Other bit of advice, level 5 toons and max the iron wolves progress on each, you get a resplendent spark for each character so you got at least one and possibly 2 or 3 uber uniques depending on how many toons you want to make and level. Just focus on helltide progress and then go bqck to your main and make those ubers for your main guy.
Or get lucky and in your 5th Duriel kill you drop a Tyraels night on your Necro and it is literally the only usable Uber you can wear and it’s amazing haha…
Powerleveling alts guide: Make character on WT2, go helltide event, get level 10 to pop an elixir. Get some yellow gear and temper it all for crazy damage early with the legendary tempers. Once you can use Holy Bolt elixir, perma have it on Don't bother with aspects, only on amulet if it enables your build. Spam helltide event to level 34, then destroy capstone. Go WT3 Helltide event, get some sacreds and spam nightmare dungeons keeping mobs 10 lvl higher for max xp. Then at 54 do capstone, go WT4 helltide event for ancestrals and spam NMDs till you get to about 75 with proper gear and some glyphs. Leveled a barb to 75 in about 5 hours this way
better yet, do what i did for a buddy, or if you have a friend that can help, run a new character through capstone on tier 2 immediately, do the same on tier 3 so you can run tier 4 nightmare dungeons. took an hour to get my buddy from 1-60, and an additional hour to get his gear from helltide boss spamming. within 2 hours he was level 65 with pretty good gear and able to take care of himself.
@@gamerreviews71 isn't there level requirements for the capstones I can't seem to find what they are in season 4 Cause I wanna know at what minimum level can someone get into torment for the maximum xp, so I can boost my friend
even better, just buy the legendary gear boxes from the occultist you can wear it at level 1, temper it and you can do the WT3 cap stone dungeon while level 1... did it with sorc and it was easy, also RAXX have a guide on it, he finished cap stone dungeon on level 1 too.
@@LexxMachinima there isn't a level requirement t go in, there is a recommendation level, but if you have someone to carry you they can take you through both capstones at level 1.
How I crafted My Harlequins Crest: I farmed helltide boss with my heartseeker rogue nonstop to level iron wolves to max as fast as possible. No mana required, just attack speed and spam. And you get all your aspects like that superfast. On a good helltide when there were 4 other players around, I would be able to open 21 chests in 1 helltide. I went back and forth between the 2 zones so they could reset. The helltide boss was giving me around 150 iron wolves honor per kill (cant remember the exact number, but i think it was even more). I even got a sacred bow before the first capstone boss, so it made it a piece of cake. Didn't even know you can drop sacreds before wt3, but you will get it from the iron wolves caches. I stayed at WT2! That's important because killing it was way faster, and you could open mystery chests all the way even at character level 90 which would give you another 120 iron wolve xp, alone the monster kills around the helltide boss would give me 7k iron wolve xp! But chests in WT3 cost more and give you less honor (blizzard lul). Once my iron wolves were max, I swapped to WT3 and kept doing this for regular xp. No min maxed gear required, It sounds weird that a basic attack build was able to kille the helltide boss that efficient, but it is. That's several levels at the start. The reward for leveling up the iron wolves is a resplendent spark, which if you have 4 you can use to craft an UBER UNIQUE. And yes, you can repeat that process with each new character and still get the rewards. I hope they don't fix it after people catch on. One thing to note is that I played Sorc and Necro prior, and I had most of the needed aspects already in my codex (but most ppl will have them as its mostly attack speed and basic attack power 1 super important aspect is acursed touch which will make the boss vulnerable), the other ones I got super quick from the helltide boss which always dropped legendaries.
If you do the summoning event with the blood maiden and the hearts and get a community gathered and everyone starts contributing you can easily get every single chest in every single helltide every single time
I was in an instance the other day with 3 or 4 other randos all pitching in and we grinded the blood maiden over and over for about 40 minutes total in one helltide. i had to make 3 town runs to breakdown/stash just the legendaries and uniques 😅
Based on my understanding Iron Wolves rewards are pre-determined, so each reward is fixed to a certain power level, so no need to actually wait, better to open them when you get them as they will most likely be a power boost for your current level and allow you to level faster. For example I progressed faster through the rewards and it gave me items that I could not equip at that point in time. Also, for those who have not completed the Iron Wolves rewards yet, to power through this just take you 100 character to WT2 and do Maidens and open chests as they give you the same rep reward (200 for Maiden and 100 for each chest) as WT4, but you just plow through everything, so it's a lot faster.
My guess is people scan the timestamps and they think they know what's in it so they ditch. Then UA-cam thinks it's either click bait or people just hate it, so they don't show it more. I think when I get a stronger base of viewers over time, they'll help to carry it even if some people do that. As for now I'm still a small channel competing with some much bigger channels and every view really matters.
Can confirm this to be true for most videos. Especially like this. People will skip around to see if the tips are “useful” then click off so it dramatically effects the watch time. Time stamps are very convenient for the viewer but I agree it’s tough when you are building a subscriber base to always justify them. Definitely a video by video thing.
My hint: don't bust a gut trying to get Boss Materials. just running the helltides will give you lots of items easily. just do 2 rounds at the maiden summon point with the mindcage up and you will have enough to get a steel chest, not to mention other boss materials also drop. Also don't bother stockpiling these items for Uber summons as you will not be able to do many Uber summons, mainly due to the fact that Stygian stones are mentally rare. Just spend them on normal summons and then do normal Duriel/Andariel. Hopefully they will patch it to increase the drop of stygian stones, but right now your Uber summons are going to be very rare.
Can't believe I hadn't thought about doing the first 2 tempers on separate rolls lol. Probably the best tip to put right at the start of this video. thanks!
