@Adventures with Spackmann I received it like 5 days ago. After all the leaks were put on blast, Pomoly emailed me asking if I wanted a refund or to wait and that they would send me the improved version directly. Very similar warning/disclaimer that they have on their website for this tent currently. Idk if this would be a version '4' or if they sent me one of the 3 versions already released.
Between your review and OGR’s review, you both highlighted the bigger problem-the ethics of a company that would continue to sell a product months after real-life end users told them had a serious and dangerous flaw. Combined with the exposure of the leaking product, the delayed responses to buyers, and ridiculous return policy, they’ve brought this negative publicity monster on themselves. Both you and OTR said you hoped the company would do the right thing and that you both like other Pomoly products. You weren’t trashing them completely, only pointing out a major issue that needed to be addressed. After so much bad exposure, sure they have pulled the product-but that horse done left the barn. And so the juvenile war of words began instead of what should have happened months ago. I wish more companies would do the right thing FIRST and am very glad there are folks like you, OGR, and others that keep up the pressure to ensure consumer safety. THATS what’s most important-period. Thank you so much for that.
I'm one happy camper that found your channel a month and a half ago . I honestly thank you because Pomoly don't care about fixing any leaks or any problems that their tent's might have in my opinion . As of right now we have two UA-camrs who complained about their tent's and didn't they say that they fixed the problem !? Apparently they didn't so I sincerely thank you Spackmann for looking out for not only for yourself but for all the viewer's as well . Also it wouldn't be a bad idea if Pomoly hired you to test their tent's because their not doing a good job at looking for leak's or problems that their tent's have . So they should hire you . You got my vote . Thanks again and if I was to buy a Pomoly tent I'd also buy me a lifesaver lmao 🤣😂👍👍👍
@Apache Chase Roadrunner I’m glad you found the channel as well!! I don’t think they ever came out and said they fixed the problem. They said you have to have the vent closed in order to prevent water from saturating the seam and leaking. I think people misunderstood that as them fixing it but I never thought that is a fix. It would be awesome to be a paid tent tester! That would be awesome! Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann We made some design improvements to prevent water leakage. But we got different test results, which means that the water leakage problem has not been really solved. Therefore, we suspended product sales and made improvements again. We will adopt a new design of vent cover cloth and adopt waterproof zipper to better solve this problem. Our new design will be tested soon. Thank you for your video.
@@POMOLY I hope y’all get it fixed, I love the concept of this tent and would love to own one. But it needs to be water tight before I’m willing to trust it, especially camping in cold weather having water get into the tent can be very hazardous.
The tent design is everything I want...hell I'll even pay a little more for better materials if that will fix the issues. I hope they figure it out!!! Love the reviews and tests!
@Blaygames I know when they first released the tent they had plans for other materials to be available(different options), wonder if that would help. So glad you enjoy the testing. Thanks for watching
Thanks for your honest testing. Hope your comments don't get inundated by shills and zealots. And thank you for explaining that they sent you replacements for original purchase. Others just say sent and it seems sketchy.
@hoolio197900 yeah I have been saying sent me I think in everyone of my follow up videos and I’m not sure if I ever mentioned that these are replacements for my original purchased tent. You’re welcome and thanks for watching
Thanks very much for sharing this, its too bad they can't get this tent sorted out I was going to order one. I really like the separate stove vestibule design and general layout. Here's to hoping they will come up with a fix for all the leaks.

