I adore BAND-MAID...my No.1 Japanese band..Have flown out to Japan twice to see them LIVE (I was at this concert)..But I also love another female Japanese band..and the only other I listen to.. TRiDENT..A wonderful trio of talented ladies.
P.S....Have seen the Tour De France also.....When it came to the UK in 94..Took photos (not a good camera)..Got a pic of Bernard Hainaut when he came over to sign a few autographs. He looked right me...Very cool guy.
arguably the best band in rock today, i adore all 5 of these ladies, been listening to them since there videos started showing up on Y.T. in 2018 (after their first UK/EU tour)
This official live video by Band Maid shows how gifted, professional, and cohesive this wonderful band is. These five young women are top-tier musicians. I can't wait to see their future tour dates so I can see them live again.
Kanami told me her first job was in a factory making bread dough. it wasn't until she lost her job that she realised how much she kneaded it. It was then i realised she was telling me another Mincho Joke.😏 What i meant to say was "Thx for reacting to my all time fave B-M song, Grandad".👍
First song off their fourth album, when they had just taken full control over their creative process. Band-Maid unleashed, and they've never looked back.
Yeah, Miku (rhythm guitar} is the one in the band that holds down the songs. That frees up MISA (bass) to act more as a lead player along with Kanami (lead guitar).
I totally approve of doing original blind reactions. When you finally and inevitably get to the "fan" stage you should look through Ohrenje's channel for his highly professional documentaries. Your appreciation of the band will grow. However, there are quite a number of Band-Maid songs used as background music so get your reactions out of the way first or you'll be asking us "What was that song?" I did not have your discipline. I binged heavily for weeks after I heard my first Band-Maid song.
Yes, MISA is a lead bassist and Band-Maid's sound is based on that (pun intended). When MISA whipped out that bass solo the first time I watched "Thrill", I realized that this band was legit, although I wasn't sure what Kobato was doing over there with that Rickenbacker guitar. Maybe channeling John Lennon? :)
Kobato couldn’t play guitar when the band first started, if you watch the video “thrill”. She never plays. Kanami actually did the rhythm, and they used it as a backing track when they played. Kanami taught kobato how to play, and she practiced so much, and came along so quickly that it impressed zemaitis guitars so much they decided to offer her a signature guitar. That’s what made her change from the rickenbacker. Either way, I liked the old rickenbacker design, though zemaitis looks the part a little better
Like you, many reactors have guitars or keys in the background. I learned just a bit of classical piano as a child, but never got around to learning chord progressions or harmony, so I'm really envious that you and many music reactors could potentially play along with their songs if you wanted to. Inspired by BAND-MAID and other Japanese female bands, I bought a small digital piano last year and have gone back to basics, practicing every day like when I was a kid. Learning an instrument as an adult is hard, but I'll keep at it thinking of them as my 'guardian angels'. ✨🥰🤘
As the Maids said at this huge, 17,000 seat Yokohama concert, it's "Chapter Two" for Band-Maid. What does that mean -- a new direction in music on their upcoming summer album... new battle gear... different stage show or venues... more collabs (The Warning, Lovebites, individual musician appearances?)... member and band projects like scoring movies, aniMaids, soloing projects like Cluppo... someone getting married or 👶🐣?? Pretty exciting stuff! Thx, Gramps! [JUST COMPLETED] BAND-MAID 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR SPIN OFF -- SOLD OUT!! Extra show of selected songs that were not performed at the 10th anniversary tour final at Yokohama Arena. VENUE:KT ZEPP YOKOHAMA DATE: February 22, 2024
This may not be a first reaction video thing for you, but it’s definitely worth a listen. There is a UA-camr called Alexej bagrintsev, and he plays the cello and has turned about 10 bandmaid songs (and a few other artists songs) into classical music, playing all the parts himself and dubing over to play other parts. Bandmaids lead guitarist writes most of the music to their songs, and her brain works as a classical composer, it’s why the band has such complex melodies. Anyway check out his page, because bandmaid songs are as good being classically played as they are in heavy metal. It’s what I listen to just to relax. Have a great day.
I wasn’t going to suggest anymore videos for awhile cause I know you’ve got a lot of requests. However considering you like driving bass songs, you should definitely check out Charles berthoud’s “impossible bass solo” I think it might actually be black magic. I’ve spent a good portion of my life checking out live music, and I still can’t think of a way to describe how impossibly good that guy is.
You mentioned you are working on learning the names. Oh boy, now that you have had a taste of the Japanese metal scene, you should know there are hundreds of female-fronted or all female metal, hard rock and punk bands in Japan, many of them technically adept. If you are interested in a list of around 40 of the best ones, just reply to this comment!
If you want a real challenge, try to find a female Japanese metal band that you don’t like. I’ve been trying to do that for years now, no luck. Either way, good luck.

Nice reaction to a great band playing a fantastic live song
A blessing from the East😊
Band Maid is fire. Been a fan since 2017. Seen them live twice
Great reaction, don't worry about pausing or not pausing, just do what you feel like. And MISA is a lead bassist (she reminds me bit like Entwistle).
No, definately no beard.

A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE FROM START TO FINISH!

Btw Grandad if you want to pause just pause. We won't kill you about it, just rewind 5secs to transition back in :)
that is exactly what I was thinking, well as long as its not like other reactors that pause 10 times during a 3 minute song, then it's all killed
@@Senji-Ch. Haha. Oh you've seen those reactors too then. Yep if he has something to say, a couple of pauses during a song never hurt anyone :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I am guilty of watching too many reactions haha, but yeah I have seen some absurd ones but as you said couple pauses won't hurt ^_^