Been doing this since the start, always done one of each to see what needed an Improvement the moat. Is there something special about the first 2 tempers? I'm a it confused.
@@jiipo3 as was said in the video, you can repeat the the first temper (“offensive”, for example) a few times trying to get the affix that you really want only to then brick the second temper (say, “resource”) and be left with no temper re-rolls. If the first temper you roll for still benefits you then you’re better off immediately rolling the second to see what needs the re-rolls more. There’s nothing “special” about the first 2 rolls. I was just expressing how dumb I felt not doing it like this.
I'm really happy with D4 this season. We are nowhere near where the game could be, but I'm actually planning on playing more than one class this season! That means we are heading in the right direction!
@@OwnModeGaming yes! Poe is great but people like me who play more than a casual/weekend warrior, but don't play near as much as a serious gamer, d4 is hitting the perfect spot right now! A new class by Christmas is my vote!
@@omegaTEK_ I've got 2 to 100 and 3 in endgame. I'm putting together a leveling video and testing out some theories. I think I'll end up taking at least 3 to 100. It's been so much fun this season. I hope they don't do bad season 5, so far odd seasons have sucked!
I gave you ten minutes. Should be enough to satisfy the algorithm. 2nd one has been patched. Shame I wasn't playing back then. 1st tip was very handy. I had already figured it out, the hard way. Hope your channel continues to grow.
I no longer farm living steel chests. You get one for opening any other chest plus you’ll also get 925 gear if monsters are level 100. They also drop randomly from elites so I never feel like I’m out.
Can confirm as someone who started leveling a necro just today. level 86 atm and the holy bolts feels like a cheat code. clearing the screen and even off screen monsters is amazing. I'm going to miss it next season lol. It feels amazing to be a majority single target build yet be able to have aoe.
I don't think enough people realize how important it is to play how you actually enjoy the game and to find a build that works with the flow of fun for you. You can turn this game into an absolute nightmare trying to build a character that doesn't match your personal playstyle, just because its broken or OP. Its always more important to enjoy playing the game than it is to be so broken you don't want to play.
There is no reason to ever salvage legendary items, if they don't offer a new entry for the codex. You will have more legendary materials than you can spend but you will always need more gold than you can earn. Also whenever you can pick up rares on the go (meaning no extra trip back to town) and vendor them as well. That goes double for legendaries. Most legendary 2H weapons sell for 100 to 120k. That means a full inventory of high value legendaries is 2M which is around the value of a normal whisper cache. Optimize your playstyle to earn as much gold as you can at all times!
I think mine is broken…. When I do not use the mindcage, after 3 blood maidens I usually have around 300 to 400 cinders, when I use a mindcage and run 3 maidens on average I’m only getting around 150 cinders. Is anyone else experiencing this? Great guide btw I never thought about using the 2 tempers before rerolling. Very smart my dude.
imo breaking down legos after a certain point is less helpful then just vendoring for the gold (Unless its a codex upgrade). Crafting materials other then those from the Pit are so common, but gold is pretty scarce compared to the need late game.
I held ALL the iron wolves rewards until I was 90. 75% of the items were sacred, many at 620 item power. 900 was the highest item power, on I think 8 pieces of gear. The necklace she gave me as a quest reward for it was the only piece I used. Though I might have stored one or two for other characters in the future.
There are so many people doing the main event for helltides. 2-3 helltides and you’re switching all your gear. You don’t have to do anything. Solo capstones get to hell and piggyback the event.
@@OwnModeGaming Thanks mate! There used to be a bug where if you left the game and rejoined while your helltide meter was going down, it would glitch and sit at maximum the entire time. Used to get so much angels breath because of that. But I think they patched it because I can’t do it anymore. Haha
Thank you, I really appreciate it I can't make changes to the current video, but all later videos have fixed this problem. It seems to be fine for people not listening in headphone. I think it's something to do with having the bass turned up that makes it worse.
Awesome content. One thing that was capturing my attention while I was trying to focus on you was the music background going in and out. It was hard to concentrate on what you were saying. ... For what it worth
Thank you! The audio was was designed to drop out game sounds while I talk but it is way too aggressive and seems to be the worse with headphones. We have fixed it in future videos but we can't fix it on this one, sadly.
Took season 3 off cus it was so boring and bad ... But played since Pre Season (S0) , and s3 only one i didnt play. Its so refreshing to see the numbers of players up again .... I subbed to you , and gave a thumbs up. Your vids are real good for new players, and breaks shit down very well
I agree the rolling g system kinda sucks, I wasted all my rolls when it seems to get stuck rolling the same thing over and over, thanks for the tip Oh and don't get to used to Holy Bolts as they like to remove or nerf everything that's good😅😅
I’ve been selling legendaries instead of breaking them down unless they upgrade an aspect, I havent had many gold issues doing that. If you need the materials to upgrade your gear you should probably salvage but I’ve never had an issue with that
Great video, excellent information. I've spent tens of thousands of obolds rolling totems for Rapid Aspect with zero luck. It always seems to hamstring my builds every season.
Very helpful! Even the things I thought I knew... it's nice to hear that I got it right. And I always learn a couple things I didn't know about. Appreciated! Great presentation btw.
