Great video. You have to breakaway from negative things. I've been in situations where a former bandmate while I was active in the band was tearing me up behind my back I found out. left that situation ASAP. Get with people who are on the same page and not jealous. Anyway, good stuff man.
As a Huge Bathory Fan I Really dig your music Quorthon played all instruments Drums were his main and on the first album he had only played guitar for 2 years and he progressed I myself am not a fan of Drum Machines and Will only record with a real Drummer! Maybe I should learn Drums! But keep doing what your doing Sounds Great! 🤘🤘🤘
I am of course biased towards drums. But I see some bands do it well. But of course once I find or or suspect it my enjoyment lessens. And in black metal the sloppiness adds. Unless you are Dimmu or Dark Funeral. But even those bands as great as they are, the danger of the music sliding off the rails is non existent so the excitement is sucked out of the recording for me.
@WARHAMMER66AUSBM Also it is Hard to find Musicians on the Same page to go with your Visions after I left my Death Metal Band Sanguinary to form a Black Metal Band it just all Backfired and they destroyed my Song so I gave up on that my biggest weakness is writing lyrics!
your one talented dude warhammer666 for just picking up the guitar and doing this all yourself recording vocals lyrics drums bass etc and your a good song writer and thats more than half the battle, and one man band black metal isnt bad or death metal fuck that stigma!!! there are alot of good bands out there Putrid Pile Gravelust,Burzum,Leviathan,Ka'ai,Ghoulish Grin,Suicidal Grind i named a few of our own in the youtube community but there is some great stuff out there!!! a Warhammer666 to me has that early 90s norwegian sound but with an australian black metal execution bestal warlust sadistik execution thats just my take on warhammer666,its fucking great!!!
Dave, Warhammer666 you and me would definitely have 1 hell of a good time on a drunken jam hang out session Hailz tobdave and hailz to lee , hope both you mothers have a good holiday.... \m/
Great video bro and I've been recording by myself since 2020. It's definitely much easier to record nowadays then t was years ago. To form a full band nowadays can be difficult especially when it comes to reliability and dedication to a full band project.
I totally know what you mean about keeping things even if they are shit to your ears. I have been floored with the amount of times I show people my "shit music" folder and they think it should be developed further. On the flip-side they think I am weird when I finish an album I start even if it sucks because I want to do some of my own "research" in a way to see if I can understand what I find so bad about it as to avoid doing the same thing with my own music or anyone I help make / produce music.
@@TonehengeProductions what ive learnt is once you “complete” a project, it’s only listened to on another sound system for production value. I know I can’t fix everything but I want to hear that I’ve achieved a cohesive mix. After that it goes into a folder. So I can’t look at the songs a double guess myself. Cause like any song, if you wrote Let It Be for The Beatles by the following week of constant scrutinizing you would hate it.
Really cool video mate. I alwsys think ill start a project at home which is focused in the black metal realm. Can be a right pain in the dick being in a band and having to negotiate and debate your ideas or opinions. Been doing it 15 years nearly in 1 band and especially when recording is when the arguments start haha. Love your work 🤘🏻🍻🤘🏻
You’re a natural musician man. Those drums are fuckin great and your guitar playing after such a short time is phenomenal. If ya hadn’t told me I’d have never guessed you’d only been playing guitar for a couple years. The songs you’ve created have a signature sound and I really dig the variance between the songs. Keep on letting your music creatively evolve my brother 🤘🏼🍻🤘🏼🍻🤘🏼🍻🤘🏼🍻
If you're a musician and having any doubts about striking out on your own; do not feel afraid to do so. After playing in bands for years that were frustrating and never went anywhere, in 2023 I took to learning how to record everything myself. Now, In 2024, as my main project Grunleggender, I released an hour long EP, and a polished, self produced debut full length debut album. I also recorded 3 EP's under various side projects and another full length prog/dungeon synth album. Right now I'm simultaneously recording a folk album and the second Grunleggender album, with plans to put together a live band next year. I've achieved more on my own in a year than I ever did with other people holding me back. You must take control.
Boom. This guy. And also you can record everything you do and experiment for 12 months and just see what happens. It could be 95% garbage. But 5% gold. After a while you sharpen your craft and eventually it becomes 50/50. After a few trial and errors you learn what works, where you feel comfortable… but more importantly you will grow as a musician, artist etc. it’s a rewarding experience.
I think you are absolutely awesome! You have that old style of black metal.not the new computer sounding BM. The razor blade and darkended sound you have is by far how i feel Bm should sound🤘🤘I should be receiving my preorder soon
Pretty much doing this right now. Its tough doing things solo but sometimes you get more done and can get your vision realized fully when you do it solo even though it can take longer to put out music.
If you had never said your guitar playing was a pretty recent thing, I would never have guessed because the stuff of yours I have is fantastic. It was interesting to hear what you consider to be your shortfalls. As someone who has no musical ability apart from a pair of ears, I can only applaud your output so far and say honestly that I'm looking forward to hearing what else you put out, even if it is a bastard trying to get it over here in the UK 😂
Good video
Thanks skye

100%. Sometimes though the handbrakes are people who can guilt you into submission or anchor you without you realizing.

Pretty much doing this right now. Its tough doing things solo but sometimes you get more done and can get your vision realized fully when you do it solo even though it can take longer to put out music.
But it will be purely your vision. It will not be tampered with, that’s part I find the most satisfying as an artist.

Only this is the only solution for real artist❤
It’s a solution. But all have there challenges. But I prefer this solution for my own sanity lol.

It fooled me. I would have thought you had played guitar much longer. It's takes allot of talent to be a one man project. Warhammer666 is great.
A lot of bleeding fingers and frustration to get to where I am. lol.
I would rather have a one person band than have shitty band members.
lol. Me too.
