  • Thorodin Mountain, elevation 10,540’, is a prominent peak along the Colorado Front Range. Its summit saw few visits a year due to lack of any established trail. On this occasion I started out from Gap Road access lot and bushwhacked up south-east slope to the summit in snowshoes. Some minor rock scrambling was involved but no more than Class2. Didn’t go over to Starr Peak as I had planned due to deep snow. Total stats: 2.8miles with 1,145’ elevation gain

Very pretty, nice views, good bushwhack, like the cloud/ground shots.

A nice snowshoe ascent. Increased music volume with summiting is jarring. Beautiful panoramas. Interesting to see the rock face below the summit via drone. Thanks!