16:30 The lvl at which you open them changes nothing, if one of the chest gives you sacred gear at lvl 50, it would have given sacred gear at lvl 10 aswell. The best thing to do is to open them right away so you get them as early as possible to get a huge powerspike as soon as you can equip them. Waiting for it will just make you benefit from the items later, and getting them too late will make them useless since you'd have better already. You'll get ancestrals from some of these chests and they can be equiped from lvl 55, so waiting for longer than that is a huge waste. as soon as you get a lvl 55 ancestral weapon you can crush WT4 without a sweat so there's no reason at all to wait for lvl 70
Tempering has bad luck protection, it's not a random affix it will go back to the one you want eventually and it will do a max roll of each one eventually, use multiple pieces and keep rerolling bad tempers on others then swap back to the better piece.
I think maybe devs should try Treating NM Dungeons like Path of exile treats maps, add seasonal mechanics in NM Dungeons and new loot u cant find anywhere else in game. Like Poe has abssyal depths which can get you abyssal gems, They also have Legions and other systems in maps , could be cool to make them more fun to play
I started running my legendary +2 skeletal mages and warriors on my amulet to get them both up to +3 and that been working out pretty well, you might want to try that unless you have a golem centric based one on there.
What happens when you start masterworking and reroll tempers later on? Is the tempering going off of standart base stats then( basically reset) or is it adding the value afterwards automatically? I ask because i have a decent ring for golem build, which gave me decent to mid ranges everywhere, but ofc not high... plus still 3 temper tries left( ik crazy). Now ofc the question is, if I should risk bricking that item for improving one of the temper slots, before starting masterworking. And yeah, what happens if i decide to do so later on, for example after rank 8, like questioned before. I hope its understandable, what I mean, and would really like to hear your thoughts on that.
@blizzart9191 So, the masterworking bonus, already added to the item, stays the same for any of the affixes that include if you re-enchant one of the affixes or if you re-temper (Warning: Do not re-enchant desired greater affixes, the greater affix can be lost). I would not risk the reroll on the item until i had another replacement for that slot or a few. I would then temper on the best replacement to ensure that it has the tempers that I want. If it is going to be a while until you find a solid replacement, I would just begin masterworking, but I would do that slot last. When you do have a solid replacement on hand then I would risk the re-roll or just switch out with the new item. Hopefully that helps!
@OwnModeGaming yes man, thanks. Found it out myself with trial and error in the meanwhile and crushing 50+ pits already( started with the game this ssn) :p but your videos helped keeping me sane on the grinds... still going for glyph leveling, which is the most unfun part for me :/
@@OwnModeGaming Yeah I believe this was the same for the blood hunter and lunar boards. They are designed so you can open them right away, the item rarities/levels are set before you unlock them.
Disagree on some of these... Helltide is fine if you enjoy that more of course, but nightmare dungeons give a LOT more XP (and at least to me actually seem safer/easier). Also, I would advise you to do actually pick up yellows. Of course you're not going to wear them, but just run by the store, clickclickclick sell all the yellows, it actually adds up to quite a bit of gold. And you need all the gold you can get if you start masterworking. Might be different if you're just running helltide and it gets annoying to port to town so often, but especially with nightmares where you go to town after every dungeon anyway, just pick em up and sell. You definitely don't need that many mats from breaking down all that stuff. For the wolves chests, I'm pretty sure their item level is set, so it actually doesn't matter at all when you open them. Just open as soon as you get them. If you're too low level, just put them in the stash for a bit. If you waited too long whatever comes out just goes straight into the trash. Still a nice video though :) just my 2 cents...
Oh, and if you go level an alt... put the lucky hit 2-4k damage on all your weapons. Might not be equally good for all classes, but rogue became a god and barb at least a demigod. Stick health on the rest so you don't die. Easily carried me into WT4 for both (actually already did the capstone dungeon to go to WT3 at level 25-30 for both).
Just another thing that drips. It’s in his investors by the skill point reset scroll. They make helltide enemies 10 levels higher. But I noticed if you get knocked, you lose the mind cage affects
your luck must be better than mine or maybe bc i’m still level 70-75, but I think i’ve only gotten 2 total holy bolts pots 😭 and idk if i wanna spend my obols on the gambling or holy bolts when I’m barely getting them and still a low level in ND around 34 i think. I’ll have to double check if ND is giving me decent amount of obols at the level for it to be worth, cause I too love ND’s 😏 Overall, now that I understand this stuff you’re saying, this is a super great tip vid! ty sir
Thank you, I'm so glad you like it. As for the gambling at this point I would use it to buy holy bolts and do the maidens and any events you see in the helltides. The events give a decent amount of obols. You also get obols from the helltide chests. NDs do give good obols as you keep pushing and actually don't have a bad drop rate as you push. The obols I got in NDs were enough to keep me stocked in holy bolts.
This was great! But you’re a little off on Ironwolves rewards. Each tier is programmed to be a set level no matter if you open it all at the end or as you unlock them. T5 reward will be the same item lvl at character lvl 1 or 100. So open them as unlocked.
Sorry, to hear that. I would recommend at least playing through the campaign. It is worth it and you don't get into much, if any, of the stuff in this video.
I hope they bring tempering into the non-seasonal. I'm not really interested in this next season's gimmick and kind of just want to keep building on my non seasonal characters- And I love the additional lucky hit mechanics that it's opened up.
I just jumped on an eternal character to make sure, but you should already have access to tempering in eternal. It went live at the same time it did for season 4.
For certain builds they are a must, like werewolf tornado and bash Barb, but there are a lot of new builds that are relying more on the tempering ability to push the build rather than waiting for a good unique. Ultimately, I would try out any unique that's a fit for your build and just keep the legendary you replace in case it doesn't work out. You may need to move aspects around so you remove a build breaking aspect. This season moving aspects around is crazy easy with the new codex. So, I would go nuts and enjoy, you can always go back.
