- The intruder has become more of a style than a specific pattern. Here Caleb takes us back to the old school with a more simple, elegant and easier to cast intruder than is common these days. He makes it look easy. Materials:
Shank: OPST Intruder Shank, 45mm
Hook: OPST Swing Hook, size 2
Trailing wire: 30 pound Berkley Fireline
Eyes: Extra small brass eyes
Butt: Senyo's Fusion Dub, Pink Lady
Rear hackle: Intruder Feather Prop Hackle, Bright Purple
Twin Tails: Purple Ostrich
Rear flash: Purple Flashabou
Body: Diamond Braid, Silver
Forward dubbing ball: Senyo's Fusion Dub, Electric Grape
Composite loop: EP foxy brush, chromatic, black/purple/blue, black STS trilobal dubbing, and black ostrich
Forward flash: Purple holographic flashabou
Collar: Black schlappen hackle
Wing: OPST saddle hackle, purple - Спорт

Cool to see some fresh technique! Wrapping the eyes on last looks like a great idea but I bet I can eff that up real quick. Counter wrapping the hackle "wing" looks like it works real well, great tying vid! Bring this dude back for more.
The real secret to successful ties can be found in that tallish bottle with the brown liquid inside. Always works for me, anyway.
Nice!!👍🏻 one thing i’ll add to get reverse wrap like you use around eyes when wrapping in grizzly; you can also throw in two half hitches, then reverse wrap. Repeat to continue original direction. Learned from Ronn Lucas many years ago on setting dee wings.