Just a few minutes ago (after watching the beginning of this) I sent an Email to Pomoly. I ordered a STOVEHUT 70 from them in early November. It was delivered late December. I'm not a lover of the cold like you so mine hasn't been out of the house yet. Basically, I told them I'm aware they are having problems with the design, told them I haven't used/tested mine and asked what I should do about it. Thanks for the heads up.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann They sent me an Email basically saying don't worry, send us pictures of your leaking tent and they will send a replacement or issue a refund. 11 minutes later I get another Email saying to ignore the previous Email and to send the tent to them, that they will pay the shipping and they gave me an address. They didn't seem to understand that I have yet to use the tent and don't know for sure if it leaks. They also did not give any indication of what they are doing about it. I don't know if they are going to issue a refund, send another tent, fix this one and send it back, or something else. I replied with an Email asking what they are doing about it.
@Bud Williams I think one problem is they have one too many people in the pool responding to people. One says one thing and the other days the opposite. They need one correspondence for everything.
I was going to purchase one but made the decision to do research. Thank God! Big waste of money. And youre correct. If i wanted closed vents in a small tent in the rain, id wear a garbage bag..not buying either version
I have to say I liked that you didn't slam Luke, can't say the same about one of the other guys, bummed about that. btw, was shocked when you actually replied to me on FB about this! lol. Love your videos!
@Doug Rowan why would I slam Luke? He didn’t do anything wrong. He setup a tent and tested it in the rain. Just like he does in every tent testing video he does. I’m so glad he bought the tent and tested it. There is power in numbers and it show. Also lol, I try to reply to everyone I can. Thanks for watching
Another great video but I can't say I'm surprised by the results. It would be awesome if more brands sent you gear to test. Hopefully by version 5 they finally get it right.
I have a V1 that's still in the box. What is the process for getting a refund? With leaks three versions in...I'm guaranteed to not have a good experience with this. Ugh. Thanks for the review and for sticking with this.
Had a Stovehut 70 on order when all this blew up. Several emails and promises later I said I would wait. They promised me a version 4 and guaranteed they would be water testing before shipping. Got it last Wednesday (3-23-22). Put it up in the backyard Saturday. We got 1/2" rain Sunday night and some pretty good winds. No leaks. Vent is smallest yet. I had vent closed. Want to test with it open!
@Jetter 74 that’s great to hear!!! When you say you had the vent closed, do you mean the outside vent cover that gets guy out or the zippered part on the inside of the tent? Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann Just ran two more tests. Man-made rain this time. 15 minutes each test. Outer vent open, inner vent just hanging down. Velcro not attached. The way I set up with a stove. No leakage. Next test was outer vent open, inner vent rolled up. Again, no leakage. Thought maybe it would splash in, but it didn't. Mountains for the next test!!
I think that you’re going to have to get a 55 gallon drum of seam sealer and pump it though your hose set up. Man it’s such a cool design for a tent too. Your test is like the Dutch Bushcraft Knives destruction test for tents. Well done!
@Miles Robertson you think 55 will be enough for all 3 tents? I know I like the design as well. I’ll like the tent if I can fix or if they can. Glad you’re enjoying the tests! Thanks for watching
Wow what a disappointment. I hope then can come up with a solution to the problem. So many people seem to like the tent's design. I know I like it. But your first testmade me pause on buying one. Again I hope the tent comes back with problems fixed. Thanks for another great video.