I'm about to start another class to test it again. There seems to be a lot of theories on how they work. I heard someone mention that the chest are already set as far as gear is concerned to normal, sacred, or ancestral. So, it wouldn't matter much when you open them.
I had that idea with the wolf stuff, at lvl 55 i started keeping the boxes and not collecting rewards, when i got to lvl 80 and opened, it was all lvl 55 stuff
Tempering is making me more sad than happy as it currently stands. I feel like they just moved the damage on Tuesdays to tempering with some cool tempering affixes sprinkled in. And I’m not even trying to be salty. I’ve been playing since S0. I’m not even greed rolling tempering… I just want the stat for my build even if a min roll.
I just had 2 double greater affixes brick in the last hour, so I feel you! I if they are going to use the 5 that you should be able to keep the current if you don't like the roll like enchanting.
im just gonna sub cause ive been using your vids casually as a resource for a bit now. thank you! anyways, im a new player. friend introduced me to the game and i kinda fell in love? ive been making multiple builds honestly, seeing what all i like (and sometimes what i dont like womp womp.) bc of that, one of my biggest questions was when to open iron wolf stuff, and i do generally think its better to open early on. getting sacred legendaries in t2 is wild. for example, i have a lvl40 to equip 670 item power ring thats sacred. ive gotten a few more pieces of gear like that along the way, and i just move them to bank when im 'done' using them, cause they genuinely are extremely great for lvling and just changing the aspect lets any character make use of that gear for that bracket. one of the things i also noticed was a lvl43 to equip helm but with 600 item power, a regular legendary. so i do absolutely believe there's a cap to them. im not sure how its calculated, but it definitely favors using them earlier by a bit i think, and then using THAT gear to get even better upgrades. its like a taste of whats to come. they cant give you anything too good, cause why would you grind then? ya kno? im not quite at the point where i need to do most of this (my highest lvl rn is 68.) still havent tried my first pit or nightmare dungeon yet, but itll be nice to have an idea once i do finally dive into all that. ive been stocking up on mindcages as well, im excited to use those at some point, lol. anywho, i just wanted to say thank you. as a new player to d4, to this genre of game in general, it would have been extremely easy to get overwhelmed, to burn out, to be lost in the grind. thank you (and so many other content creators honestly) for making that a more enjoyable experience. im a warframe and runescape enjoyer, so im absolutely about grindy shit, its fun to me, and now d4 joins them. its so fun to learn, thank you for making it fun.
On the iron wolves, holding them is not the game changer everyone was swearing it is. I would just open as you unlock. You are so welcome. Thank you for taking time to write this, i really appreciate it. I love getting more info on how gamers are thinking about everything. It really helps me in how i think about my next videos and in feeling like i'm talking to someone, not just the camera, when i record.🙌🙏
@@OwnModeGaming i think it makes sense to hold onto them if you care about the potential unique's i guess, but i still think they are so much more useful early on, those rewards alone combined with helltides can easily gear you for tier 3's capstone. i went overboard making characters, i made like 7, lmao. i got so inspired to just mess around with stuff i found interesting, and a lot of it has been working really well, even if its not like, the best most meta thing. anywho, the characters that opened as i unlocked had a much easier time progressing thru the tiers, bc i wasnt fully reliant on RNG drops basically. i had a guarantee decent gear essentially. also i did finally dive into nightmare dungeons and start lvling glyphs. i prob should have started sooner, but thats ok. im lvl77 now and found my favorite playstyle ive tried which is a companion focused druid.
when you temper you should have like 1-3 other dummy items than you can waste temper attempts on. there is pity sytem where if you temper on an item like 5-7 times and don't get the stat you want, you have a very high (not guaranteed) chance to get the stat you are looking for on the actual item you want tempered with the stat. so if you want a very difficult stat that has like 6 possible outcomes like chance for windshear to cast twice vs all the other options... get a dummy legendary of the same type and start throwing tempers at it in the stat category you want.. after 4 attempts getting the wrong affix, go to your real gear piece and start tempering that recipe. you'll have a much higher chance of getting the thing you want without sandbagging the item
That really shouldn't work if the RNG was right but it is broken. So, I think you are definitely on to something. 👍👍Pls thumbs up 👍 this comment so more people can get this tip.
That helps a lot for the alt. You can get crazy powerful alts off the bat just by having those aspects ready. You obviously don't get class specific aspects unless you are playing the same class as your main.
The wolf chests are preset so there is no reason at all to wait, item power is set and whether it is normal or sacred or anccient is also set so just open them straight away, there is 0 benefit on waiting
There was no mention of holy bolt being changed in patch notes, so it seems like they've decided to just let it go. I know Blizzard likes undocumented changes but it's such a major topic right now that I can't imagine them just slipping something like that by.
Good content. Some constructive critisism: Game music/sound dropping like 2 times every second is really distracting. Seems to be related to your voice overlay. Additionally the ending of the video was pretty abrupt. Maybe add something like "thx for watching".
We are aware it was a setting that was supposed to cut back when I talk. I think it's just too aggressive. We already corrected it for the next video. Thank you.
That sucks, I think i'm in the same place. Just to make it more infuriating, last season i did some boss runs for my wife and she got an uber in 3 duriel runs.
I've just started playing season 5 since stopping after season 3 and I haven't seen any of these elixers, and can't craft them either. I'm I missing something?
It's more like levelling tips, than an end game. You'd better spend obols on gear pieces that you're looking for with greater affixes, or affixes you need at least.
It made it sounds like he only had to run a couple of nightmare dungeons to max glyphs. Am I misunderstanding or have a done dozens when there’s some trick to getting more glyph exp?
