BAND-MAID currently has over 130 original songs. Their official You Tube channel has 53 music videos. All of these songs are killer songs that cannot be blocked. Next, I recommend Don’t you tell me, which was released 5 days before the latest video.
"Thrill" was the song that saved Band Maid in their early career> Their management company was considering disbanding the group if they didn't catch on. A J-rock station the in U.S. played "Thrill" and got nearly 2 millions hits on the song in 2 weeks. The company made a wise decision to keep them together. Band Maid celebrated their 10th Anniversary tour finale at the Yokohama Arena in front of over 8,000 adoring fans. An official live video of one of their songs performed at the concert was recently released on UA-cam. The song, "Don't You Tell ME", is an absolute BANGER. It also shows how far the group has come in the 10 years since "Thrill" was released.
A few things that make this video clearly a early song from Band-Maid. Kanami on her Addictone guitar (They have two signature versions for Kanami). MISA on her Fender Jazz bass. Miku "Holding" her Rickenbacker (which she bought because it looked good to her).
Kanami asked Miku why in the world she chose the Rickenbacker guitar and Miku said she had picked it out because it had the Band-Maid black and white colors. Going from not knowing anything about guitars to an extremely good rhythm guitarist in 10 short years shows the incredible determination and drive of our little pigeon. Po.
If you watch the documentary on Saiki, you'll see that in her first show with the band, the opening song is done with both her and Miku holding mics, sharing vocal duties. But later on in the doc is another clip where Miku is already playing the Rick in that show, even if it was only part time at that point. There appears to be many myths about these ladies that have taken hold outside of Japan, many times built off of one off-hand comment from an interview.
Just in case you didn't know, Miku (rhythm guitar) did not know how to play guitar when this video came out. Watch closely and you'll see she barely strums a note. Kanami needed more room to play and needed another guitarist, which Band-Maid couldn't afford. She asked Saiki but she just wanted to sing so the Queen (Miku) stepped up and said I'll do it. Kanami set out and taught Miku how to play and in a few short years she had her own signature Zemaitis guitar and is a force to be reckoned with on rhythm guitar. Miku is IMHO, the hardest working female in music.
The Maids are helping keep rock music alive and making it Thrilling and hotter than ever before.🔥Saiki🔥Miku🔥Kanami🔥MISA🔥Akane Thank you Band-Maid... and thank you Dash & Dad! We're all becoming MAIDIACS! 🤣
Thanks for reaction D&D, Thrill was my first introduction to BM and they just blew me away, try their latest OMV live at Yokohama Arena "Don't you tell me", the BM train is steaming ahead full speed and all are welcome!
I HIGHLY recommend for future songs from Band-Maid, to cover their live songs... Their music videos are always really rad... But their live show videos of songs REALLY shows off what Band-Maid are capable of...as actual artists with extreme talent... ...especially Kanami on lead guitar...holy hell! Dad, you would be impressed!!!
From Japan Introducing BAND-MAID to those who are new to it. BAND-MAID is celebrating its 11th year since its formation, and the five members remain the same. They formed in 2013 and Thrill was their first video released in the fall of 2014. They were unknown in Japan and continued to perform at small live houses, but were on the verge of disbanding. Thrill suddenly broke out in May of 2015, gaining 2 million views in two weeks and saving them from disbanding. That's because before they knew it, it was uploaded to J Rock Radio, a famous You Tube channel that introduces Japanese music. It was their second miracle. The first time, of course, was when the five of them met.
I'm surprised you have not gotten to this earlier. I've started my Japanese rabbit hole journey for a couple years now. I found a website listing 500 Japanese bands, just started on that one. Here are some bands I've checked out Lovebites, Galneryus, East Of Eden, Mana Diagram, Mary's Blood, Unlucky Morpheus, Trident, Bridear, Nemophila, Asterism
Band Maid! 🔥 ❤ “Thrill” is their version of baby pictures. Their very first video that would’ve been their last if not for it going viral. Thank his holiness Tiny Hat-san 🤲🏽 Welcome to the best thing to happen in the hard rock world in a generation. Why not follow up this very first video with their most recent? “Don’t you tell ME,” official live from Yokohama. It will give you a chance to compare the “before and after”
This is nothing! It's their very first Music Video from 10 years ago. They're lucky it went viral because if it hadn't their label was going to drop them.
