I’d love to have euro distribution. So by all means lead the way.
The red light really brings out your sinister side... haha. Some great advise mate, small channel building is all based on community and pushing yourself out their to mingle with the crowd as it were. Yeah most def is smoke and mirrors the whole genre is partly based on 'lore' which makes it different than other genres. If you don't got a lore then you're just run of the mill.
The lore is enough to peak interest. But to maintain stories and ethos that are built around part truths is a lot of work. lol.
Tape trading then reading about it in magazines. I must have sent out about a thousand of my bands demos.

UA-cam was my first social media and the only one that matters last place you can be on some real shit
@@KioMetalFan nice man. I admit I find a lot of cool stuff on this old platform
Some bands just network and asskiss their way to the top just like a libdork office worker would to get the nice cushy window office. Yeah it's black metal but keep in mind it's still metal.. still rock n roll the shammy music industry is still alive in people's psyche. But at least if you're music is good shit it'll hold it's own to a certain extent. You can't ignore networking cause you'll just be in a vacuum/echo chamber but reality is black metal isn't what it was back in the 90s. It's watered down and plenty of posers/dudes who are normies but do it to bang barely legal goth chicks are in the scene now. But yeah man don't asskiss. Network man to man but don't do what these cucks do and lick asshole. Make good music. Release. Work on an original sick aesthetic. Stay real. Innovate and use the Internet but don't become a caricature of modern internet click bait culture.. there's always gonna be haters that think you're doing it wrong tell em to fuck off if you know you're doing what works for you... Alota assholes in this music but be the standup asshole if you can. What'll stand the test of time.
Yeah playing black metal is a bitch why a good amount of it sound raw cuz it isnt some easy autotune trap rap moaning by a longshot. Even vocals which are the easiest part are difficult cause you have to sound good. Takes years to be able to play clean enough to record anything listenable tbh One man is the way to go if you care about the art/writing/music. Try making a local band and see how much of a nightmare it is. Youll come back and thank yourself for having a one man project. Stick with one man if yoyre just trying to record/release and if it catches on hire a few session dudes. Like a session drummer and find a bass player..do guitar/vox yourself. Best way to do it dont get stuck in local band hell trap unless youre young and just wanna party a bit and play some shit level music in a backtard/divebar
@@KioMetalFan works for countless very successful projects
You cant deny promotion/networking is half the game but you cant get anywhere if your music isnt up to par. Just know that theres plenty of dudes who brownnose and asskiss their way to get on stage witha big band but everyone forgets about em cuz the set was mediocre or actually sucked. Same thing online. Focus on the music and everything else falls into place.
@@KioMetalFan that’s an every genre and every facet of life problem. But they are also easy to spot.
I try to take advantage of imposter syndrome these days. For example, I had a project called Darkthronk and logo was styled like Darkthrone. I got thousands of bandcamp plays before anyone really caught on. Then I did a war metal thing called Bestial Whorelust, same deal - just did an AI variation of the Bestial W. logo - released it as a “previously unreleased rehearsal demo!” and got like 8k views before I was asked to remove it. It’s a dirty world these days and you must play dirty. So pick an imposter name for the first few months, and then change it to something legit after you dupe a small fanbase.
@@EXoL666-m4p lol. Ok. So I don’t condone those actions lol. But it does make you wonder how much people take notice. If you got that much traction do you think you could have gotten half of that or even a quarter of that based on releasing it under an original artist name?
@@WARHAMMER66AUSBM No, I would have received very little, a quarter at best. There's so much music released each week these days that it's no longer considered unique or interesting to be a musician releasing music; everybody does it that has the desire to do it and the baseline quality is much higher than a couple decades ago... even though much of it is not special or memorable. I've contacted a couple larger youtube underground music channels and online zines for collaboration recently, and they responded to me with a list of their prices! Not very underground... So that's why I say it's okay to play dirty in a dirty world. But I do appreciate and respect your higher path and you are doing well.
@@EXoL666-m4p I’m not judging your choice. I guess my question is that if you can produce music that could pass as aforementioned acts then your caliber of musicianship and / or craftsmanship must be of a high standard
@@EXoL666-m4p lol. Now I’m interested in hearing DarkThronk.

@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal me too. All have their own charm and attitude.
Seems like a lot of the amateur metal scene social media is begging for listens and likes but rarely reciprocated, for me any sort of feedback -even a roasting is all good. Ultimately diy solo projects we do for ourselves, not others. Relying on other's endorsement misses the whole point.
@@CROSSofIRON-uk artistically of course. But as they say no one is an island. If there wasn’t magazines and zines back in the day how would you have found half the bands we listen to today? These channels in my opinion have replaced that media. So not so much for likes, but to feed the beast that is the underground I think they are necessary.
One Man Black Metal may have a stigma, but somehow a lot of It Is the best Black Metal out there, In comparison to Big Label Bands.
@@necro.daemoness666 without a doubt. The single mindedness works extremely well inside of this genre.
