    Hey Jordan. Thanks for this video.
    I am currently writing a proposal for a client who wants social media management services. I had to go back to the drawing board with my old pricing. I've never really done a full comprehensive pricing of my social media services. I've used the per hour model before and the per word model for writing content. I used to charge $50 per 500 words (Changing to $100 now since that seems more than reasonable from your video) for articles, etc. I've definitely learned quite a few things reading articles today and watching this video. When I first started my freelance business I was definitely in a place where I comprised in order to have clients to build my portfolio. Now that I am no longer in that place of desperation, and one of my biggest goals this year is to scale my business, I need to revamp my pricing to really make what I'm worth.

    7-10 years ago Upwork's prices were 1/4 to 2/3 under market rate, but not anymore! The past 5 years they've gone up every year worldwide. You can no longer hire a decent contractor outside the US and get away with charging double. They've all raised their pricing. Both Upwork and Fiverr's rates have become increasingly unreasonable. And I charge double the rates you mentioned in your video. Sure, you can still find some (low cost) but it's a hell-of-a-lot more difficult. BTW, I agree with you on everything else. Nice work here, thanks! :)

    20 to 30 % is so small specially with small business. I just recommend getting a set price like $500 for budgets from 1,000 to 2,000 and then go up from there and then start taking around 20% when budget is 10,000 and higher. It just makes more sense

    So when your meeting a potential client, do you assess their needs and offer a specific package? Or do you give them the options of different tiers? Also, in another video you showed your different tiers with your first tier being $997. If somebody wanted ad spend on top of what a tier 1 package offers would you just add it on top of the price of tier 1 or would you require them to go with your tier 2 package that offers ad spend. Also in that video you showed your Tier 2 ad spend being between $10-$20 a day. Is that included in the tier 2 price or is that added on top of the tier 2 price?

    • @Blackhearts60
      @Blackhearts60 5 років тому +3

      If I'm understanding it right, the $1000 is for the base package to include whatever services they need (seo, email marketing, managing SM) and the %20 is for doing the add portion of the service. So If they want to spend money on PPC it costs %20 of their funds to manage the ppc. And if they want more they pay the $1000 for the other services. Am I right Jordon?

      You would be paying for the software, but you would bake those costs into what you are charging your client.
      Some of the software we using is
      GoHighLevel : www.gohighlevel.com/main-page?fp_ref=cereal-entrepreneur
      We use this tool as it is much more than just a CRM/Campaign tool, but you would have to get an SMTP with it. We recommend using Mailgun for this.
      ActiveCampaign : www.activecampaign.com/?_r=B7R75W3F
      If you are just focusing on emails for your client then this is a great tool for that.

    Yo
    Been watching your content for a month now. Great stuff. Got a question you may be able to shed some light on hopefully.
    One of my products that I launched sold super well. I was raising the price every few days from $35 all the way to $55 and still was selling like crazy. I only had 3 other competitors. So here was and is the concern. The item was an electronic kids light and it came with a remote. I got to over 8% returns due to defects. Customers said the thing just wouldn't turn on. So Amazon took down my listing. Meanwhile I had another batch finished in China waiting for my final payment to be shipped. I haven't made the final payment and have just been stewing around trying to figure out if I should even go threw with this product again. Main reason I am nervous is that I have 25k in 2 new products invested being manufactured right now that I am confident will sell very well for quit sometime. I am scared that Amazon would possibly shut my account down if I go through with the lights again and get another over 8% returns due to defects. What is your take ? Is shutting down a sellers account something that Amazon could or should do due to a 2nd run of over 8% defective products ?
    I want to still sell the lights but not if it will put my account and other product investments in danger.
    Thanks for any insight

    I run a small web design business making around 1-2k a month and would love to expand however I have no knowledge on the other services such as ppc, social media marketing. I only have very limited seo knowledge which my clients are aware of before I build their sites. Would you recommend I learn all these other services or just stick to my speciality and outsource the other services? I'm finding it extremely difficult to know what do next to expand and how to even offer the other services. I watched your other video about why agencies fail and my main issue is the lack of industry experience unfortunately. Thanks!

      yelshamusic I do recommend that you learn the other services and at least be able to manage two or three of them on your own. You should know how all of them work cohesively though so that you can build the campaign strategy and make sure it incorporates properly. If you ever want to expand to something more then you should definitely learn those services. Have you checked out my academy?

    Hi! I am freelancing for a an agency and I am having a hard time determining my rates. I do digital strategy, ad implementation and management and creative strategy/devicing ad concepts. I priced out digital strategy, implementation and management based on the hours I predict it would take by size of the account (which is probably the wrong way) but when it comes to creative, developing the ads, the time varies and the amount of time that goes into developing creative as well as selecting the assets isnt contingent upon the size of the account so I'm not sure how to price that. Also to mention, the agency takes on small scale clients with ad budgets of $500 (start up companies) and agency takes their cut, so it's difficult to determine what is reasonable at the same time getting paid my value. Can you help?

    What platform do you use to manage all this? (social, email marketing, landing pages) Do you use Hubspot or something similar?

    • @CerealEntrepreneurJordanSteen
      @CerealEntrepreneurJordanSteen  6 років тому +1

      Like for planning the content?

    • @enfinite05
      @enfinite05 6 років тому

      Not for planning but just for managing it all. All the social advertising, I would imagine your driving that traffic to a landing page and then capturing and managing all those leads. Thats 3 steps which usually all have there own software or platform to run, manage, track and capture. Just wondering what you use or prefer?

    Hi so a client once asked me what the probability of making a sale when they decide to do digital marketing with me and I wasn't really sure of what to answer. They also asked like what their ROI will be if they spend lets say XXX amount on digital marketing and ad spend. Can you advise on this?

    I've experienced challenges with service fees when it comes to having unpredicted promotions from clients. It's the time that is not so easy to calculate into monthly management fee. In this case, I'd say that the management fees are too low and that gives headaches.
    What do you think about a deal such as: Minimums management fee + % of earned revenue? If I can scale the clients business (ecommerce), then I receive more money for that, which in my head makes it win win, as I make more money for them and they are willing to pay more.

      If that works with your company and will cover your overhead it could be a win win for both you and your client.

    Let's say a furniture store bought a $500 package from you. (facebook branding)
    Do you include X amount or creative content work (graphics/gif) in the $500 package?
    Or it is just basic management.

    • @CerealEntrepreneurJordanSteen
      @CerealEntrepreneurJordanSteen  4 роки тому

      Sorry, but the question is a little confusing as it sounds like the $500 package you are selling is for branding?
      If you are selling a $500 package for branding, then yes you should define what is included in that package.
      ie. Logo creation, color scheme, font style, etc. (Essentially create a branding guide for them.
      However, if you are asking if you charge the customer a $500 package for facebook ads, then that depends. If your client gives you a bunch of crap to work with then obviously the ads you setup might not perform well. If your ads don't perform then they aren't going to continue paying you right?
      So you can do some creative work, but don't go overboard. We have put several ad campaigns together that we have made creative for just using image search and 1-2 hours of creative editing.
      Hope this helps

    • @CerealEntrepreneurJordanSteen

      It really just depends. Again that is just a framework for choosing services. You should mold what services you provide to fit that budget.

      It comes down to understanding what their revenue is like, how many locations they have, whether their product is high dollar or not- basically, an analysis of how much money they make.
      This is all information you should be collecting in the first meeting with them.
