John- I've been subscribed to your youtube page since I started shopping for an FJR or Versys about a year ago. I ended up w/an FJR and have enjoyed watching your mod videos too. Like you, I purchased a set of Delks recently but the exstall/install instructions from the company were weak. I remembered you had posted your vid of the exstall/install so I re-watched it and blammo- it all went so much more simply. Thanks for posting!
I just put a pair of these on my 2019 FJR ES and I love them. Took less than 45 mins to install after watching your video. Love the sound. These are a great value! Highly recommend 👌
Watched your video, liked what you showed, bought the same set for Christmas, 1 hour for installation on my '15ES, love the look and sound. Thanks for the inspiration.
Just swapped from gsxs-1000 to 09 fjr1300, loving it so far, been eyeballing this exhaust for it. I think this was what I needed to pull the trigger on a set. Thanks for a great video!
Hello there, good to hear from you. Congrats on the new ride. You have good taste in motorcycles sir. Thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)
Nice bike, I have the same bike and I put the R77's on mine (they sound just like yours) along with the canyon cages. Next up: Helibar risers. The stock position is putting to much strain on my wrists. Can't wait till spring!! Good posting, thanks.
I own 2019 fjr1300, same sweet color, phantom Blue. At about 400 miles I had a second gear ring break on me. Very long story short, after waiting close to 6 months to once again enjoy my FJ, Yamaha hooked me up with about $3500 dollars in OEM touring goodies, Yoshimura's sound awesome as well :)
Sir, your videos are wonderful. Thinking about buying a used FJR, and I am learning as much as I can about the bike. Was looking at the Honda ST1300 but, the FJR looks to be much easier to to do basic maintenance and wrench on in general.
well the new one has the six speed transmission with helical cut gears so no more gear whine and a higher final gear for the highway. Also the gear shifting is much smoother, the clunky gear changes are gone. The electronically adjustable suspension is nice too but I usually just adjust the suspension to suit me and leave it alone so that's really not a big deal for me. The all LED lighting is nice also. It is a more refined bike than before... I think it is worth the upgrade cost for me.... Thanks Sir.... :) @@ozarknative8170
Wonderful vid.... was wondering how these particular ones would sound on our 18's. They look very good. Particularly happy about the comment you made about them not being a loud sound on the highway rides.
They sound nice. It sounds very similar to mine. I have a 2007 FJR and it has the stock mufflers which have had the baffles removed then welded back together. I have some videos on my channel if you're interested.
Hey mate, hate to burst your bubble but they are such great value because they are manufactured in China, albeit to a seemingly high standard. The company itself, as you've said it are from the UK.
Hi, do you think it's the right length 13" for the 2018 FJR? and the 8" will be too short and damaging the saddlebags from the heat? Anyway thanks for a great video.
Do you think you will need to install the Canyon Case bag protectors that you decided against installing earlier given the smaller dimensions of the Delkevic exhaust cans?
Great video. Installed on my fjr. Did you have any have to “retune” after you installed the exhaust? I felt mind lost some power after the installation at high speeds.
Really look sharp, been jostling over putting on aftermarket exhaust. Like the sound and can easily compare to stock by looking at previous motovlogs. Can they make the cagers take note of your presence?
Do you still like the corbin seat? Saving my pennys for one . Theres a guy on the versys forum thet makes a pipe that gose from the colector to the lower pipe on the muffler eliminates the catalytic coverter aka breadbox..stainless
Hey David, yes the Corbin seat is very nice, I have no issues with it at all. I took a little bit to break in when it was new but once it softened up a bit it really is a comfortable place to be. If you de-cat your bike let me know how that works out.... thanks Sir... :)
Now that you have had them on for over two years, can you provide any further comment or update on how well they are holding up? How have you managed with the louder sound level?
Good to hear from you sir, the Delkevic Tri-Ovals have been great they look and sound just as they did the day I installed them. I guess I am used to the louder sound from them I do not notice them being any louder. They will talk to me a bit if I get to pulling hard on a hill but generally I don't notice them. Thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)
Good to hear from you sir, yes the Delkevic mufflers have removable baffles. The baffles were installed on my muffler in this video... thanks for watching... :)
I assume that the Delkevic mufflers allow the engine to rev out much easier because they are not EPA restricted and are more free-flowing? I recently test rode a 2018 , FJR and the stock mufflers did not let the engine rev out as fast I hoped it would.
Hi there.......when you connected the front of the link pipe with the gasket to the bike did you use sealant on it? You didn't show it so I assume you didn't......thanks.
Hello there sir, the link pipe has a lead gasket sleeve that slips over the factory pipe so no sealant is required on that connection... thanks for watching and good luck with your projects... :)
Hello there sir, good to hear from you. Yes the Delkevic mufflers are lighter than the stock ones but I do not have any scales to weigh parts on so I cannot say how much difference there is... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
Great videos. You’ve made the install look nice and easy. Do you have any issues a year into your Delkevic exhaust? I’m looking to install these on my 2015 FJR ES. I want a better exhaust note but nothing too loud. Thanks for your feedback
Based on the scenery and hills I'd guess you live somewhere around West Planes or South Cntrl MO area? Beautiful riding in the Mark Twain Ntnl Forestry!! Although I don't live in SE MO any longer I still try to get the VStrom or FJR down to Sam A SP/Eminence area every few years to do some camping and riding. Will have to link up some day.

That FJR is beautiful. I have a question, though: How does the heat coming off of the FJR compare to the Versys? I just traded in my '05 (First Gen) FJR on my new dealer leftover 2017 Versys a week ago today. I don't have any experience with the later model FJRs, but the heat coming off my First Gen was horrendous. I've read and heard that this is a common complaint with First Gen FJRs. Riding when the temp was over 85 degrees was borderline unbearable, and I live in Texas, so that just didn't work. That was my only bike for 5 years and I found myself wanting to ride less and less...even thinking I was getting bored with riding...and I've been riding nearly 30 of my 39 years on the planet. I'm hopeful, and nearly certain, that the Versys will be much more tolerable in the heat. I enjoy watching you work on your bikes. I wish I could send my Versys up to your garage for a few days' worth of mods ;)
Hello there, I have not noticed much heat coming off the Versys. I spent a few weeks on it out in western Colorado and Eastern Utah last summer and I did not notice any heat coming off the engine. I guess its pretty well controlled or I would have noticed. I am sure you will have a blast on your new Versys they are great machines..... ride safe..... Jon Smith :)
Living in TX and having a 04' and an 08' FJR; heat was fixed on Gen2 model with a heat shield. Which is what most did with their gen1 model, add a heat shield under the gas tank. Now I have the gen4, no heat issues whatsoever, wife had 2012 vstrom dl1000, no heat issues, naked bikes are free breathers.
I have never noticed much heat coming off the Versys engine. The FJR makes considerably more heat and can be an issue when riding stop and go in hot weather. I imagine you will like the Versys much better on that issue.... Thanks Sir..... :)
Why didn't you hide the clamp bolts underneath where they can't be seen ? Also do they make a quick shifter setup for this bike (yes they do here: ua-cam.com/video/9uSN4ScrD3w/v-deo.html), I had a 2005 FJR and may get another one soon, CalSci screen for me was used.
