    In my line of work ive come across many a 'Karen'. Many have that very special "I want to speak to your manager haircut"! They are usually backed up by an ever suffering husband. They do exist for sure. Its not a good way to be and there are certainly better ways to be in life. Dont be a Karen!

    I think we all need a bit of inner karen at times. We need to stick up and speak up sometimes. It's knowing when to bring her out is the trick. It's not when a child is selling lemonade without a permit. It is when you pay for an expensive meal and it comes out completely cremated and the waitress doesn't care or offer to exchange it. Sometimes karen needs to speak to the manager 😂

    I believe Joanna is right, though I rarely agree with her. Initially, the term 'Karen' for a busy-body 50-something 'entitled' white woman gained notoriety as an insult in the USA. A few years back, an older white woman harassed a black family for barbecuing on a charcoal grill in a public park in California. She called the cops on them. There were other similar instances at the time that encouraged the stereotype.

    • @claudetteh67
      @claudetteh67 11 місяців тому

      Additionally, the 'Karen meme' inspired the CAREN Act (2020) - the Caution Against Racially Exploitative Non-Emergencies Act, tabled by San Francisco politician Shamann Walton. So Joanna's understanding of the origin of 'Karen' is not without evidence.
