The vintage-style gear specialists dive into the legacy of two classic drive pedals.
The Warm Audio Centavo is an accurate recreation of the most sought-after overdrive pedal of the 90's and beyond. Whether you're after the fabled clean boost tones, transparent overdrive, or you want to push your dirty channels to true grit, the Centavo has all of the adored tones of the vintage box. In addition, the Warm Audio Centavo has the infamous "MOD" selectable on the back. When in the "up" position, low-end response on the bottom strings is extended. With a true-to-original, custom-cast golden enclosure & all the signature sounds of the original, Centavo delivers an authentically legendary pedal experience.
The Warmdrive is a true reproduction of a highly revered pedal known for delivering the tones of an unattainable overdriven amp. The original pedal is known to go from silky-smooth tones reminiscent of a special overdriven amp at the sweet spot, all the way to sustain-rich distortion. The Warmdrive combines carefully-selected components & true-to-original circuit design to achieve the same tone and sonic profile of the legendary pedal. The "secret sauce" of the Warmdrive, just like the original, is the unique voice/tone control combination on the stomp box. Giving artists extra versatility, this control allows the player to modify the frequency both before (Voice control) and after (Tone control) the clipping stages.

Big fan of John, his understated but enthusiastic style is pretty rare.
Yeah, the first time I saw him he still had dark hair
Dude sold me on a MXR Clone Looper. I do enjoy his demos and rig rundowns.
Well said
ever since I bought the Centavo, Ive been cranking out riffs and solos that blow me away. Tone is a huge motivator.
I always love watching John's reviews.
John you are such an amazing player! Love watching your demos man!
Love your demos John. You have both great licks and ear to find interesting sounds.
John Bolinger is a sick guitar player. Hey how about a John Bolinger rig rundown?
Always great dines, John!
Love your writing, too. Very inspiring.
Great Demo John, thank you. That ‘61 355 is gorgeous. Cheers!
Thanks, John, for the great video as always.
John is very knowledgeable and a great guitar player. I dig his gear demos and Rig Rundowns. Awesome guy!
John's playing has been on fire lately! he's always been on it but DAMN.
Well so far John, your review of these two pedals is the best on UA-cam. That 62 355 is a wet dream!
Fantastic Talent warm friendly interviews the dude just rocks.... thanks John
Really liking the Centavo. Warm rich & articulate. Thanks for a great video 👍👍
I love the nuanced, understated playing in the opener - just fantastic.
Great sounding pedals and the price is right. Thanks!
Excellent demo John, thanks sir.
Good demo !
Killer video, thank you John!
another great review, Thanks!
Lovely bit of playing John, keep up the great work. Peace from Ireland to ya mo chara agus go n-eirí an bothar leat.
Thanks John for the recommendation to subscribe to PG magazine, did not know I could get it mailed to me and it's only like $1 an issue. What a deal. Bollinger is the best. BTW, you do the best Rig Rundowns.
Also just ordered a deep dish from little ceasars! Super stoked
I like that Warmdrive.
Centavo has a permanent place on my pedal board. I stack it with a Full-tone OCD and the tones are absolutely pure bliss. 50 LP standard through a Tonemaster super reverb. Honestly the best tones that I have ever heard. I also stack it with a Friedman BE OD for heavier tones. I leave my centavo on all the time by the way. Thanks for the great video and review as always. I've been a huge fan ever since the beginning of PG magazine and always enjoyed reading your articles too. Great playing too! Thanks again.
I love his Rig Rundowns - he is so cool and Laid back. Honestly one-of-my Favorite things on You Tube. Seems like a real down to earth guy. oNe LoVe from NYC
You never give me your money, what a fitting klon intro tune :)
There’s a video where Robben Ford describes his ZenDrive and he said the Voice control is “Fender” to the left and “Marshall” to the right… or “American” vs “British.” I have an ‘05 ZenDrive and that makes since to my ears. I prefer a saggier Marshall sound and like my ZenDrive Voice set at about 1’clock.
Nice playing John!
Damn, John!! Those are two amazing guitars.
I want to see a rig rundown of John. He has some killer gear
Nice! WARM are like the Yang to Behringer's Yin.
John, I read your last article about weakness in the hands. I just wanted to give you advice. Years ago I was having major wrist issues on my fretting hand. I went and had a deep tissue massage on my forearm. The therapist used metal instruments to knead out knots in my arm. It was an instant fix. BTW I enjoy your reviews including this one. Take care.
Thanks Slim, great advice. I'll try it.
@@johnbohlinger4868 also check for carpal tunnel
My pinched nerve in my should greatly reduces the strength in my right hand. Chiropractor fixes it in a minute.
I just bought the warm drive, its total game changer
I bought the warmdrive and it sounds really good with my strat.
I got my Zen Drive years ago when Love Pedal was making them for Hermidia. Very versatile pedal!
Lovepedal still makes the Zendrive, got one coming in a week or so ;)
Pretty good stuff, shame they have awful customer service. Glad to see Warm doing the Zen Drive.
@@zach7j Definitely on that point, though I’ve had Lovepedal reply and fix a pedal for me within a week or so, way better than other brands customer service in my eyes. I also wonder if WA is going to make the different versions like Lovepedal?
@@passionplayer7 They occasionally have a couple other pedals I’d like to try, but never will because of that experience. Literally ignored through 3-4 attempts to figure out where I could simply find a part and repair the damn thing myself.
