Yes, you can hear that bad Jake. Kinda like a mis-fire sound. I had run a 3408 in a 79 W900 in Great Falls Mt. Had a stripe down the drive shaft, once it made 180 degree rotation it was pulled and re-tubed. Owner always had a spare on the shelf. Hauled heavy equipment, D9G was the heaviest, then the crusher plant. He also had a Pete long nose with a 12V71T. Your right foot would cook when into hard pull. Right next to the throttle pedal was a bulge in the floor pan for clearance on the air compressor. Took 2 min people to pull hood open. Great truck for converting diesel into noise gotta say!
Not long after this video we ended up replacing the jake heads, they were worn out since new springs and o rings didn't help them. They are better then in this video now but still not that strong.
Let me just say this, after 32+ years of driving my favorite is still my 379 short nose, 525 N14 13 sp. running back and forth bet SoCal and Ky.
