I think this is my favorite episode of Never Too Small. This is the composition that I'm looking for. Natural but also colourful. Minimal, but functional and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I will be saving this as an inspiration.
This would be my favorite if the architect had an appreciation of art -- like on some of those blank expansions of walls. Because he makes small drawings they are relegated to a narrow wall space in the child's room. Although art can be the design, as an artist I want to see more than blank walls everywhere.
I love that every video Never Too Small posts gets lots of "this is the best one yet" comments. They are all so amazing and unique. Really proves that good design is nuanced and so personal
Fantastic design, one of the best end-to-end designs ever on this channel. The cohesiveness of space, color, and flow is best of class. I know that if I was in Lyon and not Paris, that I would have these two talented architects on my short list for future renovations.
Great apartment! The small “hidden” pantry on the side is amazing, allowing the kitchen to be fully synced with the living room, and still very handy. It gave me a lot of ideas for my own house!
I don’t think you can do it any better. Huge amounts of storage, a super clever layout, and as tasteful as you’d expect it from a French couple 😊. This is just perfect.
Yes - and also pretty affordable I think - while looking luxurious. The oak wood paired with soft colors - like the rust red, seafoam green work really great. And it's an apartment for 3 people, with a living room that feels open. And still has so much storage - the floor can take all missallounios stuff. ❤
I absolutely love this apartment especially the exposed foundation wall. Marvellous concept. The area that this couple live in is also beautiful. The fact that an old apartment can be redesigned to bring it into the present is an excellent premise for living in this world today.
There’s something very special and calming about this place. I loved it all! I think all the clever built in storage and the one colour in the hallway is absolutely fantastic. The bright, open, simple living, dining and kitchen area is so well planned and so practical. The hidden pantry and fridge nook is very clever too. It’s pretty much perfection.
Is really clever how you keep the natural material of the apartment it provides an unique feeling and a personality to it, also the amount of storages is impressive, but my favorite part is the living room, is completely lovely how the light covers all that atmosphere.
One of the architects says towards the end of the episode that he's always looking for harmony and wellbeing, reduce ecological footprint and through that focus, turning heritage into something new. And that sums up this wonderful apartment really well. It is very clever, yet so unassuming. Colorful yet minimalist. Relaxed yet meticulously planned. Full of personality but very harmonious. I'm floored with all that they were able to accomplish. Just fantastic!!! Chapeau!!
Stunning apartment. Beautifully done. Beautiful AND functional. Love the esthetics! Placing of doors so that the light goes through is awesome. This apartment benefits a lot by the windows on both sides and the balcony with the stunning view. I'm in love with this apartment. I would move in immediately! ❤
I think this is one of my favourites, it's clean and simple but feels cozy and has lots of clever features like the doors and lots of storage space that is not even visible at first glance.
Simple clean lines...love the concrete...i have been informed that concrete is warm in winter and cool in summer when used inside homes. Whether true or not i love it ❤
This is gives me some good ideas for the flay my wife and I own in Austria. We have to renovate it. There are some strange walls but I like how warm and inviting this home is.
Brilliant all round in terms of design. I'm a blue-tone person myself so the corridor's red paint is not a natural attraction but perhaps offsets the concrete brut (which looks great). Great solutions all round! Excellent!!
Best, brilliant, bright, bold, bountiful, breezy, breakthrough, beaming, boutique, brainchild design. This architect will go far--thank you NTS for featuring such ingenious imaginative design-couple.
I love this space, minimalist but still accounts for storage and the colours are stunning and the plaster walls as a feature are beautiful. And I looove the pocket doors!!!
You said the goal of your design was to have a minimalist, harmonic apartment and I say you’ve accomplished it! This is gorgeous and very functional for your family and I love all the design choices. What I wouldn’t give for the view from your balcony! Well done!
