Very glad you are revisiting the product with so many videos unlike most people who do one and done and minimal follow up for a complete experience on ownership
These settings work amazing for AC as well.Up until I found these I was on the verge on sending it back( felt more like a back massager ) once I tuned it in ,wow !!!! Day and night
Hi Shaun! Great follow-up review with extra high marks for your integrity doing so. Your findings match my experience. I started with some minor issues getting the software to work. Then a vague dissatisfaction once I had it going. I reached out to NLR support and tried sim-hub far a few days with time between email exchanges. With great guidance from NLR support I switched back to NLR Software and have it tuned to my liking. NLR support team has been very helpful. I've been running on the latest software for a few weeks now and am loving it. I'm 100% HF8. Driving in ACC, AC, iRacing, & AMS2. The Buttkicker is off the rig. 🙂
Phew, thankyou Shaun, ordered this yesterday, thought I'd made a mistake as other reviewers did bare minimum cover of it. Trust you to cover it totally. I'm reassured now :)
I really appreciate that you keep us up to date when new information comes in. It's one of the reasons I enjoy this community and how I keep learning (and getting faster.) Thanks team.
Rpm on dirt is the way to go. We depend on sound to know when we’re getting wheel spin. The vibrating sensation that I would get with the Buttkicker I no longer use, to go with the sound was a great help to my senses. An 850 hp late model will spin the tires on the straights very easily. I’m one of those guys, when in the heat of battle, will lose my focus, and start mashing the gas too much. I’m hoping this will add feel to those senses.
Hi Shaun. I purchased the hf8. I'm reading that many users are skipping the nlr software altogether and using Simhub with no latency and more refined tuning. Would love a 4th video, but not holding you to it, but you yourself might get a better experience as well. Just my 2.
If it's that hard to get it right to the point of needing a third video about it, I'm really thankful for the videos. It helps to see beyond the hype. Thanks Shaun.
All well and good that they close to perfected iRacing, but the biggest grievance should be the paltry manufacturer support for many Sims. Given that they seem to be rebranding a product that was released years ago, and is fully supported by Simhub, they whiffed coming to market this soon. I only use the NLR software for virtual audio card.
Do you know of anywhere that has a repository of profile setups for different racing sims for the Hf8? I suppose we could just use the iRacing setup but it would sure speed things along to have starter setups we could copy or better yet import to use as a starting point for each sim...
@thesimpit would you reccomend this over the buttkicker gamer 2.0? I have the option to get either one just not sure which direction to go. Will be used with the playseat evo.
I ordered mine yesterday. However being an Xbox user, I’m starting to doubt if this will be anything more than a massage pad. I’ll give it a try but I foresee it being returned.
Hey bro I want to try it out for the ps5. Did it work like how Shaun said with settings or does it not have any way to set it up like a pc? In other words for us console guys is it worth it and does it add to the immersion? Or does it just massage you evenly throughout the pad
Hi, I tried everything for the Buttkicker to work with Dirt Rally 2 and simhub V:8.2.0 but nothing to do there is no vibration once in the game. But works fine with all other simulations. Rfactor2 assetto corsa motorist 2 etc Do you have an idea why? thanks in advance
They should just add a preset with their recommendation for each game to really make it feel more plug and play and then you can tinker from there if you would like.
Hi I just got mine. Sadly I hadn't realised the feature set is limited on other games, For example I play ACC and AMS2. Which doesn't have ground effects or suspension. Do you know if that will be added? As ground effects is in AC and PC2, so its not clear why it not in ACC; and AMS2 is the same engine as PC2. Finnally I cant get it even to work on ACC. Any help would be great :( Edit: Looks like the PC2 profile works with AMS2, but ground effects can be random, feels good over some curbs but other nothing
Hi Harry, thankyou for the feedback. The software will continually be updated with improvements and new games. In the meantime it’s also compatible with the simhub software
@@NextLevelRacing hi there I’m currently talking to your support team. As I cant get AC and ACC to work at all. So hoping we can resolve that. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. I have selected auto detect game. Also as I mentioned to them you can get ground effects in AMS2 if you use the PC2 or 3 profile as its built on the same engine so hopefully that will get updated in the future. But thanks for NLR’s really speedy responses to my problems. PS I can't see the HF8 listed on Simhub any tips for how to get it wokring I'm not familar with it.

I've ordered one (it arrives tomorrow) but I'm a flight simmer so the setup and experience will be different. There are surprisingly few videos about using the HF8 with MSFS though and I'm wondering why there are absolutely no recent videos made about the HF8?

Question Shaun. If you use the Sim Hub software, can you then get engine vibration that's lacking with the HF8 software?
Good job to go back and do an update. Most people wouldn’t.
Have u tried this product with sim hub software has way more settings and can dial it in better
Have you tried the U-Shake 6 from SRS? Can you compare them for us??
These are essentially motors like gamepad controller. Not transducers that give you true haptic feedback, hence the price point.

Some report the motors are slower than the transducer so they come unaligned to the sim...
Hi, what do you mean by version 3? Hardware or software version? TY!
Hi, sorry I should have been more specific. I was talking about the V3 software
