It gives the feeling of vibrations only- engine running, ground movement, turbulence, undercarriage movement, afterburner (that's a good one) there are more but if you want sensations of lift off or banking then you are talking of motion platforms and vr fightsim guy has covered the dof platform very well.
Thank you for the always excellent tutorials. One question - will installing the legacy version of simconnect conflict with the MS2020 version of simconnect?
No it will not affect it in any way. Tested. 👍 each program called for a specific version of simconnect so you can have multiple versions installed at the same time.
since yesterday my simshaker stopped working on its own the error message says : unhandled exception has occurred in your application in sim shaker starter ? anyone else experience the same
Great video Mark. Do you install the legacy Simconnect even though we have a later version. Also will Simshaker run the seat and buttkicker simultaneously? Thanks for this great video. I have the seat and had problems getting it to work on a second flight.
Yes you need the legacy simconnect too. It doesn’t interfere with other programs using simconnect as they are not calling for that version. Yes I believe it can, but you would need the sound module I think. Not sure, check their website.
So is Simshakers just a better more sensitive interface over the HF8? They work together? I’ve just installed both programs but I cannot open Simshakers. I click on it and it doesn’t open, but it’s running in task manager. Reinstall twice with same result.
It’s all installed 👍 But how do I know it’s actually working, hard to tell over HF8’s settings? Do we also first open and adjust the configuration in HF8 (as you have shown) then open Simshakers with it configured (as you have shown), running both? Thx!

@@williamcandelaria947 Simshakers has not been updated, and no indication it will be unfortunately. The HF8 software has been updated and is much more stable now. Tobii can remain connected. When not using it I just switch it off in the software.
NLR software and Simshaker Aviators are completely different. The NLR program allows me to set which motors react to an event whereas Simshaker just vibrates ALL the motors. I much prefer the NLR program - it was easy to install and only took a couple of minutes to get it working.
When it does stop, all you have to do is get the window that shows the haptic seat, and it will show another message window - click the button on that window, and it will start working again.
One problem I am having with this, otherwise excellent, software is that it will randomly stop, will keep vibrating after engine shutdown and will randomly crash or stop in the middle of a flight.
I like the pad better then the buttkicker. The Butkicker does a better job with feeling the ground but the pad is better in all other things. I still think the software from them or simshaker has a ways to go. I find the pad very uncomfortable.
The problem ist that your seating position gets higher and higher… I am at a point where my knees hit the table top when I put my feet on the rudder pedals. Now I‘m thinking about raising my desk by 5cm. Never ending story…

I followed the instructions but it did not work for me. I have a message stating that the force feel state is not connected. I don't know how to move from there. Does anyone ran into this problem and found a solution? I will appreciate any advice
Just ordered mine as I was under the impression it would work with audio feedback via MSFS2020, but when you set up the SimShaker profile, I only see prop engine. Will this not work with airliners such as the FBW and Fenix A320?
You should have more than just engine. Try reinstall?
Can i ask you... the throttle is not a standard SAITEK handle. Where did you get that? I have been looking for something like that.
Honeycomb Bravo TQ.
Were you able to test HF8 with turbine aircraft? If so, which software would you recommend jets? Thank you for this video!
You use the prop profile, edit and build your own profile for jets & airliners
@@SimHangerFS Great, many thanks.
@@SimHangerFS Not really feeling the engine rumble at 40 with the Kodiak. Not sure if that is normal for that aircraft since I never have flown in one in real life. Should I increase this?
Mark, thanks for this video, however, I wasn’t able to run simshaker. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both apps twice, to no avail. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
You sound South African (or Zimbabwean) bru!
By the way, I play IL2 Great Battles. Is there any difference between the SimShaker Wings and Aviators download? Will they work the same with the HF8?
@@lpcoolee Zimbabwe 😀 . Yes they work, but the simconnect is prone to disconnect. The HF8 software has been updated and is now very stable. I now prefer it.
@@SimHangerFS Zimbabwean! Me too. I’m a Bulawayo boy, but lived in Harare many years ago (80’s and 90’s).
Thanks for the reply! I just tested out the SimShaker Wings (I’m not sure if I need to buy the ForceFeel Realteus option too though). Still, wow! It completely ramps up the immersion! I can feel guns, wheels skidding when I land and take off… it’s so good!
Thank you for making this video! I’ll support a fellow brother from Zim. Btw, I was a Saint Georges boy from 87 (form 1).
Do they have any plan to add support for DCS World?
I wonder if this can be added to a FOD H6?
Does it actually make you feel climbs and descends? If not, are there any chairs in the markets that go up and down to immerse that feeling?
It gives the feeling of vibrations only- engine running, ground movement, turbulence, undercarriage movement, afterburner (that's a good one) there are more but if you want sensations of lift off or banking then you are talking of motion platforms and vr fightsim guy has covered the dof platform very well.
Using the same in SimShaker for Aviators - Selecting Simulation- SimConnect, Everything turns gray in effect Settings- Model- Generic Helicopter-
I have the same problen now. How did you fix this?