@@zach7j Wow, sry to hear that man. CS is so important these days with great products coming from all over the place.
Love your Vids.
Old overdrive crapped out on me just ordered the centavo!! Yay!
They make very nice pres and mics
70 year old guy playing great guitar good to hear.
Right around 13:00 mark that Warm Drive and the Thin Line sounded very Americana/ Sheryl Crow vibes!
The Centavo does it well too!👌🏻✌🏻
Sounds nice
Another inspiring demo JB. Awesome pedals, but did they have to go and rip off the original graphics on top of the circuit design?
nice playing
I've never had a guitar with a Bigsby but looks like a nice vibrato unit
I like both with the tele.
John is so fun to watch.
I wonder how it compares with the Ceriatone Centura
Not that most car stereos are great, but these pedals sound amazing through my work Toyota Hiace system hahaha!
I can hear the pedals effects much more clearly defined on the Tele than the 335. Both sound great. But the Warm drive I'm thinkin' My Tele would thank me! .Hey, Lets go Hoss!
It might sound even better. The transistors don't know how much they cost.
I've played out of the original Klon and warm Audio version l like the warm Audio much better
I couldn't hear where the mod switch made any difference. What other pedal(s) are you running with these two?
Who doesnt like John? He's like an old friend of ours.
I own a Hermida Zendrive and I picked up a Warm Audio Warmdrive. I'm guessing the people behind Warm Drive are Dumbledore, Gandalf and Merlin.
Hmmmm stashed thumb pick or taped lower 3 strings behind the nut? Tele it’s the 3 upper strings
I love my Klon Clone, it can do so many things. It colors a somewhat boring amp. It can act like a tube screamer and a light to heavy distortion when you push it.
I can’t even imagine how amazing a real one would sound if the $20 clones are this good….
John playing with the knobs is an exercise in futility. He sounds great at any setting.
12:45 really starts pushing the brian may sound
That's a nice tune. What do you call it?
John, you're cheating! You're using a couple of the greatest guitars known to man & you're John Bollinger! Great job! Killer tone even with no effects! 😂👌
Dang bro, where you get that guitar?
I heard John had his finger removed and a glass one made to replace it
“I always give you my money” after watching these videos 😂😂😂
are we here for his playing or to check out the pedal
Clapton, Bohlinger, Gilmour.
What amp are you going into?
Not a huge fan of the pedal, but damn that guitar (and the playing!) sounds sweet.
If you've been playing for a while you seldomly dime anything.....let the amp shine and the pedal bring out the goodness.....get a great amp and help it out with great pedals
´The tones I hear, I easily also get out of a good tube amp alone - as long as it is no Fender amp - without one of these pedals, so why should then one of these be necessary?
You can find real zendrives for 100 bucks that sound great.
“Centavo” means penny in Brazil 😂
I thought the white pedal was pretty good. The gold pedal was verging on simply pedestrian and bad,
Lol I have a clone of the original centaur ( bought it on wish for 38 $ u.s. ) and guess what it sounds so close to the original centaur that they have fooled some " experts" lol.
Warm drive sounds too fizzy - Zendrive has a smoother more natural tone
Nope, a pick🙂 Wiggle wiggle 🤣
Wallet - OUT!
Totally different sound then the Klon
Still not sure how I feel about everyone just remaking other peoples creations. Music, film and everything else have become very liberal in their use of other people creations. I suppose if everyone involved is cool with it and getting paid then all is swell. Always enjoy Mr. Bohlinger playing and demos either way!
What?!
It's weird that you can't patent a circuit
Somebody please put me out of my misery and help me with the title of the opening song?? I can’t put my finger on it..
Lol I’m scrolling comments for it too. It’s right on the top of my brain.
Found it! The Beatles! ua-cam.com/video/BpndGZ71yww/v-deo.html
Who else is using a Centavo in 2024?
I’m relieved I got a pre-lawsuit unit.
The post-lawsuit casing and knobs are not like the first run
It's NOT ANOTHER fuckin' KLON clone is it?
It's exactly that haha.
And a zendrive klon ! Exciting isn't it? Lol
@@CBGypsy03 Yeah, just LIKE the guitar world NEEDS another TS!
@@DMSProduktions 🤦♂️
@@CBGypsy03 WHAT? Sarcasm go OVER your head Cpt. Cody?
The Warm Drive sounds okay, but the Centavo is garbage.
Not hating but anything "new" that blatantly rips off existing brands is not worthy of my consideration or time.
Do something original, make something original better but get your own branding for goodness sakes. Lame.
Some contemporary Gibson and fender guitars would be better to demonstrate these pedals. Vintage instruments are kind of pretentious. Thanks for sharing
When John bought em they called em used.
@@benlogan430 get real with us, the average consumers.
Just a helpful hint: Every time you say "uhhh" or "umm" in a video your hair gets a little more grey.
Go talk trash somewhere else
@@kcarl3328 So sorry sir or madam, I'm just reporting the facts. Frequent "uh" and "um" utterances do not contribute to the image of a professional video suitable for public consumption don't you (or do you) think?
what a shite review
Give 'er the Goose Johnny!
Bottleneck is the worst tool to demonstrate a guitar pedal or a sound. Fingers are the way to go.
Did you watch the whole thing? 😂
Lovepedal no longer makes Zendrive pedals. The one sold by Reverb are in mint condition; not brand new.
