The fact that Phil Wang used to be an original task tester and still managed to be awful at most of series 7 is more impressive than anything a series champion has ever done 😂
No joke, there was an ad break (for a dish sponge) immediately after "Please describe the feeling of cake in your bum.", which started with "We squeeze as much as we can in each day."
A key thing about Alex's tastes in food that I learned from the Off Menu podcast is that he doesn't have any. He is dangerously unconcerned with how any foods taste and is happy to eat just about anything. I think he has a dangerous level of improv brain.
As an American who hasn’t heard of most of the comics before each series, I wouldn’t be bothered by a Fin and a Swede I’ve never heard of before. I always end up loving all of the contestants before the end.
Sadly, as things get more successful the numbers minded people start to ONLY think about people who would get more eyes on a show NOT just be great in the show. I dislike that mentality. Not everything needs to be demographics and highest numbers, it won't fail, worst case, less people see it, but if you've made a great show, and it's still doing ok (which we all know Taskmaster will) just make it the best you can.
Given how many people watch all of the international shows, with people we have never heard of, I think a world cup would gain a huge audience. Not only all us Taskmaster nerds, but each country's population would tune in to see how their peeps did.
I agree, but could be tricky with the language... They would all have to be fluent in English. And even when fluent, sometimes it's difficult to be spontaneously funny in another language
Same here. Now I'm loving the format, the contestants are less of a draw for me than seeing how they think outside the box. I'd watch an international version of winners.
Regarding people not tuning in to watch comedians they don't know: as a Dutch guy watching all this on UA-cam I knew about ten percent of the contestants I've seen come along. One of the best parts of the show is getting to know the contestants, with their own ways of approaching tasks, their quirks and their talents (or utter lack thereof). Not really knowing any of them in no way diminishes my enjoyment of the show. So if the higher ups are hesitant that unfamiliarity would stand in the way of a successful Taskmaster World Cup, please consider my case to be evidence to the contrary! (highly anecdotal though it might be :p)
That's the thing, people would watch it with an international cast. It's the higher up execs that don't think this because they're out of touch with reality.

"People won't tune in to a program with a swede and a finn the haven't heard of" Well, a lot of taskmaster international fans have watched over 14 seasons of British (and other) people they haven't heard of. I don't think that's such a big problem. If you include a known British contestant, you still got a hook for your audience, and besides that, the taskmaster formula will do the rest.
It’s so hard to tell when Alex is joking sometimes. When he said ‘I only have one suit’ it sounds sooo believable but I know for a fact he doesn’t and often replaces them
He also had a blue suit and a pink one in different tasks. He was just being a silly billy I think. I found out from the Taskmaster podcast that Mike Wozniak wore the same suit for the tasks and the studio show, the only one to do it, maybe Joe Thomas as well. So those are men with one suit for real, I think maybe Horne idolises their commitment to their looks.

These have been a lot of fun to watch.
Thank you for doing this, Alex!
Does international Taskmaster have to be the winners? I'd love to see David Correos return.
I am German and know almost none of the people who appear on this show and still end up loving them, do not underestimate our enjoyment of lovable weirdoes
"We've got a 100th contestant"
Series 20 confirmed bebeh
"People won't tune in to a program with a swede and a finn the haven't heard of"
Well, a lot of taskmaster international fans have watched over 14 seasons of British (and other) people they haven't heard of. I don't think that's such a big problem. If you include a known British contestant, you still got a hook for your audience, and besides that, the taskmaster formula will do the rest.
He said it's the TV commissioners that think that and need to be convinced. No doubt Alex knows the audience would be up for it!
I now want an international taskmaster more than anything
I like these and the genuine answers he gives.
Seeing the pictures of all the Taskmaster assistants together feels like when multiple Doctor Who get together in a special
These are such a delight! Thank you Alex for doing this!
It is so great to see him out of character. Thank You Alex and the whole team for making this show. This an QI was the only thing that kept me sane during lockdowns.
Me too! 🇬🇧👍
Id love more behind the scenes taskmaster!! I loved a couple series ago when you had a camera backstage for something (award related maybe?), I cant remember
“I’d be a sheep. -knowing look-“
😂😂😂😂
If you want to convince the commissioners to make a world cup, make the international versions available in the UK!
"What contestant...? Which contestant!"
This show makes us all so very happy. Thanks again for giving this joy to the world, Alex.
International Taskmaster sounds amazing!
Oh, it's "England" is it?
Mostly kidding, hope the filming is going well, and thanks for the answers!
A weather app for 20 years in the future 😂 Alex is so naturally quirky!
09:33 Don't forget Denmark! Great AMA :)
There should be a taskmaster of taskmasters with Greg as The Taskmaster
Good idea but I'd want Greg to take part.
I don't want to have to watch all my Dads fighting.
i came across this show on youtube. as an american i didnt know who any of you folks were. now, i dont think my life would be the same without finding this show. many hours of enjoyment. alex horne is extraordinary. he once was described....
I love the show! Wife and I started watching and have been thru 10 seasons so far
5:36 Bit of a No More Jockeys reference there! :D
I don't mind it at all.....
“One day, every second of every filming day will be released”
Alex, you majestic donkey, don’t tease me like that
I like this
This has no right to be so entertaining after I’ve already read all your answers on Reddit 😂
In a way, it's almost more entertaining when you know the answers already... "Oooh, he's gonna say it! He's gonna say it!"
stop lying
Little Alex Horne, you have a second suit... the swimsuit that Rhod gave you
Dog walker is such an easter egg now that I've seen Season 15!!
I think international task masker would be great, i’m not from the UK and hardly know any contestants but always love the show
We need a part 3. And parts 4-10 please.
After watching season 15, I have to admit that the dog walker callout was impeccable
