That is a great sounding pedal! The Dude is really nice also, so I guess we’re all just gonna have to Get Them All😱. Thx for the cool demo. Just waiting for the next video!
Thanks. Yeah it's tough. I'm actually going to have to do some A/B comparison. They're really quite similar but I think the Zendrive might have slightly more range with its "voice" control.
It adds...three dimensionality. I get, for lack of a better word, "Texas." Throaty, glassy, without that bees in a box mush. Really exceptional, and, as always. terrific playing.
I’m going off memory here because I bought that pedal for review and can’t afford to keep everything. I do seem to recall unity gain is around noon but all controls are pretty interactive so expect that to change a bit depending on how everything else is set. Touch sensitivity is a real strength of the Zendrive. You can easily set it to go from cleanish to gain with pick attack. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
The original Zendrive was never tube. The tube version is the Zendrive 2. I'm not sure that model is made any more. It's not on the site. The original was always more popular and it's the one most people refer to. The tube version has some nice, albeit subtle characteristics though. Mostly a subtle tube sag. Yes, they're somewhat pricey, but not a lot more than similar pedals. I think the Zendrive is $239 new whereas most competitors are about $199. If you're really interested in a new one and not in a hurry, get on Sean's mailing list. He does flash sales where select pedals are often half price or less. He sends an email and you have to order right away to get the price.

@@leonardgriffieblues5845 it does
Well. Did it bump it? I just got the white zendrive and it did bump my dude
It did actually, though I don’t really use that type of overdrive much when playing live.
That sounded great.
Thanks. Very enjoyable pedal to play.
Nice video and playing! Try out the Mooer Rumble Drive. Inexpensive and great Zen Drive tones.
Thanks, I’ve heard that about the Mooer.

Thanks my friend. Yeah, not hard to see why it was Robben’s pedal of choice.
Thank you for the very nice review and playing! How is the volume range and sensitivity on this pedal? Does it have unity gain around 12 o'clock?

Nice pedal. Not cheap, even second hand. Is it still a genuine tube pedal or is it now solid state?

Another good, and inexpensive Dumble type pedal is Mooer Rumble Drive. Video out there compares to Zendrive- same sound.
That could be, but component quality is far from equal. Nothing wrong with enjoying them for casual use though.