Great way how concrete is used in interior design - so much better than most of concrete purist aestheticism. Very fine & witty way to create atmosphere by preserving the spirit and story of a building
Would love to see homes of a different type of family, such as homes with older kids or homes of older/retired couples, or even homes of roomates/friends/siblings...if there are any that would fit into the channel's principles :))
The adjoining cabistou was a super smart idea! A lot of these pretty kitchens lacks practicality in favour of design. This one doesn't need to compromise, as the cabistou hides away all the practicality, while still maintaining good accessibility, and the kitchen gets to have its minimalistic purity. The choice to have it be painted the same colour as the hallway sustains a subtle continuity for the eye. That's amazing design. I would have also wanted to integrate a freezer, though. The choice to open up the kitchen and living room was also clever, it really doesn't feel like a very compact space at all, and easily fits a large dinner table. Apart from this I overall appreciate the "just enough" philosophy of the bedroom. There's just enough room to get around the bed, and it's very pleasing to look at. The exposed walls are cool features, and them, together with the cabinets, create a calming continuity throughout the apartment. The bathroom has a clean design, but I feel that a separate toilet was unnecessary, especially since you still need to enter the bathroom door first to enter it.
Absolutely superb! Perfection! The thought process of ensuring natural light is utilised. The minimalist approach is perfect for the space. The concrete elements are key to the feel. This property is definitely in my Top 5 on the channel. Thank You again for sharing and inspiring content.
Honestly this is really well designed--it makes perfect use of the space given and while I would change a paint color or two, I think this is a testament to the architect skill. Kudos.
Looks way bigger than it is - and very familiar Berlinish - and a great view! We have the same 1950s/60s buildings which replaced destroyed older houses. The main issue with those now is the poor building quality (had to be fast and cheap); plumbing and insolation. I would have liked to learn about soundproofing this apartment. Unfortunately you can hear your neighbors cough or even their cell phone vibrate. A friend of mine soundproofed his bedroom which was facing his neighbors living room. You loose 10 cm of space which makes a difference in smaller places but it's worth it.
I prefer this kind of episodes where the house is used for living on it, not as an Airbnb, because when used for living it's more functional and made for "real life", I can apply the ideas for my own house.
Beautiful clean lines, natural surfaces and celebrating the strength of post-war reconstruction architecture. My reservation is having a kitchen along one wall in terms of functionality and engagement with the spiritual aspects of food preparation (if that makes sense?). A really great couple with a fantastic apartment in a wonderful position!
This episode is super inspiring. Love hearing the architects talk about using IKEA cabinets for all their low built-ins. Anyone know what IKEA product(s) they’re using to get such an elevated look? These look as great as ReformCPH’s cabinets.
What a gorgeous apartment. I think it's so beautiful. I'm not keen on the grey texture but it goes well. One of the best apartments with a fantastic view ❤
lovely apartment. very well thought out. just for once though, i'd love someone to break from the never too small script at the end and say they're not too keen on reusing old spaces and would rather knock them down
Hello! Love the functionality of this minimalistic design. Could someone tell me which IKEA cabinetry was used to hide the radiator and make more space? Also don't you think the wood'd absorb too much heat? Thanks!
I think this is my favorite episode of Never Too Small. This is the composition that I'm looking for. Natural but also colourful. Minimal, but functional and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I will be saving this as an inspiration.
I think is my favourite episode of NTS too!!!
Yes, I agree as a fellow architect. This is function first.
This would be my favorite if the architect had an appreciation of art -- like on some of those blank expansions of walls. Because he makes small drawings they are relegated to a narrow wall space in the child's room. Although art can be the design, as an artist I want to see more than blank walls everywhere.
Well said and I agree. The warm wood tones on the concrete create such a nice atmosphere.
Same!
I love that every video Never Too Small posts gets lots of "this is the best one yet" comments. They are all so amazing and unique. Really proves that good design is nuanced and so personal

