Thanks for the tip on good quality butyl tape. We had one of these 17's 20 years ago. I now snowbird in a 1986 Bigfoot 9.5 truck camper, complete with all original appliances, cabinets, and "tech" as in not one circuit board... But yes, you have to keep the water out of the bilge (bottom) - and make provision for it to drain when it gets in there accidentally, which it will because there is plumbing inside lol Looking forward to this series
One of my favourite truck campers! They are such good quality! I might be adding a bit of tech to this one… but not much! Wish I could snowbird…. Maybe in a few more years 😁 Thanks for following along!
😂 I think we are going to keep that! This is a great place for picking up used RV parts… I think I saw a fridge there that was the right size. maps.app.goo.gl/BwWjJwLtDMFmYq8D7?g_st=ic
Looking good. For your next vid, would you discuss how you are removing/ demoing the wall/ceiling. Also, can you show where the wood frames are? I am doing the identical trailer. Identical year. Thanks for posting.
I’ll see if I can get some close up shots, I’m almost done the next videos filming but I’ll see what I can include for you! Definitely got the floor sorted out it really feels good now!
If you watch the B19 project he tears the windows apart, and replaces the internal window seals as they shrink over time. You can order them through sunview windows.
Instead of Butyl tape for sealing windows, have you ever thought of or tried Quad sealant? This is a windows and door sealant that doesn't shrink, or crack, it stays flexible and it fills in any uneven spaces when mounting/installing windows or doors.
I hadn’t really tried anything else. The butyl is just my go too. I haven’t had one leak after and if you ever need to pop the window out in the future to repair it comes out no problem. I’ll take a look at that sealer though 👍
Your choice of materials for the camper renovation blends durability with style perfectly.
Thanks
It's going to be awesome! ❤
Thanks
I think so! I really like the layout and design!

Have you tried the computer fan trick? Really makes them run well 👌