Lets dive in.....bahahahahahahahaha! I am glad Pomoly finally decided to pull it. Good work Chris. Good honest work. Way to get the word out there and letting people and Pomoly know what this tent is. Garbage. Because of you and Luke. It is too bad that it took 3 months for them to pull it, because of Luke.. And good on you for saying so. However, best hot tent stove ever.....that's pushing it. LOL Nice burp
@It’s Good in the Woods but it was such a good cliff hanger wasn’t it????? I forget to say excuse me lol. Thanks a lot bro. I couldn’t believe it took them 3 months to pull it either. But it is what it is right. Glad you enjoyed the video man. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the heads up Spackman. Its a shame cause I really like their stoves, I will probably still get one but now I know their tents are no good. Great content, you are funny. Best wishes for continued success !
@Jessi Ferri thank you so much! I have one of their stoves and it’s been good to me so far. Even the hammock hot tent is great. This tent and the Chalet are not lol. In my opinion. Thanks for watching
Another great test brother ! Like you said, they should have pulled it months ago. I really like the design of that tent too, its very disappointing. Maybe they will get it fixed eventually. They do make some good products at affordable prices. I do wish their customer service was better though, especially for us reviewers.
@Christopher Denison I have heard there is a couple people who have one that doesn’t leak. Maybe you will be lucky like them. Or seam seal every seam and make your own luck. Thanks for watching
This is so frustrating... Wish I had seen your videos when I ordered this in early November, because I liked the design. Had it shipped to Germany and now I guess I will have to try and fix it with seamsealer, hope it works...
@Kathe Runte I hear ya. I didn’t know about the leaking until I received my first one in the end of November. Good luck with it. I’ve heard seam sealing it works. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann So either it was a quick fix, or I’m getting an old one. I just got a ship notice for my stovehut 70. I emailed them after this video posted and they did tell me I’d get the new updated version. You’re welcome to test it if you’d like. I honestly don’t know if I’ll even use it. I just spent four days in a pomoly hex plus and I really like this tent.
@coyotesnipe whoa could be a quick fix or they have been working on it for a while lol. Let me know if the vent comes with a zipper. That was one thing they said they were adding to help with the waterproofness. Hopefully they fixed the problem. They should send me a new model as well since I purchased the first one and have issues with ever model they sent to replace it. Let me know when you get yours. Thanks for the offer!
Hope they fix it because thats an awesome tent design. I'd buy one if it was cheaper now. Just seam seal it myself. Also loved the pool safety!!!! Hahahaa
Thanks, your diligence just saved me money and (almost) more importantly, frustration. Someday I'll buy you some tacos. 🌮 🌮 🌮. When you put the floaty ring on to get in the tent I lost it. Dude, the tent stove tease at the end. Cruelty. Lol
@Tony Boloney glad I could help. Tacos you say???? Tuesday only 2 days away lol. I lost it too and when I thought about it, I pictured those arm floatys but couldn’t find them big enough for these pythons, they only come in kids sizes lol. Stove will be coming soon, hopefully. Thanks for watching
@Thaddeus Mikolajczyk in my test video for version 2 I used the mist function on the hose and was able to make ice, if it were colder and I added a blower to the mix, I bet I could get it to snow! But I’ve also been thinking of a way to test loads on tents, haven’t executed it yet. Thanks for watching!
Pomoly should throw a tube of seam sealer in with these tents and a disclaimer that it needs sealed. I dont think the seam tape is ever going to hold up over the span of those huge horizontal seams that are right in a pool zone. I think seam sealer would solve it but it is time consuming to apply. Thats why most ultralight tent cottage companies charge an additional $50+ to seal their tents but they'll throw in a tube for you to do it yourself for free.
The version 3 in your video is different from the version 3 they have on their website. The vent is no longer a rectangle but now half moon shaped. I can’t find any videos online of folks water testing that tent. Any chance you could get your hands on that one and test??
I have and it’s up. Title is “Stove Hut 2.0 did Pomoly fix it” part 2 is “Stove Hut 2.0 All the leaks Follow up” ua-cam.com/video/hgDrYy914f0/v-deo.htmlsi=yeRic75LCDpZs_PQ
Thanks, I was thinking about getting one. I would like to test one out also, but I'm not going to spend money on one until they get the problem fixed. I have over 1000 followers on my FACEBOOK site West Virginian fishing stuff I was going to start reviewing different stuff for camping and fishing trips.
Thanks for the great, thorough and honest reviews on the StoveHut 70. Was very close to buying one but very glad to have found your videos. Do you (or does anyone else) know whether version 4 (or whatever version we're now on) is now positively water-proof? Seems like they should be able to get it right at some point? If not, what would good alternatives be for people liking this hot tent size and configuration?
@Lars de Kock you’re welcome! I can not tell you if version 4 leaks or not. The company has stopped responding to my questions about the stove hut. Not sure of an alternative out there but I’m sure there is. Thanks for watching
I love ya' man!!! I really thought you were going to get a different outcome :-( ! Why the HE double hockey sticks does Pomoly rely on it's customers to test their products instead of heavily testing themselves??? In a world of UA-cam, a bad product can not do your business any good !!!! Think of how many tents were sold in those 3 months !!! Customers will be staying away from all of their tents because of this, even their great ones!!! I have their Timber Wolf 3 stove and LOVE it and I was really looking at the hammock hot tent but if I don't get it... it will be because of the way the ends fold in and limit room. There should be options available to zip in end pieces to expand the tent if you want !!!! Are you listening Pomoly!! Can't wait to see your stove video Chris!! Jeff
