I suddenly regained my "limber" again & could function easily in my body as I had before. It was a medical miracle without a pill or medication involved!

Great routines, as a psychiatrist I'd add for people with mental health issues to eat Vit B rich food esp.B12, 1,6 and have 10 Min midday light at least for Vit D. Low levels of these are too often causes or accelorators of mental health issues. ❤

I take turmeric and ginger capsules, vitamin D3, and magnesium bisglycinate. I make sure there are no fillers or magnesium stearate! I do lots of research before buying supplements.

I'm sure you probably know this already, but the facilities they're made in makes a difference and should be GMP certified and never buy anything that's not 3rd party tested with the certificate of analysis. It all has to be labeled on the bottle.

Very good advice!! I had rotator cuff surgery years ago and never fully regained full range of motion, so I stopped stretching because it was painful, but I'll get back into it and try to remember the pain is all in my head. I do take magnesium, and I'm so fussy on the brand and certain requirements. It's aggravating how scammed you can get with supplements. I absolutely did not ever think about testing my water before buying a filter. Now I could kick myself 😂. By far, the most important thing to me is hugging my dog and cat's 20x a day!!!

I damaged my shoulder, I started taking ibuprofen. Had a bleed from stomach irritation, very anaemia. Stopped mess, started swimming. Took me a year, twice a week. Shoulder better than before damage, now have more range from the front crawl, which I could not do to begin with, only breast stroke. The year was worth it, I’m still swimming to prevent movement restrictions.

I hug my rescue dogs all the time: I adopted my first just before I was diagnosed as having had encephalitis 18 months earlier, and Maxi, my previously horribly abused border collie, and I found a way forward together. It's good to know that the good he did me wasn’t just in my imagination.

    • @kitten6363
      @kitten6363 3 дні тому

unfortunately, it IS just your imagination. Human beings can increase their oxytocin levels in many different ways. Hugging another HUMAN is the most obvious way. Oxytocins main function is to help us bond with our own young. It is involved in childbirth and breastfeeding. You can even increase your oxytocin by hugging a stuffed animal or listening to music you love, or even by talking with a friend. There are many different ways, but its main function is to help us feel close and bonded to other human beings, particularly our children, and to feel part of a social group OF OTHER HUMANS. There is actually no reason to think we should exchange oxytocin with another species that doesn't want to be owned by a human, and that has a tendency to bite humans on a regular basis for no reason. Dog experts will even tell you that dogs dont want to be hugged by humans, and that you shouldnt do it.

I'm 54 years old and my neurologist recommended adding vitamin B2 400 mg and magnesium glycinate 400mg daily for migraine prevention. It has reduced my migraines. I also find wearing compression sleeves on my calfs improve circulation and help reduce leg fatigue.

6:28 Not arguing or being divisive on the subject of meds for mental health. The ones I'm on help. I've done therapy for more than a decade. That has helped with the meds. As for gratitude, I do that many times. I've even got to a point when things are tough, I do it.
I exercise with sword fencing. I have hobbies. I have a wonderful wife and kids. I love my job working with horses.
I'm thankful for the meds I have to aid me in doing these things. I've gone without them on a person's urging in the past and it didn't go well.
It's the worst fog and walking through heavy sludge experience. My depression doesn't come from self hate. 🤷
Thank you for doing this video. Good points and ideas. Especially the stretching. I can do them before work. 🙂

One of the major causes of my sleep disregulation is my lovely, sweet, adorable cat crawling across my throat at night. Remy, I love you, there’s literally an entire pillow above my head that you can walk across that won’t make me feel like I’m getting choked every night…

    • @JustMe-px9qy

I had that problem too. I solved that by putting her in her own room at night and shutting the door.
She has her own bed, a soft chair, a big window, food, water, litter box and toys available all night.
It seems kind of cruel to put her out of my room at night… but I need my sleep.
She has free run of the house all day but at night…she goes to her room.

In all fairness I have clinical anxiety and ptsd which I manage (and the medication is a HUGE part of it) but also I want to get back to running again because I used to stay very active and that helped a lot. I journal every day too and take magnesium RHYTHM triple calm was recommended to me so that’s what I tried and I really did notice a difference. And 100% sleep is absolutely a must 🙏💖

Love these tips my friend, particularly the specific site to find OUR tap waters purity and best filter to clean what is contaminating our municipalities.
I would go further, speaking as a popular Bay Area contractor, to test your homes water DIRECTLY from where it is used like the shower and kitchen. Many homes have old pipes, plastic(Pex…i dont prefer Pex as it adds to plastic waste and the potential for toxins PFAS etc), some have ‘remnants’ where an old piece of pipe is left in the wall due to difficult/cost/negligence and these all ADD contaminants after city water is supplied to the home.
PLUS the clean water will improve your skin and hair health!
Love ya Doc, you’re the best

    • @jtknight4647
      @jtknight4647 4 дні тому

One more tip for folks, especially home owners who have a repipe or new pipes installed; when we solder copper we use flux. It is lead-free now but its not free of EVERYTHING so…new pipes always have a substantial amount of flux and solder chemicals even chemicals added to the coppers surface for anti-corrosion that should really Really be flushed out. Better yet is to hire a great plumber(NOTE! Just because some contractor is highly visible and dominates the advertising market and has bright Green vehicles and has been in business a long time does NOT mean they are good or saving you money…;-)
Confident plumbers with a good, prudent, honest work ethic USE LESS FLUX AND SOLDER! Inexperienced, shady or drunk-ass re-pipers will flood the solder joints, adding up to 1000% more soldering crap in those new pipes.
If your water tastes or smells ‘weird’ you should flush it and test it.
You might be surprised how much exposure we get and not know it or correlate to our indoor environment

I have had tingling in my legs that started to go to my arms. Kind of like restless leg syndrome all over, but it feels like carbonation in my legs and arms. After seeing a youtube video and talking with ChatGPT, I decided to try Benfotiamine (more absorbable vitamin B1 or Thiamine). It was life changing for me! Now I have to take it 4 times a day or that tingling/carbonation/RLS feeling comes right back!

