- Some carnage required! C10 chassis teardown, prep and installs
New! Tech Talk links. Hit "SHOW MORE" for links below or tap them in-video.
Before the G-Comp Rear Suspension, Ford 9" Housing for GM Trucks, C-Notch kit and Disc Brake Conversion kits can go on, the chassis needs a complete teardown and prep. After we cut all the tabs and extras off, the chassis gets a coat of primer. Then, we cut our C-notches and remove the beat up cross member. A coat of hardened urethane paint keeps the budget down before it's finally time for the big stuff. The rear suspension is reassembled, the G-Comp rear suspension goes in, then the Ford 9" rear housing, third member, rear axles and disc brakes. Finally, the G-Comp rear suspension goes in and you can start to imagine what the final product will look like.

I LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH MY C10 FAMILY!!!! I ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING NEW!!!
Brings back memories of rivet busting on my frame when I finally got everything off of it...the amount of work I had to do just to get it fully stripped down to the point that nothing else had to be removed & the actual building could begin was surprising...but once you get to that point, that's when the adventure & transformation starts happening...very exciting part of a build...🖖🏿😎👍🏿
I NEED TO BUY AN AIR HAMMER!!!! THAT IS A TOTALLY AWSOME AIR TOOL!!!!
Pretty funny watching newbies!!!!
GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT UPGRADES!!! SOMETHING TO CONSIDER!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! A TOTALLY AWSOME BUILD!!!
I've had my 68 C10 for about 35 years. Watching you guys working I remember the time I threw A driveshaft & where it went threw hole where the old carrier bearing was the driveshaft broke in half & turned the transmission upside down braking the bell housing! Man what a bang It made. I was still able to coast down the hill turn in to my driveway.
Awesome Series ... I am building the same 68 SWB C10 and a 1938 Dodge Ratrod pickup. All parts are from Speedway!...
I NEED TO RENEW MY C10 BUILDER MAGAZINE, AS SOON AS TIME AND MONEY ALLOW.
Great JOB, can't wait to start on my project also. great video!
Good luck with your project! We'd love to see it!
@@speedwaymotors which one of your axle kits did you use for this set up? Thanks

Love the channel but it's pretty annoying that the C10 playlist isn't in order. This would allow your followers to just click play all instead of trying to find and play the next episode to follow along.
Man use that damn impact!!!
Looking good I'm digging the build !! Why do you need the pinion angle shims on diff if you have the adjustment on the trailing arms brackets ? Also where did that panhard bar attach diff or trailing bar ?
You guys were killing me when you were removing them old bolts by hand and NOT using a impact gun. I guess I'm just too old and too weak to be doing that. LOL
Is that a Harbor Freight Quinn socket that I see at 3:58 ?
Nice job, and thanks for the tip on taking pics before stripping down the frame.
Why didnt you all do that b4 you sand blast it
Can you just buy the two trailing arms??
Looks like grade 5 hardware? Unless im mistaken. Why not go grade 8 for the extra insurance?
I want to rebuild the rear suspension but I want to keep my stock brake drums how can I do it
Would an air impact helped? lol
