I recently finished watching all series of Task Master, and now it's over it feels like something is fundamentally missing from my life. I wish there could be a new episode of it every day of the week.
@@jwvandegrondenomfg, I totally didn't get that joke. Thank you for literally spelling it out. I'm way too high. Will watch this again when I'm not so I can appreciate it more. XD
Besides Taskmaster he also has No More Jockeys, it's more of his type of humor. He's an absolute glutton for punishment and Dad jokes. Also, there's Bad Golf.. I get the feeling Alex just records everything he does, and that's ok!
@@RFC-3514 The awkward Horne delivery does work with it, for sure. I’m just surprised there was no reaction at all - even with a delay! It gave me an involuntary chuckle burst the first time I heard it.
That was something quite special. Alex Horne is just so amazingly clever and innovative, whether it's music or stand-up or game shows. He is, I believe, a true comic genius.
I fell in love with Alex’s comedy from his guest appearances with The Horne Section, on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. From there I found Task Master, and now am obsessed with that show.
This is, but maybe for a brief moment in time, a Rowan Atkinson level bit. The memorization and impeccable timing remind of of Rowans bit where he portrays a janitor with a push broom that finds an invisible drum kit.
after having seen him on Taskmaster, I was wondering what Alex's comedic style would be like without someone else to play off of. turns out he just invents someone to fill that role
I’d never seen any of his standup before. Only knew him from Taskmaster. It’s so random, and weird, and awkward, and unorthodox, and yet it was somehow still hilarious hahah. I’m impressed, well done Alex! I say “well done Alex,” like he’s gonna see this. I know full well that he’ll never see my random UA-cam comment, on an old video, of his old standup routine. Oh well lol! 😂🤣 And then I type that whole paragraph (and this one) basically speaking to myself cause nobody else is gonna read my comment either....and so life goes 🙂
You know what, it's weird mainly because the audience feel almost mugged. Like the mask is pulled away. When we watch stand up it's live, but every word is probably exactly the same and he proves how unorganic, despite how it might seem, stand up is
@Halcyonacoustic people like Andrew schulz and such, but even sometimes some people use crowd work to lead into jokes. But most sets are insanely well rehearsed.
I think it kind of depends on the comic. Someone like Jerry Seinfeld is incredibly careful with his use of language and has every bit pruned down to a specific carefully crafted script. But someone like Ross Noble will just launch in to a topic and let his ADHD take him down some random wacky path, just making it up as he goes along.
JasCotton they just started putting them up for us americans on the official taskmaster youtube channel but its not all there yet and its censored. Check dailymotion or reddit for the whole series and no censors. :)
I went to the Society for Cats in Germany to ask how many lives cats have in Germany-and I know on their website you can book an appointment, but I didn’t because I don’t speak much German, just a few words, so I thought I would just drop by without an appointment, and they just told me, quite firmly and without a hint of politeness, just straight up “No.” So no help there, very strict on the rules, those Germans.
First minute: Wow, that's terrible. Second minute: Wait, is he serious? That's kind of clever. Third minute: How is he doing this? He can't possibly keep it up. Fourth minute: HE'S SITLL GOING Fifth minute: This is the cleverest thing I've ever seen. Sixth minute: Alex Horne is a genius.

One of the most original stand-ups I've ever seen.
Yes very original. A stand up who isn't funny at all.

I knew after watching task master this wasn't going to be normal stand up comedy. Now after watching this I'm like ah, makes sense.

A comedian heckling himself. That is truly the genius of Alex Horne.
His sense of humour is very unique and it is ABSOLUTELY up my alley.

No Greg Davis though :P

"he's joking"
"is he joking?"
"this dude ain't no joke"

Once I received a note saying that The Queen was ill and I announced to the audience that she was one hundred and eleven.
Ha! I just got it 20 minutes after watching the video! 😂 0lives. 🤦♂️
It's a joke I will likely share, knowing full well people will groan and roll their eyes at me.
When you’ve never seen Alex Horne’s stand-up but you know exactly what Alex Horne stand-up would be like 🤣🤣
I watched this because I just binge watched Taskmaster. Alex strikes me as so adorably awkward.
Sameeee
you should definately check out no more jockeys then

Yeah
The amount of rehearsal to get this so polished bewilders the mind. Props.
The audience completely missed the best joke. I can't hear you...because this is prerecorded. Alex Horne is a brilliant comedian.
THIS exactly! It's too subtle to get live, but I laughed out loud.
The olives joke also deserved better