Okay, I'll just add my own opinion of extra details for personal healthcare, here:
Not sleeping for at least 2 hours after you eat to prevent heart attack.
Not eating too many processed carbohydrates or sugars in order to keep blood sugar low enough to prevent blood clots while fighting modern viruses.
Asking Doctors the world over to create more natural options for the body, eg. I have to wear a mouthguard with BPA to prevent further shattering of teeth at night whilst sleeping. It started when I lost stability of one after salmon fishbone got stuck in my gum near the root of the premolar tooth behind my canine, and that set off a Mexican wave of shattering, therefore always have floss and fluoride-free mouthwash at home, toothpicks aren't good for weak gums too. People with poor gum health are 8 times more likely to die of covid-19!!
If you drink alcohol, don't do it more than once per week as that helps prevention of cirrhosis which is key for immune system needs in fighting disease. Also, be aware that fluoride and alcohol displaces calcium. Try to choose organic and vegan, as sub par effects can be a problem as can sudden cessation of what you're used to! If you're low in iron, try organic nettle tea made with plastic-free teabags. Don't eat using fortified nutrition, especially b complex, as it undermines the natural form of nutrition. Don't rely on synthetic drugs or artificial help, if possible, to prevent unwanted hacks to your biology.
Don't sleep under bright light, especially white halogen light, as it can cause wrinkles. Sunbathe for 15 mins before taking a good break as long as the sun is 45° above the horizon- Try to not look for the sun with your bare eyes at the same time!!
If you're using cannabis for health make sure you vape it with convection currents at a non- carcinogenic level of temperature, probably under 194°c is best. Never smoke and expect healing as blood heals you but only with a few days free of unwanted carbon levels, for oxyhemoglobin access.
Avoid getting upset over stressful people, if you can, and call a mental health helpline if you're suffering alone. Positive self- talk is good if you're struggling with your own sense of reality, ie. Keeping checks on healthy and unhealthy forms of guilt and shame. Remember that your Doctor can be your friend, even if it feels like they're only pushing drugs and asking you to leave after 10mins no matter your needs. The system has been a mess.
Don't fear government officials if you need cannabis access but know that they probably won't help you either, unless "the people " demand change, which of course they usually don't, as we are all stressed.
Learning about narcissism can be good for helping you to cope with any potential devious behaviour from others that has abused you so as to avoid more of the same. Don't expect abusive people to change, but know that you are the key to your own internal well-being.
And, if you're ever feeling suicidal, remember to wait it out and reach out to someone if you want to chance their understanding as helping you. It's natural to not feel contented, especially these days, and it does take a lot of acceptance as well as gratitude to feel like you can be you again.
Thanks for the 5 recommendations there!
I have to say, being forced to rescue cats in order to stop government appointees from killing them for being homeless has been a problem in my life. We have no animal welfare in my country (Ireland), especially for cats, and it affects human welfare. Apathy towards an animal welfare system hurts people! 😢
We should be enabled to love, nurture, control and protect. ❤
We do love animals and we do need to avoid financial coercion, particularly of the disabled. Disabled people get robbed from where I am, and especially in how we only have 2nd class rights. I acquired narcolepsy but it hasn't been diagnosed or helped because the health system is so bad.

I’m 65 and have permanent AFib. Can C15 help ?

Calcium? You don't need to supplement calcium. C-15 is expensive. I'll need some evidence in addition to the money. D3 and magnesium are good. How about Omega-3?

I agree, we will see how the evidence pans out in the coming years

Good info! Oh yeah...u r married...intelligence is so attractive. .. ok I'll focus back on your content. 😅😂 I never drink unfiltered tap water. I'm starting daily fiber supplement & probiotic. For Mental health: I'm a Christian and pray daily, praise God daily, Read Bible, & yes sometimes even silently yell at God for help. For sleep, I'm in bed 30 minutes early to wind down with Hot decaf tea or cocoa; & use an air cleaner & fan, which also serves as white noise, so neighbors won't wake me up. ***Please vlog RE: IBS, & over 60 y.o., best exercises over 60 & after full knee replacement, losing belly weight after 60 y.o., to name a few!😂

This website is horrible. All they wanna do is get you to give them money and my listing for Indianapolis Indiana wasn’t in there although there were surrounding communities but I get mine through Indianapolis Indiana water company and I cannot get a result with it. I tried several times and it won’t take it.

it doesnt mean anything anyway. Imagine being a harvard graduate and not knowing about all of the health hazards and risks of sharing your bed and home with scavenger animals.

@@Person-mh6xq I know he says this on every video to introduce himself, but this is in the headline and was used to bring credence to his suggestions, rather than acknowledge many doctors would say the same, even those from USC. That was my point.
