I have a Vstrom and I am looking to change to an FJR, don't think I can afford a new one, so I am looking at second hand, but could I maintain it myself....having watched your video you've just convinced me, great advise. Many thanks Firgle :)

firgle109 hi bud thanks for watching
Good to hear my videos help
They are great bikes I’ve enjoyed owning this one and will be selling her this spring
You will enjoy the fjr a lot better than the Vstorm
But you may notice she’s a bit Heavier
However it sits on the road a lot better
      Enjoy bud

Your FJR appears to be fairly old. I purchased a 2015 last Fall new from a dealer getting rid of them. Great deal. In fact so good, I spent extra and got the VIP service package. My dealership will service my bike for 4 years. I absolutely love my FJR..

I’d say most FJRs are abused and a lot of owners neglect the servicing because they know they’re reliable. A bit like certain people with Toyota cars.

Get rid of the pair valve plumbing and your sorted, you could give it a full service at the side of the road withing an hour if needed, gen 1 the best at 237Kg dry, no fueling issues neither, service suspension Linkeage, Pipercross air filter and Lextek YP4 baffles in and your good to go.

MotorcycleDen to be honest most have a little play , mine with the mtc exhaust hunts a little with the same problem but does effect the running in any real measurable way
All in they are just great bikes for all weather riding all year round yet you can play if you want to
I’ve had 3 now all run the same way but never let me down with 200 miles before filling up with regular servicing
      They are great bikes

    • @marksavage

Ivan Dale hi bud thanks for watching
Ok just after the 5mins after taking off the t bar just follow the H T leads and take them out with a plug sockets
As for the air filter it’s under the left side fairing panel
You will need to take all the panels off but it’s not a big job
And saves you a lot of money
I have a few other videos on the fjr plus other bikes you might like to watch

Hi Mark great channel, may I ask a question, my headlights on the fjr seem to have got major distortion like someone has scrapped the inside of both, its kept inside some people have said its a reaction with the fuel and polycarbonate. Thanks for your time

    • @marksavage
      @marksavage  Рік тому

On the out side or on the chrome backing inside?
The outside is easy to deal with and very cheap
Use a scratch cream for paint work
Cloth and put onto the head light plastic and go round on circle's loads on and keep going then clean off and wow bud
      Inside
      Need changing

@@jimger1000 I did think it was glass !
      You can get glass polish
And glass clear, it's got like sand in it
If its on the outside of the glass give that a go
If on the inside of the glass
      Me I'd buy a 2nd née one
You can split the glass from the case
      That can got wrong
If I had to buy new
I'd take it off and play
You can't break it twice lol
If you want to upload a video on it and let me know I'll take a look
Just a bit odd really but you don't know the last owners or history of the bike