@Hike-Bike-Paddle & Drone thank you so much! Glad you are enjoying! An option with closing ends with zipper would be freaking awesome. I can’t wait to share the stove. I’m just not ready yet. Thanks for watching
@hkjuhu campbell the reason I originally found out about the leaking issue with this tent back in November was cause I had it out in the field. Rained for 6 hours and had huge puddles in it. So my testing began to find out where the leaking occurred lol. Thanks for watching
I really like these tents and would have no problem purchasing one. I think the company just needs to be honest about expectations. I have a very expensive "American Made" single walled hot tent and I believe it would also leak if subjected to this test right out of the box. Standard practice is to apply seam sealer. With the brand I have, you can do this yourself or pay an extra fee to have it done prior to shipping.
@jamie kinch I understand standard practice maybe to seam seal your tent. Especially if the company says it needs to be done. And I agree, a honest disclaimer on their site would make all the difference. But when a company claims a tent is waterproof, it’s should be. Especially a hot tent that is this cool looking. In a time when many people are trying hot tenting for the first time, don’t know to seam seal their tent cause the company says it waterproof, it’s dangerous. I’ve been camping my whole life. I received this tent 2 hours before leaving for a trip. No time to seam seal it. Ended up getting 6 hours of rain with temps around the freezing point. Luckily I didn’t get wet but I had huge puddles in the tent. So yeah disclaimer or make it waterproof. Lol. Thanks for watching
In 40 years I've owned several tents , of various quality and have not had to seam seal any of them . I love the design of this tent but they should not send this out as it stands now .
As for the water testing i agree they should have pulled it. However being a manager in the manufacturing process I can tell you in most cases it's cheaper to fix the product on the fly and hope that the quality is good enough that way you still keep a profit. Not speaking on pomoly but almost all manufacturing does this. To redesign would cost so much in lost labor but they should have gotten it fixed ASAP. And had all kinks out before they mass produced
@Parker Riley I agree that fixing it on the fly maybe ok on a 3 season tent but when a customer takes a product out specifically designed for cold temperatures, it can’t leak, well you shouldn’t tell them it won’t leak when it clearly does. I mean version 3 took me 5 mins of testing to tell you it wasn’t waterproof, as there even any testing on this tent done? Sorry kinda ranted there. But I agree with you. Could be cheaper to fix on the fly but it shouldn’t have gone out to mass production like this. Thanks for watching
@@POMOLY i think your company should start doing the Spackmann Water Torture test on your tents before mass producing them. It will help in the long-run and your customers will stay dry in your tents 😊
@Bud William lmao they totally should! Hmmm not a bad idea right there. Then you wouldn’t even have to leave the tent when nature calls in the middle of night. Just let it drain lol. Thanks for watching
Thinking if they didn’t cut the fabric on the vent and stitch it rather put a pole over it on the outside or something else across it. No seem no leak. It just lifts up so could do something else there
@Dotty McCarren really seems like there should be a way to do with without leaking but maybe not, other kind companies have vents on the side right? Thanks for watching
That is really disappointing. Will cancel my order on this tent. Will wait for the fixed version! They should really redesign and better testing products before selling.
Another great spackmann water test should be the standard for all tent reviews pomoly really dropped the ball on this tent can't wait to see that stove is it powered by a candle lol
@Tim Robinson lol a candle stove, did you ask me about the Outsider the other day? If so did you see my reply and I miss your reply? Thanks for watching, also can’t wait to share the stove!
@Tim Robinson this message was flagged too. I don’t get why at all. There were 4 other replies there from other people as well. Very strange but it wasn’t me lol. I love the outsiders videos. Footage, voice, projects all good. I’ve seen the candle heater he did and I want to try a couple things he has done.
Holy smokes. Serious facepalm. To heck with this tent. Thanks for the review and sorry you had to go through this. Looks like you got 3 tents and a weeks worth of seam sealing to do. I can imagine were gonna start seeing these for super cheap on Ebay. Buyer beware! haha
Maybe put two hoses on a y and hit it on both sides that be interesting to see if different results. If survives that be heck of a tent which ever brand
@Dotty McCarren when it’s higher up I hit the entire tent which is how I start the tests off. When I find a problem area like the vent side, I stick to testing that side. But I plan on testing a bigger tent(hopefully soon) so this Y idea will come into play then!!!!! Thank you, I was going to test each end separately but Y-Ing the hose will get it all. Thanks for watching
As others have said, I really like the idea of this tent...however, the execution leaves much to be desired...seems like if they REALLY wanted to fix it, they could... There has to be a way...
@Irish Hunter I would really love to but the company has stopped responding to emails and messages about this product from my original purchase. It seems like they may have fixed it but won’t fix the problem for some of us that preordered this death trap. So I kinda have a problem sending them more money for a product that may or may not give me hypothermia lmao. Thanks for watching!