I love the season, I really do. But man, tempering is some straight up b.s. sometimes. Can't tell you how many times I've used up rolls on a piece of gear that only had 4 affixes it could roll with and it rolls the SAME. THING. 4 times in a row. And on a defensive roll, it's almost always going to roll +dodge chance on the first roll. Can't tell me that's "random." Other than that, it's still a better system than we had before and I love the ability to basically almost "create" our own gear. Having Holy Bolts up especially in content you're not sure if you can crush, it's definitely a game changer on a Minion Necro and a must have for everybody else.
I totally agree. I have bricked so many greater affix gear with a crap tempering. It can be disheartening. I would to see a item that even if it was rare that could reverse and item to original state. Besides that this is by far my favorite season. I have already played all 5 classes into endgame and almost have 4 at 100. It has been a blast.
How can you craft those elixers I can’t find in any local alchemist, please show me how you unlock that cuz for me only gives basic elixir’s or advance
Thank you for those Tips. Maybe you should not break everything down. Gold and economy will bite you horribly in endgame. You´ll get a ton of crafting materials throughout your time playing. You dont actually need any more mats. But all the Money you leave behind will be needed. At max level its about 3-4 Mills a bag you sell and when you got a potentially perfect Item and you have to Roll a Stat you need you will find out how hard it may be. For example, you got a Amulet with max Hellbend Commander (totaly rare for me at least) and one more Stat you want to have on it, lets say Crit Chance, you need to roll Cooldown Reduction. I´ve spend around 150 Mills on it, still no CDR. But I did not found another Amulet. So I have to keep rolling. No front, your Guide is great for beginners, but you may reconsider the money aspect ;)
Yeah, I'm feeling the same. The rewards are so much better there for gear, gold, materials, temper manuals, uniques, etc... the PTR has moved the better temper manuals to the bosses. Giving more reason to do bossing.
Yoooo honestly the BEST you didn't go through is the insence you can have like 3 or 4 on at once you can have some serious damage and element reduction and more damage cheers
Agreed! I went in around 53 with my necro and it was crazy easy. That level was a recommendation for opening iron wolves chest, which may no longer be valid. I have to test a few things.
I've been gambling boots trying to get a specific utility aspect but you list that defensive aspects can roll on boots. Is that true? That would kill my utility aspect odds.
I wouldn't kill it. It's probably still your best bet. Other than offensive aspects, no item has one category. So, for everything not in the offensive category you will always be roll from at least 2 category pools.
I think it's up in the air until you pick up the chests. There has also got to be some sort of upper limits on the chest because at lvl 100 I got items at an item power closer to when I was around lvl80. Also, most of those chest I had unlocked but not picked up in wt3.
Almost every temper roll I've done so far, has given me something I don't want and then that exact same something 3 or 4 times repeated one after the other! Almost all! At first I thought I just got unlucky, but the reliability of this constant repeating of the same rolls is looking more and more like Blizzard's RNG is broken.
@dragonise13 is right. You need to be able to clear pit runs to get the mats you need and level 45 NMD is a solid marker that you are ready. Plus, you will want some levels on those glyphs, if you're going to push very far in the pits.
I really like the druid. It was my first class to 100 and it was a blast! Most of its issues do come in endgame push. I'm really hoping it gets a big bump this season. I would love to see more people playing it.
Good tip, I really dislike Hell Tides, and almost quit the game because of it. Then I started doing Dungeons / Grim Favor again, and started having fun again, and honestly the experience isn't THAT slow.
New to endgame player asks: do I absolutely need to do tier 3 NM dungeons when they drop or will doing ancestral (tier 4) only be better? (I steamroll t4 content but feel like I skipped the sacred NMD bit and worry it's a low-key gimp to the build)
No real benefits to the sacred NMDs other than a potentially faster way to level though world tier 3. I like leveling to about level 65 all in Helltides right now and then start taking on NMDs when I can clear 45+. The item level is pretty consistently 925 when clearing 45+ so I can geared out in 925 while hunting greater affixes and still push heavy in NMDs and even starting the pit with little to no trouble. Long story to say again, not missing out on anything by skipping sacreds 😀
great ty..Quick question, I am level 57 and have an option for a glyph..I dont like my current options, should I wait? Its the first glyph that you get access too. Ty!
I generally try to level up a rare glyph until i get the one I want. It can be 5-10 runs before you get a glyph you want. I would just make sure I'm doing my best to do full clears of every nightmare dungeon (i.e. kill all monsters, open chests, do side events) This should increase your chance for more glyph drops. Glyphs also drop in hellitides (events and chests), tree of whispers, bosses, and at a much lower level, random world drops. I think the drop rate for NMD's are still you best bet.
Yeah, I slipped up in the video and didn't catch it and once it's posted I can't even put a correction note on the video. I'll put a pinned comment on it.
I don't know if thats music playing in the background, but it sounds like it's cutting out constantly. Makes it a pain to listen on headphones. Rather have nothing at all playing. Great tips though. Seems like you have a noise gate that supresses the music whenever you talk, it's so distracting. Have the music play at super low volume instead. I personally don't mind if theres no music at all because I came for the info.
Sorry about that. I had the setup ready for livestreaming and should have definitely been either less aggressive with the drop or just keep it low the whole time.
It is really bad for only some people. My current guess is that it is those with headphones and maybe even those with the bass high. So, try lowering the bass or watching without headphones.
@@Travel3r5 Thanks for letting me know. I get a decent amount of complaints but I haven't been able to recreate. We just got rid of the variable audio for all future videos, just in case.

I like that a lot. Thank you!
