- Well this was my Sunday fun. I decided to fit my Akrapovic exhausts to the FJR.
Sounds awesome, saves weight, looks great and I'm sure there's a bit more grunt too :)
I did try weight and sound comparisons but I felt the results were not truly exact enough to be fact; I blame our cheap weighing scales and Decibel app.
G'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 they look really nice better than the original ones and they sound nice John
Molly the cat looks like she won a hundred meter race, but the finish line was a brick wall. what an adorable little creature ; )
haha Molly would never race and you better hope she never reads this. She's quite good at boxing, maybe that's where she got the nose from :)
Haha, got two of the critters myself, they keep trying to use my seat on my bike as a claw sharpener.
Molly is the great commander of seats, every time I get up, she's in it...pronto! lol
Nice teamwork there, you two! Even Molly & Hank got in on the act...so cute. And that is a lovely sound...wish I could get one of those!
Thanks Wheels, Molly follows me everywhere, never helps me, just hinders. Hank is just a stubborn little so-and-so :) Maybe hubby is reading this and with Christmas coming up, who knows??...."Hubby get yer wallet out! :D
They look and sound so much better buddy, you've got to be pleased with them, very nice, RSM8.
Yes they have transformed the bike, not stupid loud but a nice rumble :) tcrsm8
A fine pair ! And sound loverly ! 😘
Sounds awesome! And looks great too. Ole Molly looks like she didn't care if she was in the way Haha! Great video thanks for sharing. Ride safe and have a great day.
I'm sure she's only happy when she's in the way :)
Hello,
I came across this post after looking at Akrapovic end cans. I know it's a few years on from making, perhaps you could answer a couple of quick questions on the Akrapovic cans.
They cost a small fortune do you think they were worth the money? I know they look great and sound fantastic.
Did you end up running lean after taking the DB killers out? & if given the choice would you buy and fit them again?
I know that's three questions, but hey.
Thank you.
Chris.
Worth the money for the awesome sound if keeping the bike for a few years at least. No difference in running at all, these are designed to be compatible straight out of the box. I would buy Akrapovics again but yes they are a considered purchase, I haven't tried other makes like Arrow but I know I'll like the sound of the Akras. I'm changing the FJR for another bike this spring and planning on fitting Akras on the new one. Cheers Chris :)
I fitted a Akrapovic end can to my bike eventually. Hung about and waited and watched and waited....and result got one for my particular bike a BMW K1300S for considerably less than I thought I would pay for one, result all round.
Thanks again for the original post👍🏻.
Not everyone likes BMW'S but the K1300S is, shall we say the gentleman's choice of super bike in this gentleman's opinion!
Hope this finds you both well and fit and well.
Take care and let's look forward to getting back out!
@@digger8180 Woof! That's a biggun, hope you like the sound, take care :)
Learned a lot from watching your vid. Best to you Hepcat Harley! I am always on the lookout for your new vlogs.
You're a star mate, thanks for watching :)
They look and sound fabulous Ian! Look forward to hearing them on your next ride. Ride safe. Best wishes to you both. 👍
Thanks Paul, same to yous :)
I say look forward to hearing them, I'm hoping to! I'm currently as deaf as a post due to wax! That's the big disadvantage of wearing earplugs. This will be the 3rd time of ear suctioning. 😕
Oh dear! There's always a down side
Beautiful mate. I want these for my 2013. Cheers🍻
My FJR is up for sale at the moment but I can say (for me) they were worth every penny for the way they sounded compared to stock. I've just bought a Tracer 900GT and I have Akrapovics to that already :) Cheers, stay safe.
looks great! But now I got a euro 4 akra, not sure how am I going to remove it and put it back on without the baffle flying out!
Nice addition and they sound well
Thanks Tony, they have given the bike a new appeal :)
Very good! Nice hoodie too... Watch that Hank...
I really shouldn't be wearing my best for working but it was really cold today :) Hank is a really strange cat I can tell you.
Hepcat Harley You really shouldn't! ;-)
He does look it! ;-) My black cat is called Sherlock and is just as weird...