100% agree. The design is top notch. It’s simplistic, useful, and clean, while also maintaining a warm homey feeling. Loved this apartment.
I love seeing families with kids actually living in these small places!
Great apartment! The small “hidden” pantry on the side is amazing, allowing the kitchen to be fully synced with the living room, and still very handy. It gave me a lot of ideas for my own house!
I’d like it if it didn’t have the oven in there too. I don’t want all my stored food to get too warm every time I turn on the oven.
You should never put the oven and the fridge side by side or on top of each other like in that nook. Strange decision imo
@@eily_bIt seems to be a safety hazard.
@@eily_b Agreed. It was one of the only things that I didn't like.
It's rare to see a minimalistic apartment that is not boring and repetitive. I'd still hang more paintings though
Don't worry: once the kid discovers a crayon, walls will become a very decorated space!
I think this is the first time I saw bare indoors concrete walls and actually liked it, it looks beautiful.
It is a great example of adapting a place to meet one's needs, in this case minimalism with storage space. A pleasant calm vibe throughout. Bravo!
I don’t think you can do it any better. Huge amounts of storage, a super clever layout, and as tasteful as you’d expect it from a French couple 😊. This is just perfect.
Yes - and also pretty affordable I think - while looking luxurious.

I never thought about doors being aligned with windows. Smart. I like your discrete kitchen and the projector idea!
Im in love with this place. It’s so nice to see a family living in a small space too!
What a cute baby 🥰 ❤ I love the little pantry area in the kitchen and the scenery from the balcony.
The highlight of this video is to see a child with the couple..........lovely!
“to align the doors with the windows”… so well thought!
I absolutely love this apartment especially the exposed foundation wall. Marvellous concept. The area that this couple live in is also beautiful. The fact that an old apartment can be redesigned to bring it into the present is an excellent premise for living in this world today.

Stuffing the fridge and oven in the pantry is not perfection--it's a safety hazard. The color they painted those storage cabinets/closets is ugly.
Amazing colour palette throughout the apartment. Well done!
Is really clever how you keep the natural material of the apartment it provides an unique feeling and a personality to it, also the amount of storages is impressive, but my favorite part is the living room, is completely lovely how the light covers all that atmosphere.

Love this. Love the exposed concrete, the polished concrete, the abundance of floor-to-ceiling cupboards and the LED light in the kitchen.
This one is the best. Colors, furniture, everything is just perfect. I could live in that kind of place❤❤❤ all best !
The radiator cabinets are so beautiful and I love the purposeful use of color and texture. One of my favorites.
Beautiful home Maxime & Mary! And omg Baby Alma is an adorable cutie 🥰❤
Really love this one, the low unit theme is wonderfully simple and clever.
I think this is one of my favourites, it's clean and simple but feels cozy and has lots of clever features like the doors and lots of storage space that is not even visible at first glance.
A beautiful light and airy design... I love the feature walls, concealed doors and utility area... And that view is just breathtaking! 💖
This is just perfect and I'm so happy for you! I live in roughly same sized flat, no balcony, and can only dream of such renovation 😅
The kitchen and the pantry is the best design I ever seen😍😍😍😍😍😍
Simple clean lines...love the concrete...i have been informed that concrete is warm in winter and cool in summer when used inside homes. Whether true or not i love it ❤
Beautiful! Such a light, calm space.
This is so smart….but I couldn’t live with that corridor colour….for me. Great job!
The white fixtures are stunning. Such a calm relaxing space with an incredible unexpected view. Well done.
I do fell in love with your picturesque balcony view!
Oh my gosh I love Lyon. Beautiful apartment and family
Style, design, material.... everything absolutely amazing.....I could live there.....Its just what needed ....no fuss ...no mess ...great space .😊
Love this home. It has so much hidden storage, does not feel at all cluttered and the colours are warm and harmonious.
I love the harmonious brightness with family members, spacial philosophy and simplicity in the room filled with their own air. :)
this is one of the few apartments on the channel that truly, truly has no compromises that i can think of.
It has a glaring safety hazard: the oven being in the smalI pantry.
So very inspiring, with a super cute baby too!
This is gives me some good ideas for the flay my wife and I own in Austria. We have to renovate it. There are some strange walls but I like how warm and inviting this home is.
❤❤❤q buenoooo.....de mis favoritos.....l habitacion del bebe❤❤❤❤simple....glamour......super bonito 🎉🎉🎉
Brilliant all round in terms of design. I'm a blue-tone person myself so the corridor's red paint is not a natural attraction but perhaps offsets the concrete brut (which looks great). Great solutions all round! Excellent!!
It’s such a calm, serene environment. My favorite is the foundation wall - it looks like a piece of art! Thank you for the lovely tour.
I hope to see more from Maxime and Mary - they are brilliant and the best designers.
We do to!
Design of the apartment is nice,,lyon is also a beautiful place to live ,,my son stays there,,
Great design 👌
Nice work 👌
Good colour combination 👌
Lovely! So streamlined and yet comfortable and welcoming. Love all the built-ins and all the plants.
This place is wonderful!! It is minimal without being cold. I love the colour of the hallway and the addition of the pantry is genius! Good job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's sterile.
That's a very cleverly designed house.❤
Nice “wipe” effect showing the open cabinet doors. Keep up the good work!
Best, brilliant, bright, bold, bountiful, breezy, breakthrough, beaming, boutique, brainchild design. This architect will go far--thank you NTS for featuring such ingenious imaginative design-couple.