Hey everyone, please thumbs up 👍 this tip so more people see it! Thank you!
I’m legit doing this right now lol
Takes so long to max it
I like this method as an alternative to spending that time straight grinding on just the main
Or get lucky and in your 5th Duriel kill you drop a Tyraels night on your Necro and it is literally the only usable Uber you can wear and it’s amazing haha…
Powerleveling alts guide:
Make character on WT2, go helltide event, get level 10 to pop an elixir. Get some yellow gear and temper it all for crazy damage early with the legendary tempers.
Once you can use Holy Bolt elixir, perma have it on
Don't bother with aspects, only on amulet if it enables your build.
Leveled a barb to 75 in about 5 hours this way
Nice guide, my friend! This is really cool you did this!
👍👍Please Thumbs up this guide👍So that more people get to see it👍👍
better yet, do what i did for a buddy, or if you have a friend that can help, run a new character through capstone on tier 2 immediately, do the same on tier 3 so you can run tier 4 nightmare dungeons. took an hour to get my buddy from 1-60, and an additional hour to get his gear from helltide boss spamming. within 2 hours he was level 65 with pretty good gear and able to take care of himself.
@@gamerreviews71 isn't there level requirements for the capstones
I can't seem to find what they are in season 4
Cause I wanna know at what minimum level can someone get into torment for the maximum xp, so I can boost my friend
even better, just buy the legendary gear boxes from the occultist you can wear it at level 1, temper it and you can do the WT3 cap stone dungeon while level 1... did it with sorc and it was easy, also RAXX have a guide on it, he finished cap stone dungeon on level 1 too.
@@LexxMachinima there isn't a level requirement t go in, there is a recommendation level, but if you have someone to carry you they can take you through both capstones at level 1.
running nm dungeons 44-100 up 1 level each time will give you exactly the glyph xp you need for 7 glyphs to level 21.
Thats awesome!

How I crafted My Harlequins Crest:
I farmed helltide boss with my heartseeker rogue nonstop to level iron wolves to max as fast as possible.
They already responded to a tweet saying it won't be changed, so we can get as many sparks by making more characters as we want
Thx for the tip staying in WT2 😉
This is an awesome!
Anybody that sees this please hit it with a thumbs up👍so more people see it.
@@victorlowe sweet, good to know that.
@victorlowe it makes sense, cause you have to grind 4 different characters to get one, and it's not a fast process
If you do the summoning event with the blood maiden and the hearts and get a community gathered and everyone starts contributing you can easily get every single chest in every single helltide every single time
Totally!
I was in an instance the other day with 3 or 4 other randos all pitching in and we grinded the blood maiden over and over for about 40 minutes total in one helltide. i had to make 3 town runs to breakdown/stash just the legendaries and uniques 😅
Adding players adds boss damage, my barb is plenty tanky for 100nm sigils, but 5 player helltide bosses destroy me.
@@velli37 nice! 👍
Yeah, that is correct. I wish I could update but I can't.
@@OwnModeGaming Material for Endgame Tips Part 2 following the patch :)
Here is an OP tip. TIMESTAMPS
Timestamps hurt the videos performance, by a lot. I wish it wasn't so, but it is.
@@OwnModeGaming can you expand on this? I never even thought of it. I would appreciate the insight. Thanks
😂😂😂
I was a little shocked at how rare the Stygian stones are. There were tons in the ptr.
If I may add something the the Uber bosses here. Keep in mind the stacking debuff you get. Too many stacks and you'll die to literally everything.
Can't believe I hadn't thought about doing the first 2 tempers on separate rolls lol. Probably the best tip to put right at the start of this video. thanks!
I too feel stupid.
I messed it up a lot before it dawned on me.
They definitely did good this season and I agree this game has so much potential. I can't wait to see the expansion, I would love a new class.
@@OwnModeGaming yes! Poe is great but people like me who play more than a casual/weekend warrior, but don't play near as much as a serious gamer, d4 is hitting the perfect spot right now! A new class by Christmas is my vote!
Same. I stopped after the disappointment of Season 2. Season 4 brought me back and I've almost leveled 3 builds to 100 (crazy for me).
Thank you, I really appreciate it!!
Awesome and it totally feels like a cheat code!
Enjoy it while it lasts. Supposedly getting fixed in the upcoming patch on Tuesday.
Because it is a cheat code lol. It’s bugged not working as intended. You can damn near one shot lvl 200 Duriel with it.
💯I totally agree and very well said!
Agreed. Gold is definitely the limiter for the game this season.
A whisper cache is like 6 mil
I’ve burned so much materials and so many different armor sets because I was doing it till I got one and then went to the other
I was doing that a lot. I also noticed that rolling the other one stopped it from doing the same roll 5 times in a row on the first temper.
I haven't noticed that. I would report it on the Blizzard forums or search to see if anybody else has had and fixed the same problem.
imo breaking down legos after a certain point is less helpful then just vendoring for the gold (Unless its a codex upgrade).
Crafting materials other then those from the Pit are so common, but gold is pretty scarce compared to the need late game.
Fully agree! Gold is definitely the biggest limiter this season.
Yeah, they have a preset level and none of the levels seem to be 925 ilvl, which I found annoying.
@@OwnModeGaming indeed. Absolutely zero reason to wait to open them later
My tip: Save your obols for gear when you jump from nightmare level level 3 and then again at NM 4

@@OwnModeGaming The power spikes are significant.
There are so many people doing the main event for helltides. 2-3 helltides and you’re switching all your gear. You don’t have to do anything. Solo capstones get to hell and piggyback the event.