Still is a nice looking tent, would be worth it to me if just seam sealing it would fix the problem. Really had high hopes for this one thinking of getting one, but if can't fix it passing on it.

@John Burgin I usually cover up with a tarp as well. But you’re right that’s not the point. Others have said “so what seam seal it” that’s all fine and dandy except when the tent shows up an hour before your trip and weather is below freezing but rains for 6 hours and you have puddles in your tent cause a 4 season HOT TENT claims to be waterproof and leaks like a drain lol. I think all tents that claim to be waterproof should be subject to the Spackmann water test, if they don`t leak after that then it`s a waterproof tent , I stated on Lukes channel the you had done a leak test and it had leaked badly , I have the chalet haven`t had it out yet , hoping it don`t leak either ,but with all the focus on the stove hut I`m not very confident that any changes where made , wish me luck lol
@John’s gone outdoors I tested the chalet as well. Leaks just the same. That video doesn’t have as many views and Pomoly didn’t respond to it at all I think. Good luck.
I kinda want to get a hold of one of the leaking tents. I want to try to melt sno-seal into the bad seams with a hair dryer. I donno if its worth it if it takes a whole jar of wax lol
The seam. The seam? (Blink, blink) Ya know, there isnt a tent I havent sealed the seams in many decades. First thing, brand new out there in the yard, going over each seam with sealer. You know what? My seams never leaked. Sealing the seams also strengthens them. Ever do a light check? You know, you go inside on a bright sunny day and examine the walls and roof for light leaks. Seal them also. In fact Ive been known to seal entire panels on stuff like blinds which were never intended to be waterproof. They certainly were after I was done though. Look at this guy. Where is it leaking??? Its leaking where he made it leak. He is so hard up to bad mouth this tent that actually goes out of his way to make it leak. Yah, I can see why it leaks there. The damn vent is open and the water goes inside the flap. Why dont you leave your doors and windows open and see if that leaks? Oh, you did. Seal it. Sure beats whining and moaning about it... and close the damn windows when it rains would you? He just convinced me to buy it.

Accordingly Pomoly confirmed to Luke that his was version 2. A very disappointing redesign for this version 3. I hope they are going to redesign it but I'm gonna guess that they'll cut their losses and just drop it completely now. On an interesting point about the testing, your way of testing is exactly how Coleman test their tents in house, except they do it inside and with a bigger hose for a more controlled environment type of test
@Chris ‘CJ’ Jones I wouldn’t be surprised if this is how every tent maker test their tents. I mean how else would you with a controlled water flow. Also no Lukes version matches my version 3 which I got confirmation from Pomoly that it is version 3. It’s also the 3rd one I got in order. You can see in my video that his matches my version 3 with the shorten vent. I saw Lukes update today and had to go back and rewatch it and it looks like 3 to me still. The vent on 2 is still huge. Thanks for watching bro!
@@AdventureswithSpackmann Yea probably, it is the most logical way to test them 🤔 Interesting cause Luke specifically said in his video today that it was confirmed to be a version 2 😂 I get it can be very confusing when you haven't got them all in front of you, since you have, I'll take your word for it
@@chriscjjones8182 I thought the same thing when I saw it. I had already filmed and edited this video when I saw his and was like damn. But I confirmed in his video that his matches my version 3.

