- We summited Tabeguache Peak, elevation 14,158’, via the west ridge route starting from Jennings Creek trailhead. This is the non-standard route to summit this peak. In fact, the trailhead isn’t even marked and only has room for a couple of vehicles. As a result one can expect near total solitude on this hike (we didn’t see anyone until the summit). There is a faint trail most of the way, and the views along the ridge are spectacular. One can keep the entire hike under class3 with careful route finding. Highly recommend this route if one needs to bag Tabeguache only instead of a Shavano-Tabeguache combo. Total hiking stats from TH: 8 miles with 3,800ft elevation gain

Interesting topography, nice panoramas, remnant cornice. Thanks!
Thanks Mark
Did Shavano last year, will do Tabeguache this year, is this TH easy accessible ?
There are a few rough spots beyond Angel of Shavano camp ground. I’d say a Subaru can probably make it, but a SUV with decent clearance and 4Lo will be recommended
