Cleaners are key workers. Nobody would go into a dirty shop or go into a filthy bank or grime covered hospital, which does happen.. Kim is absolutely correct & when you're a cleaner you don't even get a day off, especially if you're a woman with children. People would be surprised at what cleaners have to clean up or have other jobs assigned to them bit by bit, especially when the cleaner is a perfectionist. Cleaners are extremely underrated, just like bin men, the men & women who clean public toilets etc etc etc.
Every job is essential and valuable, nobody is better than the other!

Cleaning is a HARD JOB. Especially for those of us with physical limitations... a cleaner or housekeeping is essential. It is VERY VERY HARD WORK.

I know what Kim means even in offices workers take the cleaners for granted leaving dirty plates in the sink or their desks in a state. Our managers have to keep reminding them to respect the cleaners.

I'm so with Kim on this. It's the same as the way retail workers are treated. When people bang on about nurses only earning 30 odd grand a year, it's often quoted that 'they could get the same money stacking shelves in Tesco's '. I can assure you, they couldn't. For the equivalent scheduled 37.5 hours, I earn £21,450 less stoppages. I'm not comparing the 2 jobs, but I hate the sneering attitude towards shop workers. We worked all the way through Covid without closing half of our services down. Time for a bit more respect towards people in so-called low or non skilled jobs
You should always judge people on how they treat others, especially those who treat low paid service people working in jobs like cleaners, waiters and shop staff. Some really look down on those and see them as low status or talk to them horribly and it shows a nasty and bad side to their character

As I worked as a cleaner for over ten years, Kim isn't bullshitting. And it isn't hard to leave emotions and stress at the door and be polite at work, God knows I managed it enough. So I'm with her really

WHICH IT SHOULD BE.I WORKED FOR A COUPLE WHO WERE WEALTHY AND THEY WOULD SAY DONT DO THE CLEANING GO AND ENJOY TAKING THE 2 KIDS ARIDE ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE. OR GO AND HELP THE DAUGHTER WASH THE HORSE..IF THEY HAD A PARTY.SHE WOULD SHOUT TEA ,AND ON THE TABLE WAS A PLATE FULL OF THE FOOD THEY WERE HAVING AT THE PARTY...HILLARY WOULD ALWAYS BRING ME A GIFT WHEN HE WENT TROUT FISHING IN SCOTLAND. I worked as a cleaner in Germany. I was NEVER treated badly by any of the people I worked for. As a matter of fact, I was treated very well. I am very surprised at this clip. Are English employers really that miserable to their employees?
yeah, some of them are SUPER horrible, I’ve seen people who purposely smeared chalk all around the room so that my poor mother had to clean more, it’s atrocious

Why did I laugh so much at the effeminate pharmacist calling Kim Woodburn 'My Darling'. Maybe it's cos Kim was fuming at him and mentioned that when he vomits, pees, poos and and doesn't look after his toilet. For all of her working life, Kim had to do this job in order to survive whereas the pharmacist has clearly never had to work a low paying job as that, and simply brushes it aside. I tend to find that cleaners are the nicest people and should be treated with the utmost respect.