I was about to say the same thing. About every five levels I would go buy on level gear. Up to about level 75 then I stopped.
Any tips on how to gather angel’s breath as much as possible? 😅😂
They are in a lot of places. Open whisper chest, helltide chests, run nightmare dungeons (mobs can drop) and run the maiden in helltides.
@@OwnModeGaming Thanks mate! There used to be a bug where if you left the game and rejoined while your helltide meter was going down, it would glitch and sit at maximum the entire time. I can't make changes to the current video, but all later videos have fixed this problem. It seems to be fine for people not listening in headphone. I think it's something to do with having the bass turned up that makes it worse.

I agree the rolling g system kinda sucks, I wasted all my rolls when it seems to get stuck rolling the same thing over and over, thanks for the tip
Oh and don't get to used to Holy Bolts as they like to remove or nerf everything that's good😅😅
No problem. I do wonder how bad they are going to nerf it and if it's mostly targeted to necros
I’ve been selling legendaries instead of breaking them down unless they upgrade an aspect, I havent had many gold issues doing that. If you need the materials to upgrade your gear you should probably salvage but I’ve never had an issue with that
I think once you have plenty of mats, this is definitely the play.
You can also craft holy bolts elixirs at the potion vendor. They stack with that infamous side quest elixir one (antivenin) for max xp gains.
Those are both great adds, ty!
U can use 35 angelbreath per potion if u want, I sure won’t

Thank you I appreciate that. I feel the same when I watch tip videos, I like getting confirmation and some new things to try.
That is correct!
Tempering has bad luck protection, it's not a random affix it will go back to the one you want eventually and it will do a max roll of each one eventually, use multiple pieces and keep rerolling bad tempers on others then swap back to the better piece.
I have noticed the same thing but I really don't like how it's weighted.
They definitely need something. Maybe just an alternate path for leveling glyphs
I started running my legendary +2 skeletal mages and warriors on my amulet to get them both up to +3 and that been working out pretty well, you might want to try that unless you have a golem centric based one on there.
It is golem centric but I have been wondering about making it shadow mage focused. I'll probably do another before i do that though.
Found it out myself with trial and error in the meanwhile and crushing 50+ pits already( started with the game this ssn) :p but your videos helped keeping me sane on the grinds... still going for glyph leveling, which is the most unfun part for me :/
btw, the iron wolf caches are labeled with legendary, sacred and ancestral to indicate what level of items you could get
I completely missed that. That is so weird. Thank you.
You can get sacred gear from the sacred rewards even in WT2 because of this.
@@OwnModeGaming Yeah I believe this was the same for the blood hunter and lunar boards. They are designed so you can open them right away, the item rarities/levels are set before you unlock them.
For Offensive Aspects you can just roll Focus/Totem/Off-hands because they only cost 40 instead of 50.
I like that!
👍Please Thumbs this up 👍 this comment so more people get this tip, ty!👍
Thanks and I really appreciate hearing your full take.
If you have money problems pick up all loot and just sell it.
Everything that didn't add to or upgrade my codex of power.
ADD A BLACKSMITH TO EACH HELLTIDE

Overall, now that I understand this stuff you’re saying, this is a super great tip vid! ty sir

You are so welcome and thank you that means a lot.
This was great! But you’re a little off on Ironwolves rewards. Each tier is programmed to be a set level no matter if you open it all at the end or as you unlock them. T5 reward will be the same item lvl at character lvl 1 or 100. So open them as unlocked.
That is what I'm leaning to as well. There were so many people certain that it was better with waiting, I had to test.
Jesus I started playing D4 for the fun, but this stuff is way too detailed and convoluted for me to get into it!
Hey man when do you recommend using uniques? I rarely see people using them but im always drawn to using them.
@@OwnModeGaming thanks man!
In another video I heard that the iron wolf gear rolls at the level you are when you unlocked it - not when you open it, wonder how accurate that is?
I'm about to start another class to test it again. There seems to be a lot of theories on how they work. I heard someone mention that the chest are already set as far as gear is concerned to normal, sacred, or ancestral. So, it wouldn't matter much when you open them.
I had that idea with the wolf stuff, at lvl 55 i started keeping the boxes and not collecting rewards, when i got to lvl 80 and opened, it was all lvl 55 stuff
I was super bummed when I opened the chests at 100 and it was all useless gear 😔
@@OwnModeGaming I would feel wrong taking credit for this, I learned it from Rob2628 he's a pro D4 player
Gamble with primary char for alt char weapon aspects too if you have everything you need on main char.
That helps a lot for the alt. You can get crazy powerful alts off the bat just by having those aspects ready. You obviously don't get class specific aspects unless you are playing the same class as your main.
Should I be salvaging uniques if its not a great roll or if it's super low item power?
If you already have a unique and get a unique with bad roll
Then, yes! Salvage it unless it might be helpful for another character.
I generally hold on to uniques until i get a better roll, then I will break bad ones down.
The wolf chests are preset so there is no reason at all to wait, item power is set and whether it is normal or sacred or anccient is also set so just open them straight away, there is 0 benefit on waiting
Apparently holy bolts is bugged which is why it's working so well (especially for Necro). So be prepared for it getting nerfed.
Nooooooooo! 😥
@@OwnModeGaming macrobioboi has a video about it.
Bugs are fixed, it isn't a nerf
@@metallicafan416 I agree with you but the interpretation of what is a nerf is usually in the eye of the beholder.
Thank you.
Over the course last two Seasons, zero for 300 for Ubers in solo Duriel runs. Living Steel is useful exactly how again?