Thank you for the always excellent tutorials. One question - will installing the legacy version of simconnect conflict with the MS2020 version of simconnect?
No it will not affect it in any way. Tested. 👍 each program called for a specific version of simconnect so you can have multiple versions installed at the same time.
@@SimHangerFS Thankyou!!
4:08 . Nice 1
Thank You!
since yesterday my simshaker stopped working on its own the error message says : unhandled exception has occurred in your application in sim shaker starter ? anyone else experience the same
No, not had that. Try reinstall legacy simconnect.
@@SimHangerFS yes I have the sound module. It’s running the Buttkicker on a dedicated USB sound card.
So is Simshakers just a better more sensitive interface over the HF8? They work together?
I’ve just installed both programs but I cannot open Simshakers. I click on it and it doesn’t open, but it’s running in task manager. Reinstall twice with same result.
Right click on icon in hidden taskbar
@@SimHangerFS Yes, found it, excellent! I reviewed your video, thanks! 👍
It’s all installed 👍 But how do I know it’s actually working, hard to tell over HF8’s settings? Do we also first open and adjust the configuration in HF8 (as you have shown) then open Simshakers with it configured (as you have shown), running both? Thx!
What indication does the pad give you if you fly uncoordinated/slip the plane, if any?
It doesn’t
Alright, thanks
Hi Mark do you have to remove the original software for this pad or do you just install sim shaker for aviators
Just install the sim shakers software. Note there is a bug in it. Simconnect (legacy) seems to periodically disconnect. Not sure why.
Hi Mark just wondering if the bug in simshakers has been corrected ? and as per your recommendation I got the Tobii eye tracker , now do I just leave it plugged in all the time or should I disconnect when not in use Thanks Mark @@SimHangerFS
I much prefer the NLR program - it was easy to install and only took a couple of minutes to get it working.
is it working on airliners? 737 (pmdg) or just for vanilla aircraft in msfs?
Works on airliners, but effect is very much subdued.
Does this work with modded aircraft in MS? SSA is pretty rubbish unless it’s default aircraft.
Tried it with the C310R …worked great.
Only prob with the HF8 is that SimShakers stops working after 10 to 20 mins quite often or after certain actions.
My HF8 used to work like a chamr in Win10 ; updated to Win11 and it stopped working with simshaker for aviators...anybody have the same experience?
You may need to reinstall
thanks !!!
Thanks
Thanks for supporting the channel 👍
Sooooo, does the HF8 have a ... weight limit ?
150kg
@@SimHangerFS Thank you !
I like the pad better then the buttkicker. The Butkicker does a better job with feeling the ground but the pad is better in all other things. I still think the software from them or simshaker has a ways to go. I find the pad very uncomfortable.
I added a layer of foam pads. I can still feel everything but the HF8 feels better.
The problem ist that your seating position gets higher and higher… I am at a point where my knees hit the table top when I put my feet on the rudder pedals. Now I‘m thinking about raising my desk by 5cm. Never ending story…
Isn't it possible to use the buttkicker and HF8 together with SSA? Cheers
Yes, but you need to purchase the separate sound module for bass shakers. 30 bucks and worth it.
Are these available in the U.K.?
Yes I got mine from Amazon UK.
Overclockers currently have it in stock for £229
@@chrisibbotson6367 Just ordered. Many thanks.
Just ignore the passenger screams!
I‘m running HF8 and butkicker simultaniously, and that works really well for me!
After a week of use…HF8 works flawlessly, but SSA keeps dropping-out everytime after only a few minutes.
Try reinstall simconnect.
@@SimHangerFS Thanks! I tried to reinstall Simconnect FSX but it will not allow as it’s already installed. Can’t find the path to uninstall it first lol!
@@kennykanada go to control panel …programs & features…select it and uninstall.
@@SimHangerFS Ok, that worked and I reinstalled Simconnect. But the same thing happens, after about 5-10 minutes it just stops working. So I start HF8 and that works fine. I can sometimes feel SSA turning on and off over HF8, even though I shut it off lol! Frustrating.
@@kennykanada weird, not sure why?
Application crashes every 5 minutes, bunk software as well.
The manufacturers software is plain a waste of time. Eg if you crash the plane and need to restart the flight for any reason the whole cumbersome process has to be gone thru again . Just use simshaker for aviators
Really? That’s a disaster. Has it been reported?
+1
HI
The HF8 is significantly overpriced it seems, I'll wait until it's below $150.
I'm curious what your comparing this product to as far as price goes? I don't see any product which has Haptic feedback anywhere near this price. I just purchased it for my B-Day for $180.00. I would agree, it's not cheap. So Keep an eye on Amazon and elsewhere in a month for Black Friday deals as this will likely be closer to your 150 price point. I've tested this today with DCS and very impressed with it. And I have a bad back and the force feedback it provides has an added benefit of having a massage while gaming lol. So much so I'm hunting dog fights... lol.
Xbox usage is not worth it….. laughable to be honest