@@POMOLY hopefully you can fix the issues, but you need to look more closely at the seams cause they look like the biggest issue. The stitching itself looks like it's not being sealed properly. This tent has so much potential but any leakage at any point from snow, ice, standing water or rain will make the tent a coffin in most winter weather where a hot tent is usually used
Yeah they offered me a refund if I can provide images. The thing is is we had to vacate camp in the middle of the night. I didn't take freaking pics. It was FREEZING -10° f and all pur gear and bags were WET! So I guess I own a leaky tent I bought in November because I didn't take pics during this crisis. 😡😡😡 this could kill someone seriously. It was SO cold with wet gear.
@Brenda Schwartz so sorry to hear! That’s crazy and that’s exactly what I said back in November. It’s dangerous especially when it’s a hot tent and it leaks like crazy. Thankfully you’re ok. Thanks for watching
@@briargoatkilla our sleeping bags absolutely and the bags where they sat sucked up water all our socks and such were wet and frozen. It was SO freaking cold!
My concern isn't this tent - it hits my needs so once they have it sorted (to your standards) then I'll probably take the plunge. My concern is all the UK UA-camrs who said it was the bees knees and had no issues in the rain. Hmmmm, no point watching a channel that lies to their viewers.
@Tony Morel I hear ya. My first outing with it, I barely spoke about it in the video cause during that trip I had puddles after 6 hours of rain. I wasn’t positive where they came from or how they got in so I started the water test. Found exactly where they were coming from and told Pomoly. Thanks for watching
So I know it's kind of late for the comments but has anybody seam sealed any of these tents before use because that's 55 years old I've learned that seam tape does not work
There are some reviews where they claim theirs hasn’t leaked or that they sealed them and haven’t had leaks but I haven’t had that experience with these tents. I also have not sealed mine. Thanks for watching
Wow. I thought pomoly was one of the better company names in hot tenting. Wrong. I really like the design. But not to use as a pool. Lol. They better hurry and fix these issues. Your killing them. Lol. But glad someone is. Because they charge quite a penny
When a company keeps producing a product that doesn't perform as advertised and selling it while they sort out the deficiencies of the design, they are the classic "Fly By Night" company that is gittin' it while they can, f*ck future sales and brand loyalty. Back in the 18th century this would be called a "Snake oil" sellin' company, because they feed on and take advantage of the ignorance of their customers. They have absolutely no interest in doing anything other than giving THE APPEARANCE of correcting the problem and sucking in a few more customers before they eventually fold up camp and start selling Ginsu knives, version 2 .
its really ridicules' on their part, how difficult is it to set up a water test room? , seriously a shipping container with a rain fall shower head and a drain, test their tent and qc 1 every couple hundred... that ending! LOL.. I get it but
@@AdventureswithSpackmann that is understandable but myself I am looking for info not theatrics. I get enough theatrics from living every day. I as do alot of people like the straight forward info
@Harris Dail I like to give straight forward info with ass backwards comedy lol. This series of videos I played out heavily cause I wanted people to know this hot tent leaks and is dangerous as the company continued to sell and produce it without fixing the problem.
@K F I like to trust a tent but I usually bring a tarp to cover mine as well. But to be fair that usually an Ozark Trail tent from Walmart and they don’t claim to be waterproof lol. Also my first trip with this tent I didn’t cover it. I received it an hour or two before I left and pitched it as soon as I could. Had another tent already packed cause I wasn’t expecting to get this one in time. Temperature were around freezing point and we got 6 hours of rain. Had massive puddles in the tent. Sorry but I’ve never covered a hot tent with a tarp cause of the chimney but it can be done. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann Couldn't the tarp just go from the stove vestibule over the main section of the tent that has the vent? I hammock camp now, but all the tents I have ever used (from high end Sierra Designs to REI tents to Eureka tents) all have a fly, either a separate or one that's integrated. This is the first tent I have ever bought that doesn't have one. I haven't used mine yet - I plan to seam seal it, try it without a fly and then use it with a fly. I will treat all the seams, but your video is helpful for identifying the ones with the most potential to cause problems. Thanks for posting and presenting your findings.
@Sam Britton not sure crap is the correct word but budget friendly or cheap lol. My Instant A frame tents from Ozark Trail is my favorite tent ever. They don’t advertise it as waterproof so if I’m expecting rain I cover it. Still love the tent. Sets up in 30sec. Also even noncheap/non budget tents can leak. Thanks for watching
That tent is just pure trash whether it's stage one stage 2 stage 3 all of them are just trash the way they built it there's no center support for the the walls it's just trash I bought one and it was just a waste of money
Pomoly just sent me my stovehut. They claim it is an improved version. I haven't had a chance to set it up, but I want to test it out
@Richard Encinas when did you receive it if you mind me asking? When did they tell you it’s the improved version? Thanks for watching
@@kellykiller91 gotcha, thank you.
@Richard Encinas I got word from an employee that version 4 is not ready yet. Sounds like you got v3 or lower.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann well I guess I should prepare myself for the leaks

It’s 2024 now are the tents any good ?
They didn't seem to understand that I have yet to use the tent and don't know for sure if it leaks. They also did not give any indication of what they are doing about it. I don't know if they are going to issue a refund, send another tent, fix this one and send it back, or something else. I replied with an Email asking what they are doing about it.

