@@abazely2743 Not for ordinary people. The tax burden is among the highest in the world. Whereas, the very wealthy find loop holes out of paying very low tax or none at all. Often through non-dom status which is the case for Mrs Sunak - a billionairess. Who dodges around £20m a year in taxes by keeping in her Indian citizenship and being domicile there to pay tax. I wouldn't care so much, if her husband wasn't adamant in hiking taxes and cutting services for ordinary people. Thats what makes it more repulsive.

I agree with Kim. The young and the youth these days have not got a single clue. Mollycoddled and wrapped in cotton wool by mum and dad. Most modern young lads don't know how to change a lightbulb let alone a carburettor of a car. Most young females do not know how to cook or do washing and have never held a lion in their hands in their lives. Most young females nowadays would not know what sewing machine is or how to sew a button on a shirt either. These 21st century females are good at rolling a joint. Getting pregnant and going around shouting their mouths off all the time. Most of the young nowadays would know their mouth from their backside. Yes we need the young to be forced to go back into the workplace learning practical skills adult leave these Lefty brainwashing universities that only brainwash and offer soft skills. We need more females going into stem instead of gender studies classes. Stem is science technology engineering and Maths. We could get more the young working in our NHS as well. Our NHS is crying out for new staff. So we should be mandating and making it compulsory for these young to do a stint in the NHS. Oh yes while we're at it I think we should bring back conscription aka national service for these Young. They should do a compulsory 5 years spent in the following disciplines:
Army.
Navy.
Royal Air Force.
Police service.
Fire service.
Prison service.
NHS.
Lifeguard and Coast Guard..
Border Force.
STEM.
Finally made to clear the streets up of rubbish with twigs and leaves and build parks.

I am so glad you agree with me. I also believe in the death penalty for paedophiles. Rapists. Terrorists and murderers. I also believe in bringing back the cane or corporal punishment into our school system for these bratty kids. Bratty kids need to learn some manners and bit of respect for elders. I also believe in some kind of punishment for poor Manners and unreliability in people. I think bad manners should be severely dealt with by Society and be seriously frowned upon. I think people should be forced to reply to messages in a professional capacity if they don't they should either get fined or a year in prison. We need to bring back correct disciplinary Society. I am very sorry to say that British people nowadays have become bone idle and productively and creatively lazy in my opinion. Also British people have become self-serving by the refusal to teach people vital skills or help out anybody in the community. It has become way too much of people being up their own backsides in Britain nowadays and I'm alright Jack bugger you. You get people bumping into people nowadays and not even apologising for that either. We are become seriously disconnected and out of touch.
Again I'm glad you agree with me. This makes the change for having somebody agree with something I'm saying. We need be a lot stricter on people that are breaking the rules. We need real discipline being reintroduced into our Society in Britain.

It’s not just the aging population it’s the immigrant population who come here unskilled and don’t earn enough to pay enough into the pot. As for the French they have huge state pensions. My French boyfriend says our pension is pathetic and the French wouldn’t have it. Also just because you live longer why should you have to work until you drop and invariably as you come to the last years of your life have poorer health.
Being forced to work into late sixties affects your health. Also, employees don't want older employees.
With 3,000 excess deaths per month, which the govt can't explain, perhaps all things will equal out in the end.

Yeah, I'm a 50 something who retired in 2021. I'll go back to work when they get the likes of Mrs Sunak and the bloke who owns the DM pay their taxes.
Maybe bring back training for youngsters and give them better support and they might become plumbers.

My mum has just been diagnosed with degenerative bone disease in her thumb & wrist, so she can’t do the physical job she was doing and she’s not even 60. My dad has arthritis in his neck along with diabetes & lots of other problems so he can’t work as an electrician. I’ve got a bad back from lifting animals in a veterinary practice, lots of relatively young ppl I know have painful health problems which over time will get worse, so yes they can work now but come to being over 60 I can imagine they will really be suffering. Not everyone sits at a desk all day & many people aren’t capable of that kind of job either.
When I claimed my pension eleven years ago,I was told that people had to pay into the system for 45 years up to about
that time then it was reduced to 30 years.That must cost billions.
Hopefully clean this country up

The construction industry will struggle when our generation of 40 + retire , yes there are exceptions but the majority of kids coming into it are more interested in their phones and are generally lazy and not bothered in learning and to think these are the ones who have to teach the next kids

Here is my shillings worth,after working for 40 years in any job and looking forward to retire at 60,it should be optional and those who want to carry on,can be 3 days a week after 60 and 2 days a week after 65.It is an adjustment to retire at 60 and for some people who want to carry on,the adjustment will be phased.

the retirement age should be raised to 68 or even 70. that would not mean people have to continue working to that age, nor that people cannotcontinue working if they want and retire later. It affects only the age at which the state pension can be claimed. The rate of the pension is the same, so long as NI contributions have been made for 30 years.
the UK could also improve its private saving for retirement with suprannuation investment schemes, which would give people a lot more flexibility to decide for themselves when they retire.

So construction workers or anyone with a physical job should continue working and pay more into the pot to help support a failing system and have a few years if they're lucky of retirement. You need a head wobble!
