This fly looks awesome. Right now most water in my area is very low. Would this fly be possible without dumb-bell eyes or would it not swim correctly? Thank you for sharing this!
I believe those are the Shank Jaws Jonathan was using, but we use the Big Game to hold our shank chuck as well and it rocks too, you can't go wrong either way really!
My version of the “trout” avenger is same shank with an opst size 6 hook, small yellow chenille bump, UV yellow silly legs, yellow or burnt orange angora goat, (very important) a sparse mix of golden demon and red kraken dub, rusty brown or brown/ black barred ostrich, black rabbit, eyes the same, thread the same, follow Jonathan’s instructions, just change the colors based on how he tied this one...big rainbows love this fly here in Idaho! If you are in the area, try it on the south fork of the Boise river...amazing fly! Thanks guys!
Thank you for explaining the choices made while creating/tying this fly. Will definitely be including these in my box.
Yep they're a good choice to have when fish don't want the meat whistle
Nice tie!
He nailed this one solid!

It might not swim right.........try unweighted eyes, bead chain eyes, etc..........
Beautiful fly. What jaws are on your vise? Big game or shank?
