Id like the games to be a bit darker and bring back the ps2 humor. Ratchet and clank now just seem too happy go lucky. I did enjoy playing rift apart but I couldnt help but cringe at the beginning.

Assuming all the leaks are true, then I'm not surprised Rift Apart did poor in sales at the time because of everything going on around that time. Which is too bad cause Rift Apart was a good game. Also 2029 for a new game?! It'd be one thing if it was like 2025 or 2026 for the next one, but 8 years after Rift Apart?! I want the game to have enough time to get made, but that is way too long to wait. I understand we can't get these games every year or every other year like we used to, but still that's too long to wait.

Nah, veterans didn't like the game. The game was shorter, less challenging & overstimulating, making it harder to keep track of what is going on sometimes on the screen, it was supposed to be a continuation of the future saga, but didn't add up much to the story wasting time in a new useless character. Talking about character if Rivet was more attractive or unique, not just a purple Ratchet with eyeliner, it would have sold more. Something like "Rouge, the Bat" from Sonic or "Krystal" from Starfox.
@@lagopusvulpuz1571 It's actually longer than the PS2 games. At least I am able to complete RAC 1 under 8 hours but RA takes around 9-10. The story adds quite a bit, showing Ratchets self-doubts and insecurities. Meeting new alternate versions of familiar characters was pretty cool, and Rivet is a great new protagonist. She's quite different from Ratchet, so I don't see her being the same. The game isn't hard, but why should it be? It never stops the action, which makes it fun. But you can disagree. That’s fine, I suppose:)

I think Insomniac would be unintelligent to not continue the series, even if it won't be soon. With the roaring success of Rift Apart, and its ambiguous ending, it is inevitable that a new game will be generated. As for my opinion, it should mark the tie up to the Lombax storyline. It has been around for a lengthy time, it is time for something fresh. The villain should certainly be my darling, Emperor Tachyon. Not only was he drastically underutilized in the 1 game he is physically present in, he is an integral part in the franchise's history, and he would be the sole logical antagonist. If anything, i do NOT want the next mainline installment to be solely dedicated to Rivet. A Miles Morales type of game with her is not negative, but she already stole the spotlight from Ratchet in Rift Apart enough in my opinion. Whatever happens, I am interested.

@@gold_gear to me they were bland and took away focus for my main guys, the reason I loved the originals was the character journey for the two best buds. It feels like Insomniac is too focused on the ESG score money these days and have inserted diverse characters just to meet that criteria with a black captain quark and female replacements without giving them “character”, they’re just friendly orrrrr taking Ratchets attitude. I’m hoping at least with Sam maggs gone the writing improves and we get that classic R&C edge and comedy back.
@@2xRainb0w I really enjoyed Kit's character development and her friendships with Ratchet and Rivet. In the end she became more confident and Rivet forgave her for ripping her arm off. I think they are great characters, very different from Ratchet and Clank, who had their own internal conflicts. But hey, that's just how I see it:)

They also ended RA on a cliffhanger and making another game in 2029 is a bit evil. We can't know for sure, but hopefully the game will eventually come out sooner. Personally, I expected it to come out in 2025, after they release Spiderman and Wolverine. Well, we’ll see how it turns out in the end...

rift apart was honestly really good if not a masterpiece told a wonderful story and had great gameplay as well