Great testing your test should be the standard. If you had a snow machine your could also do snow load tests.
@Jake C agreed. Good call. Thanks for watching
The version 3 in your video is different from the version 3 they have on their website. The vent is no longer a rectangle but now half moon shaped. I can’t find any videos online of folks water testing that tent. Any chance you could get your hands on that one and test??

Hey will you carry out a review of the latest version of this tent with the zip vent?
@Irish Hunter I would really love to but the company has stopped responding to emails and messages about this product from my original purchase. @Renee Gordon I can’t believe they sent me a tent that leaked with in 5 minutes knowing I’m testing it. Just doesn’t make sense to me. Thanks for watching!
Perhaps you should offer to test hoses and sprayers for them. Maybe the problem is that they don’t have adequate equipment to test with? Yeah, sure!
@Renee Gordon lol obviously they don’t lmao.
It’s crazy that they’re so unprofessional about their response. I always thought pomoly was a premium brand for hot tents because some of the other UA-camrs that push their gear. (Lonewolf 902) cough cough

@Outdoor Outpost ahhhh I’m with ya now. Agreed.
Wonder how would do if they were seam sealed, from what I see a lot of them need to be seam sealed after getting new tents. Still is a nice looking tent, would be worth it to me if just seam sealing it would fix the problem. Really had high hopes for this one thinking of getting one, but if can't fix it passing on it.

Has anyone tried fixing the leaks in the seams with mineral spirits and silicone?
@Black Knight glad you are enjoy them. I don’t know about mineral spirits and silicone but I know someone has seam sealed theirs and says it’s holding dry. I haven’t tried to seal one yet. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann A mixture of equal parts of mineral spirits and silicone creates a DIY seam sealer that is very economical and in my opinion works better than the commercial seam sealer because it is thinner and penetrates better. @Black Knight I’ve seen it used before and actually plan to use it on the ends I am adding the hammock hot tent to waterproof them. It is very cost effective for large application.
Hi, please don't worry, we suspended product sales and made improvements again. We will adopt a new design of vent cover cloth and adopt waterproof zipper to better solve this problem. Thank you.
@@POMOLY I am very excited to try one of the Stovehut 70 tents. It is very commendable that you are redesigning the tent to correct a leak problem. Hope to get to preorder one real soon.
Sounds like they should stick to stoves . I almost always string a tarp out of habit but I understand. If you pay money for a product you expect it to perform they way they claim it will . Have a good one
Rant over. Thanks for listening and for watching lol.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann I was deer hunting one time and had one of the heavy canvas tarps over my tent . Woke about 1:00 am half soaked . @Kid Dangermouse nice! My kids used to love Henry Danger too, so did I. We don’t watch it anymore but it is great. I’m glad I was right lol.

@@AdventureswithSpackmann seam seal it, test it, and sell it to one of us! We'll buy it for sure

The seam. The seam?
(Blink, blink)
Ya know, there isnt a tent I havent sealed the seams in many decades.
@Scinan Isern awesome. Thanks for watching

These companies use the customer as the tester…. Then people complaint they make improvements from customers feed back …. What makes me laugh when people say it a good company because they listen to feed back the fact is they dont care as long as you buy
@Bikepacking I hear ya. I told them about the problem a very soon after the first release of this tent. They continued to sell it for a year before they changed the design of the problematic seams. Thanks for watching

@@AdventureswithSpackmann no worries man! Im a big fan glad I could sell you a good tent! @Clumsy Camper thank you bro! I had it setup in the yard for a couple weeks. Testing stoves and just having a hot tent in the yard lol. That tent has made me love canvas now!
@@AdventureswithSpackmann I would be sold if the doors zipped closed and when you closed them you didn’t loose 10ft lol that was my only issue with it. I should have just kept it and added doors to it like you did. I would also like to see a stovehut70 in canvas! Then maybe it wouldn’t leak. I still have the first version and I seam sealed the entire tent and it hasn’t ever leaked on me lol
@@Open_Throttle55 yeah front and back doors are key! That’s what they need to make. Scrap the hut and move on. Even in canvas in the same design the seam would still collect water. It’s like a gutter lol.
Hi, please don't worry, we suspended product sales and made improvements again. We will adopt a new design of vent cover cloth and adopt waterproof zipper to better solve this problem. Thank you.

Why would anyone trust any tent? I always put a separate tarp over any tent I use and never get wet. Even a cheap throwaway painters plastic will do.