That sucks, I think i'm in the same place. Just to make it more infuriating, last season i did some boss runs for my wife and she got an uber in 3 duriel runs.
If you are not lazy to pick up the rares, you could sell them to the vendor for extra gold, it adds up :D but that is being greedy
I've just started playing season 5 since stopping after season 3 and I haven't seen any of these elixers, and can't craft them either. I'm I missing something?
They were a season 4 thing. They are no longer in the game. They were a lot of fun. I'm sure we'll see them again.
It's more like levelling tips, than an end game. You'd better spend obols on gear pieces that you're looking for with greater affixes, or affixes you need at least.
I still use my obols for holy bolts to push the pit and speed up clear times
It made it sounds like he only had to run a couple of nightmare dungeons to max glyphs. Am I misunderstanding or have a done dozens when there’s some trick to getting more glyph exp?
Dozens is accurate. By the time I'm doing lvl 90+ NMD Its 5-6 runs to level a glyph to 15 and I think 6-7 runs to cap at 21.
Those were season 4 elixirs and holy bolts was awesome. They were removed after the season. I hope they bring them back.
@@OwnModeGaming ah okay rip 🪦 holy bolt exlier, thanks for the awesome video btw
@@PromitiousTM Of course and thank you!
Agreed for sure.
I just dont want to be stuck polaying helltide always. and it feels like thats all I do.
Yeah, I'm feeling the same. The rewards are so much better there for gear, gold, materials, temper manuals, uniques, etc... the PTR has moved the better temper manuals to the bosses. Giving more reason to do bossing.
Awesome tips especially on tempering.
Thank you!
Keep it up man. I love your enthusiasm
Thank you! I appreciate it!
16:46 Waiting is not neccesary, these rewards already are pre-specified legendary, sacred or ancestral. You can see it when you hover over them.
They can open at a higher gear lvl though I'm pretty sure
Yeah, that's correct.
Yoooo honestly the BEST you didn't go through is the insence you can have like 3 or 4 on at once you can have some serious damage and element reduction and more damage cheers
I didn't forget, most players don't play in groups. For anybody that does play in groups this is an awesome tip.
IM STILL TRYING TO LEARN THE MECHANICS OF THIS GAME AND HOW THE ALL GEAR SYSTEM WORKS😅😅😅
Don't wait till lvl 70 to go world tier 4, on this minions build you can easily capstone in early 50s lvl and farm at the higher experience.
Yes, while you can put utility aspects on gloves, mobility on boots, etc., all armor pieces can have defensive aspects and affixes
I wouldn't kill it. It's probably still your best bet. Other than offensive aspects, no item has one category. So, for everything not in the offensive category you will always be roll from at least 2 category pools.
Iron wolves caches set their level as they unlock so waiting until a specific level is pretty pointless
Besides opening them as soon as you unlock em can get you sacred gear and weapons in wt2
It has to be broken. It's happening to everybody and it was definitely happening in the ptr.
Holybolts drops about 1-2 in one mm dungeon but seems that Tehy drop more often on slower level ones
Those drops definitely fed my addiction when I was grinding NMD.
Masterworking isn’t working though, like the quest says talk to blacksmith but nothing happens when am there…
You need to make sure you are working with pieces that are fully tempered and you need to complete, I think, level 45 nightmare dungeon to unlock
There are gambling tool websites that tell you what item to gamble for depending on what aspect you want.
If you have the name it would be awesome if you posted it here. I think a lot of people would like to check it out, including me 🙂
Post it ?! Plz ?

@@OwnModeGaming hello?
What level does Master Working open in the Blacksmith? I'm level 72 and still greyed out 😢
Have to do a NMD 45+
@dragonise13 is right. You need to be able to clear pit runs to get the mats you need and level 45 NMD is a solid marker that you are ready. Plus, you will want some levels on those glyphs, if you're going to push very far in the pits.
@@OwnModeGaming thank u

My lightning druid had nonissue with tier 4 at leve 62. I cant believe how powerful he is.
I really like the druid. It was my first class to 100 and it was a blast! Most of its issues do come in endgame push. I'm really hoping it gets a big bump this season. I would love to see more people playing it.
@@OwnModeGaming got to 70 and wanted to keep going...but started a barb for this new season. Always my fav.
@@danielhorack8533 Barbs are awesome!
i wish that the greater affix icon in the eq would be different if the item has 1/2/3 greater affixes...
Fully agree! I thought they were just going to add more stars at the top.
Good tip, I really dislike Hell Tides, and almost quit the game because of it. Then I started doing Dungeons / Grim Favor again, and started having fun again, and honestly the experience isn't THAT slow.
Awesome! That's good to hear.
Agree with everything you said man this video is on point af.
Thanks, man! I appreciate it 🙏
Great tips! Appreciate you taking time to share this.

@@OwnModeGaming Great, ty for the advice, appreciate it very much, love ur vids.
quick note: the 4/8/12 masterworking are 25% boost each, not 20%.
I think the mic is cutting the sound as soon as he stops speaking. As you said its really annoying.
Sorry about that. I had the setup ready for livestreaming and should have definitely been either less aggressive with the drop or just keep it low the whole time.
The audio on this video is really fucking bad, dude holy shit.
It is really bad for only some people. My current guess is that it is those with headphones and maybe even those with the bass high. So, try lowering the bass or watching without headphones.
Sounds fine to me. Great video, gonna give this strategy a go. Maybe save up a bunch of them and use them in the pit. Keep up the good work 💯
@@Travel3r5 Thanks for letting me know. I get a decent amount of complaints but I haven't been able to recreate. We just got rid of the variable audio for all future videos, just in case.
