Everything you said week 6 and 7 I can identify with. We have to remember how important firstly is how important water is in this journey, secondly protein to heal, listening to our body on how much we can eat. And yes the non scale victory. You are doing great
I am at 6 weeks post op and I’m having the exact problem! I am so hungry right before bed. I thought maybe my sleeve wasn’t working lol.Thank you for sharing.
Thankfully that definitely went away with time, though some days if I eat dinner too early I still notice getting quite hungry before bed. I hate that feeling!
Girl we must be twins! I had a horrible few weeks too! Mine were mostly stress (grandkids at the house). I could not deal with them and working from home! I feel you with the bowel issues, I had to use Miralax because the struggle is real! My blood sugar has been an issue as it seems like my insulin requirements change every week. I have not been able to add too many new foods because my new tummy does not like beef or pork yet. It will get in line soon! Hunger has not been an issue at all, just the opposite, I have to tell myself it is time to eat. I think that is the extra protein drink I need mid morning and afternoon that staves off the hunger. You are a reminder to me that we have to celebrate the little victories and the scale is “the devil”! I told my boyfriend that I don’t see the weight loss in the mirror but see how I don’t have to smash my hip with the car door to close it! Ah yes, the simple things! LOL Keep up the great work, love the pep talks!
Did you get the sleeve or the bypass? I know bypass is supposed to help the insulin issues but I'm not sure how long that even takes. It seems every week I have something new to figure out. I've noticed my hunger really wasn't there much at first (I didn't even get hungry for the first time after surgery until almost a week later) but it's been gradually ramping up. I guess my body is getting used to things. And YES! I have to remind myself of the simple things a lot so I can keep perspective. Things are getting easier and more enjoyable to do and that makes my quality of life so much better!
I'm going back through your videos to where I am now and your 75 pound story hit me right in the feels. In 2018 I dropped 84 pounds, getting down to 290 (for 1 day) and couldn't lose any more. I regained up to 335, where I was day my preop diet started, and I'm sitting at 292.6 halfway through week 7, terrified that my body will stop again and I won't lose any more. I know logically that's ridiculous, but I feel it the same. And I also feel the "I won't have made any progress until I get below that previous low weight." Ugh. Thank you so much for posting this because it's in my face now and I can work through it.
I was looking for a hug emoji but I couldn't find one! I hope this will work! 👩❤️👩 I know that feeling so well and re-watching that is so sad because instead of being proud of myself and excited, I was stuck in this spiral of not feeling like I had made it past my "personal best" and therefore this was all work that I just had to do to get back to my starting point. That's such a tough mental hurdle and I just had to keep pushing through and trying to talk positively to myself. That's totally easier said than done, though. I feel you and you've got this, you're doing so great! 💕
I had a gastric bypass on January 26, 2021. I saw that you were told 3 meals a day. My doctor has me eating 5 times a day. Also with the water at meals, my doctor said 5 minutes before meals & 30 minutes after meals. Just wanted you to know.
It definitely differs between each surgeon and each medical team. I always recommend people speak to their medical professionals regarding what is recommended and required for their health. My experience is just regarding Mexico Bariatric Center specifically!
I believe you are doing a wonderful job, keep up the great work:) I’m just trying to lose enough weight to wipe my behind again without using the dreaded butt wiping wand!! 😂 😆 😝
I mean, people can die from any surgery or any medical procedure. From the research I did, the complication and death rates from Gastric Bypass are really not much different than any other laparoscopic procedure. You've got to just make sure you take care of yourself as with any medical situation. As far as accepting anyone doing bypass, I'm not sure I quite understand the question. I'm in no position to accept or deny anyone anything they choose to do, and clearly I chose bypass for weight loss for myself so...

I appreciate the real talk. Focusing on the big picture is so hard for me.

I had the RNY bypass on Dec 3. My pre surgery weight was 279, surgery weight was 266, present weight is 234.
The information you share with us is very helpful. I'll focus on getting my water in and pay attention to what my body is telling me. Thankyou.
Gosh I'm so glad I found you. Really great information. God bless
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it's been helpful!!

The difference 20 lbs. made when it came to showering and going to the bathroom was insane!
Is it true people can die from gastric bypass. As a bariatric patients would you accept anyone doing bypass for weight loss