Very nice indeed Ian. Good little vid with assistant on the camera 👍🏻
Bleddy impossible without an able assistant mate. :)
Lovely job, mate! Your camera person was quite skilled as well :-)
You're looking good, Hep, and so are the pipes B-)
hehe Thanks AzRE you ol' sweet talker you :D
Great job and they sound awesome :)
I don't think the GoPro does a good job of picking up the sound but yes, yes they do :)
nice Job there Hepcat .. looks nice take care
Thanks Tex :) tcrsm8
Clear job
Thanks, it is easy
They look superb! Should give you a nice edge in the playground. :)
I like them muchly, thanks Ian :)
sounds and looks good mate, those table lifts are great ain't they :-D
Certainly are mate, wot with my knees anyway :)
Sounds excellent 👍🏻
Thanks Steve :)
That looked easy peasy lemon squeezy.
It really was :)
The difficult part was paying for them :)
Oh yes paying for it yes that is the hard part.
Don't forget to adjust the chain! Ahhh nice sound and bike by the way.
I need to adjust my belt too, since being on a diet challenge my pants keep falling down lol
It's a shaft drive
@@AR-iu9jv It was a joke!
@@banditnev oh.....ha ha !
Niceone dude, looks sweet and awesome sounds.
Tcrs✊
Thanks it is a Blessed sound :) tcrsm8
any idea how to remove the 2016 model akra? there is only 2 welding holding on to it. I am wondering, after I have removed the silencer, how do i put it back and keep it in placed during my annual inspection of the exhaust.
Mine has the spot welded screw holding the baffle in place, just grind off the weld but keep the screw for baffle replacement if needed. Mine passed its MOT without the baffle just fine. The baffle is a press fit so should go back in place no problem then lock it in with the screw.
Mine doesn't come with a screw...
You might find it in an access hole in the sleeve, if not you'll have to find the weld and grind it down. Can you get to the welds?
yeah, i found the access hole. I think I may need to drill a hole on the baffler to insert the screw in! Would need to do some measurement before i start the drilling of the baffler...
I can't really tell without seeing it but maybe a small self-tapping screw would do the job. Good luck :)
Geez I love that bike. Would be a good replacement for my old K bike. Just gotta convince the financial controller.
I'm sure I saw Mollies lips move. She said, " no, f#*k off. "
It's a big ol' beast, fills the garage quickly. Yes, I'm sure all the cats want me dead so they can have the bed all to themselves....wouldn't put it past them :)
Lo mejor 😈
En efecto
Nice job! I suppose the other garage belongs to Lord Hepcat.
No he has many garages. it's the one I keep my '32 Ford Roadster in :)
Sound lovely dear will hear you coming now. Lol
Sorry I made you stand behind the pipes when I was doing the decibel check lol
Very interesting and enjoyable : )
Thanks Cat, my jeans kept falling down today so I had to keep cropping the video clips to avoid showing my ass lol
Crikey😳didn't know it was one of those sorts of movies! : p
The clues were there...FJR Falling Jeans Random :)
The legend that is Hank Williams.....check out Jason and the scorchers mate...great band and fans of Hank.
Pipes are sweet as a nut mate....one of them sounds like mine....only one tho!
haha, will do, apparently I have work to do right now though :)
...oh yeah! ...a great plastic surgeon, the patient has been perfect ...
haha :)
Ooooh vroom vroom :)
and plenty of it :)
Those spot welds are a bit of a joke really. You must get through a lot of copper grease ;-)
yes they are and for good reason :) I get copper slip in bulk.
ooo looooverly :D
Yeah! :)
Lovely cats.
Thank you :)
Sweet :)
Most certainly are :)
Not a big fan of loud exhausts unless they add power otherwise pointless but like the video.
Yes not much power advantage to speak of but the sound isn't loud it's just nicely toned and gives out a wonderful tune higher up in the rev range. Thanks for your comment, take care :)
oi blz brother passando prá deixar aquele like mano mais um escrito se pôde retrebua agradeço susseso ae mano
Thanks :)
