- Our new build series is here! Our 1968 Chevy C10 project is all about making “I’m going to restore that someday!” come true. In episode 1, Tim Matthews, Joe McCollough and Zach Raddatz took a winter road trip to snowy South Dakota to find out what we’ll be working with. Jeff Matthews, Tim's dad and the owner of the truck, gives us a brief history of the pickup he’s had parked on his property for years. We evaluate what can stay, what needs to go and find the potential in the old C10 body.
WOW!!! WAHT A TOTAL TRANSFORMATION!!!! SHE CAME OUT SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I can't pull into a gas station in Omaha, without gathering a small crowd. The stories start coming about; "I learned to drive in a pickup just like this", "My uncle owned one and I sat on his lap in an hay field as he let me steer", " My grandfather owned a light blue one and showed me how to drive a stick shift" and on! Wow, the memories come flooding back as these trucks where on the farm, rural America, hitches pulling equipment to the field or back to the barn yard for repair. By 1973 in Nebraska alone there was 173,000 registered Chevy C10's and surrounded by Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas, farming was the main family occupation of many who many had day jobs just to keep an income. Funny & haunting but these trucks are part of American life in the heartland for those who don't live here. But it truly is the land, a way of life, the weather according to the "Farmer Almanac" and a Chevy truck in the barn or machine shed.

Okay, lets go! I suppose now I have to get going on my 69 C10.
It's a sign. Let the project begin!
looking forward to this video series! I have two 68's. One about done . One ready for a build! It will be interesting to see what you do with this one!😊👍
We've got some exciting plans for this one!
No matter how ratty it is you're at least starting with a popular truck with huge aftermarket support. Load up the money cannon and start shooting.
Our goal with this build series is to provide a "barn find" type of project with a vehicle that may be more commonly available and a budget in mind. We hope this series will help others kickstart their projects!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW PROJECT TRUCK!!!!
Thanks John!
I’ll be watching this one closely, my cousin has a last chance C10 that’s borderline doner vehicle. Can it be saved?
It can always be saved as long as you have the dedication 😉
Tim - What happened to your traditional hot rod build from a while back?
I still have it and enjoy it every single day! As a matter of fact, I have a couple of other traditional hot rods in the works, including a 34 coupe I am excited about. - Tim
@@speedwaymotors I think the Speedway following would like periodic updates on your projects. Please consider adding them to the mix.
What happened to "1968 C10 Build Episode 2" please??