yeah , im loving the layout design >>>
You said the goal of your design was to have a minimalist, harmonic apartment and I say you’ve accomplished it! This is gorgeous and very functional for your family and I love all the design choices. What I wouldn’t give for the view from your balcony! Well done!
I like the simple practical design, but those concrete walls are an eyesore.
beautifully done
Lovely, thank you
what a unique space. love the complex

Stunning!
Stunning ❤
A lovely layout and design with a wonderful feel to it.
Very smart details like the way the door open in the room… so clever! 🤩
Lovely apartment. Amazing views too! Well done.
Fanatistic! Beautiful and functional
I like the new layout, and the cleverly hidden doors, rooms. Not a fan of the paint choices, but do like the overall design.
I love the sleek design and the colour palette. One of my absolute favourite episode. Congratulations to Maxime and Mary.
This is an architect's dream kind of an apartment. I am astonished.. Beautiful, thoughtful, practical and soulful.
Would love to see homes of a different type of family, such as homes with older kids or homes of older/retired couples, or even homes of roomates/friends/siblings...if there are any that would fit into the channel's principles :))
What do you mean, "fit into their principles"?

Absolute favorite episode. I’m an architect myself and found so much inspiration from this small space. From the layout to the materials, flawless.
I love the living/kitchen area and the bedroom ❤
Well, that's basically the entire apartment.
Oouh très sympa. Vu de l'extérieur the building looks like many you find in France but the inside is just so well optimized. J'adore 💖
Absolutely superb! Perfection! The thought process of ensuring natural light is utilised. The minimalist approach is perfect for the space. The concrete elements are key to the feel. This property is definitely in my Top 5 on the channel. Thank You again for sharing and inspiring content.

Calming and a great balance of minimalism and thoughtful design. Lots of custom built ins which is my key takeaway here
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love this!

I really like the side pantry. When I first saw this kitchen, I was like, no way. But this makes a lot of sense for the space.
What a gorgeous apartment. I think it's so beautiful. I'm not keen on the grey texture but it goes well. One of the best apartments with a fantastic view ❤
The Purpose of the design is to be efficient in the details as well as for long term use. It was well incorporated. Congratulations, Mr.Architect.
This design is amazing . Congrats for such a beautiful house , it’s perfect in every way , minimalistic but functional. Love it !
Not perfect at all
This is one of the best NTS episodes so far! Beautiful space, beautiful family. x
lovely apartment. very well thought out. just for once though, i'd love someone to break from the never too small script at the end and say they're not too keen on reusing old spaces and would rather knock them down
Perfect! Colour, comfort, storage and very sleek.
Well done !
this place is perfect.
The idea of having every door in front of a window to let the light in is just brilliant
Yes, I learned something today.
Nice home. Small but uncluttered. I particularly like the way they've avoided fitting wall cupboards to increase the feeling of a bigger space.
6:08 omg the baby is so cute 😭😭😭 Bonjour baby angel🍼👼🏻
Absolutely stunning!
Only architects think cement is comforting :D Just imagine leaning back on it while sitting on the bed, brr!
Yeah! That is the only thing I disliked from this apart. And the emtpy walls. Wondeful view!
This is just Delightful. ❤️❤️🙂
Inspiring, relaxing and bright 😃 The way they use the space and at the same time they create a minimalist flat is very clever 💡
Hello! Love the functionality of this minimalistic design. Could someone tell me which IKEA cabinetry was used to hide the radiator and make more space? Also don't you think the wood'd absorb too much heat?
Thanks!
I assume that it is a "METOD wall cabinet frame". The sideboard is not very deep (according to the pictures on the architect's website).
It appears to me that having the radiator enclosed like that would be a safety hazard when in use.
